  48. been stuck in my head for days);
  49.  - v/a: Operation Beatbox (hooray for industrial-dance bands doing hip-hop
  50. covers!);
  51.  - Sensational: Heavyweighter (by far the best production job he's managed
  52. so far);
  53.  - Swans: Various Failures (melodramatic in the extreme, but awfully pretty);
  54.  - Tetreault/Drumm: Particles and Smears (snap-crackly-poppy goodness... my
  55. favourite Erstwhile disc other than the Haunted House one...);
  56.  - Thunderinas: Blower! (I've learned my lesson... no more crappy no-fi
  57. punk schlock from Homewrecker for me...);
  58.  - Mick Harris: Hed Nod Sessions 2 and 3 (why MCs aren't lined up around

  534.   In terms of other stuff that has been spinning lately, it's summertime,
  535. so my standards have largely gone right down the toilet:

  537.  - Pop Will Eat Itself: Cure for Sanity (somebody PLEASE remaster this
  538. album!);
  539.  - Merlin: Merlin's Arcade (where did he disappear to, I wonder?);
  540.  - Sonic Youth: 100% single (haven't actually played it, but "Genetic" has
  541. been stuck in my head for days);
  542.  - v/a: Operation Beatbox (hooray for industrial-dance bands doing hip-hop
  543. covers!);
  544.  - Sensational: Heavyweighter (by far the best production job he's managed
  545. so far);
  546.  - Swans: Various Failures (melodramatic in the extreme, but awfully pretty);
  547.  - Tetreault/Drumm: Particles and Smears (snap-crackly-poppy goodness... my
  548. favourite Erstwhile disc other than the Haunted House one...);
  549.  - Thunderinas: Blower! (I've learned my lesson... no more crappy no-fi
  550. punk schlock from Homewrecker for me...);
  551.  - Mick Harris: Hed Nod Sessions 2 and 3 (why MCs aren't lined up around
  552. the block to work with this guy is beyond me);
  553.  - Einsturzende Neubauten: Silence is Sexy (not only frilly and romantic,
  554. but also playful at times);
  555.  - John Zorn: Songs from the Hermetic Theater (accompanies late-afternoon
  556. filing chores quite nicely);
  557.  - Cubanate: Barbarossa (better-than-average British club fodder);
  558.  - Vandermark 5 and Chicks on Speed: assorted quasi-recent concert
  559. recordings (and an entertaining idea for a collaborative recording venture)
  560.  
  561. Oh, and also the sweet, sweet purring of the quiet new power supply in my
  562. no-longer-constantly-shorting-out computer, which is why I'm posting to
  563. this thread almost a week after it got started.
  564.   Many thanks, by the way, for the bass clarinet suggestions... I think I'm
  565. going to head out in search of some Marty Erlich and Eric Dolphy recordings
  566. tomorrow afternoon, even though I'll probably just end up buying a copy of
  567. the Moulin Rouge soundtrack album.
