Subject: What's the list of essentials for Patton?
I like that Fantomas project quite a bit. Patton really shows his many voices--which is what I like about him; he has that "Captain Beefheart-Style multi-voice" thing going on. I've only heard one solo record--listened to it once, probably won't again.

a good starting point is indeed a problem, especially for a novice. In
younger years I had the problem to "get" Ornette because I hadn┤t the money
to buy what I want. Instead I had to take what I could grab at the bargain
bins. In this way you won┤t get the best stuff but bootlegs or obscure
trash. It took a long time to reach the real stuff...
