Yello again,
Sorry to hear about the frustration going on trying to get a copy of M.P.=
I
got real lucky and found a copy in a secondhand CD shop in Manchester (a
discarded review copy?) for a mere =A37.99!! I've also seen a copy going =
for
=A314.99 in my home town of Hull.
I've had time to get used to this album and I now reckon it's as good if =
not
better than P.U. (and that one was to my mind the best since Flag). It's
nice to put on tracks like Distant Mirror in front of my club-going frien=
ds
who accept it totally as high quality contemporary chilling electronic mu=
sic
before being told, well, this is Yello. "Really?" they say in surprise, "=
get
it off then".. but you get the idea. Point Blank is a fabulous piece of
music, Cyclops is like Massive Attack meets Wagner in Switzerland. I thou=
ght
"this is my track for the Millenium" before reading those sleeve notes th=
at
hedge around the fact that that is indeed part of the intent behind it
(despite Dieter saying that the Millenium thing is a load of old cobblers=
in
an interview around the time of the P.U. release).
Anyway.. it's worth getting!

A Highway Patrolman waited outside a popular local
bar, hoping for a bust. At closing time, as everyone came out, he spotted
his potential quarry. The man was so obviously inebriated that he could
barely walk.
He stumbled around the parking lot for a few minutes, looking for his car.
After trying his keys on five others, he finally found his own vehicle. He
sat in the car a good ten minutes, as the other patrons left. He turned his
lights on, then off, wipers on, then off. He started to pull forward into
the grass, then stopped.
Finally when he was the last car, he pulled out onto the road and started to
drive away. The Patrolman, waiting
for this, turned on his lights and pulled the man over. He administered the
breathalyzer test, and to his great surprise, the man blew a 0.00!
The Patrolman was dumbfounded!
"This equipment must be broken!" exclaimed the Patrolman.
"I doubt it," said the man, "Tonight I'm the Designated Decoy!"

My copy only arrived in the post this morning from Hotstuff in Sweden.
So far I've only had chance to listen to it partly before breakfast, and
on the way to work, but first impressions are very good. Very good
indeed. Well worth the wait, I'd say. Worked out around =A314 including
P&P.
