  22. Just some thoughts in response to somethings that somebody said at sometime
  23. during the past couple of lists ... I think that covers everything.

  25. Firstly, I too would also like to see a whole album of instrumentals like
  26. L'Hotel or Tool in Rose (great one for annoying the neighbours and blowing
  27. your headphones/earphones/pet squirrel ... ).  The cinematic feel really
  28. comes together when there are/is no vocals ... sometimes.

  30. Secondly many years ago (ten, I think), I heard an interview on Forth FM
  31. (Scottish indie radio station) with the late, sadly missed Billy Mackenzie,
  32. and one of the projects in his pipeline at that time was to do an album with
  33. Boris producing.  Nothing came of this, and probably they only did a few
  34. tracks together on his next album ... stop me if I'm babbling wildly ... But
  35. (wishfull thinking, hindsight and all that ...) Wouldn't it have been a nice
  36. thought to have gotten a Mr Boris Blank to finish off the posthumous last
  37. Billy Mackenzie album considering that they did some really great stuff
  38. together?

  40. Ah, the babblings of a romantic.  In another universe there is a Yello
  41. group: Boris Blank, Dieter Mieier, Carlos Peron, Billy Mackenzie, Beat Ash,
  42. and the great Chico Hablas ... What a group!!!

  64. NO IDEA that Billy Mackenzie had passed away !

  66. How long ago was this ? How many albums did he release ?

  94. Billy died in 1997 - he committed suicide at home on his whippet 
  95. farm in Auchterhouse, just north of Dundee (where I live and work). 
  96. Since his death his last LP 'Beyond The Sun' was released to great 
  97. critical acclaim, and a further LP with Paul Haig was released 
  98. earlier this year. It is planned to release a whole pile of previously 
  99. unheard material over the next few years.

  101. The last LP released before his death 'Outernational' contains 
  102. about 4 tracks produced by Boris Blank and is a great LP, 
  103. although fairly scarce these days.
  104.  
  105. There is a great book entitled 'The Glamour Chase' which 
  106. chronicles the life and music of this extraordinary talent...I can 
  107. recommend it heartily.

  109. I hope this helps, although it gives me no pleasure to provide the 
  110. detail on such a sad event in recent music history.

  141. that "the song you're earing is from Yello" !!??
