  68.    Either my room is shrinking or my CD collection is just getting way   
  69. too big, so I'm interested in selling\trading some of my CD's to remove   
  70. some of the cluttered mess. Only a few are really Zorn related, so here's   
  71. the few that I'm willing to sell\trade that pertains to this list.

  199. Ok, here's one to ponder:  I was glancing back through what I guess was
  200. last March's issue of Down Beat, with Mr. Bill on the cover.  It kind of
  201. blew through a bunch of what he would be working on (touring, new Ginger
  202. Baker record, etc), and one thing they mentioned was that he and Wayne
  203. Horvitz had been down in Nashville (yes, Nashville) working on a country
  204. (yes, country) record that should see the light by the end of this year.
  205. Is anyone able to at least marginally validate this and affirm I'm not
  206. crazy?  If this is the case, then I can't begin to imagine....

  230. I imagine it would sound very much like the Copland "covers" that Frisell
  231. has done...his sound lends itself very much to country music and
  232. American-folk harmony (a la Copland) in many ways.

  235. surface from the trio texture he kills you with one of his tasty country
  236. funk lines."

  252. There are still much trouble to buy Zorn etc. CD's in Poland.
  253. Not only that they're not available but also for the price.
  254. I've got the "unofficial" VHS "PAL" copy of official, proffesional
  255. recording
  256. of MASADA, F.Frith and PRAXIS concerts in Poland made by Polish
  257. Television.
  258. MASADA played on Warsaw Summer Jazz Festival, July 1994,
  259. F.Frith played with Rene Lussier, Mark Stewart and Nick Didkovsky in
  260. Bydgoszcz, October 1995, supported by polish "MAZZOLL and Arythmick
  261. Perfection"
  262. PRAXIS played on Warsaw Summer Jazz Festival, June 1996.
  263. I am interested in exchanging these materials for CD's which I can't buy
  264. in Poland (e.g. FILMWORKS II) by post. (One VHS copy for one CD).
  265. All of these VHS copies are the first copy from professional Betacam SP
  266. tape.

  351. and includes the angelic-voiced fiddler Allison Krauss as well.

  568. Disc One: Loud, aggressive, almost thrashy stuff, pretty hardcore.  Disc Two
  569. is labeled ambient and is some of the darkest ambient around.  Good stuff.
  570. Japanese version adds a third live disc.  Great cover photo (can be seen at
  571. web site below on Subharmonic page.)

  585. the setup is Mick Harris (Ex napalm death),  bill laswell (Master of the 
  586. DEEP) on bass, and zorn on sax.  Their older stuff (Guts of a virgin & 
  587. Buried secrets) are basically spastic fits of chaos and emotion, and I 
  588. LOVE THEM!  Execution ground is my favorite.  first off, GO BUY IT!
  589. the first disc starts spastic (one of the best album intros i've ever 
  590. heard) and moves on into deathy ambient dub (DEEP BASS ala laswell).  
  591. there's 3 songs, and each are awesome.  Laswell's influence is more clear 
  592. on this album (especially since the other disc in the set is ambient, and 
  593. equally as awesome).  I could go on, but you should just get it & love 
  594. it.  I do.  Also, everyone needs at least on copy of (Pleasanton, CA 
  595. locals) Smashing Lenny's mellons & a band called WALSHSTONE.  ok. that's all.

  651. better description. This CD case looks exactly like the Death Cube K CD 
  652. but was entitled something like Aizona or something like that. Anybody

  665. It's Azonic, mostly noisy feedbacky guitar, mostly solo except for a little
  666. bass from Bill Laswell.  I like it, but I can't say I play it more than once
  667. a year.

  670. pretty small and the label is more or less gone.  It seems to pop up in used
  671. bins every now and then.
