Subject: (yello) Yello Interactive CD, news
Hello Yello fans.
I am currently putting together a Yello CD,
Regarding the copyright concerns, I will not be putting any of their
album or single material, just rare tracks, remixes, and some of my
own Yello remixes as mp3's. The video's will be small and low quality,
I love Yello, and want some people , including me at one time, who
have not had the chance to hear or see certain material, which I
believe is very good. I have spoken to people who have done similar
projects, particulary Markie Price of petshopboys.net, who produced a
psb interactive CD.
I don't want to cause any fuss over this, just provide, some
collective info on the brilliant duo and their wonderful music.
If you have any arguments for or against, please let me know
as I am half way through this CD.
Thanks
Dan

I always thought it was "Between the bottle (or bottles) and the mirror..."
(certainly seems to fit better with the rest of the song).
However, 'pot roast' is certainly pretty twisted...

It is certainly "Between the bottles in the mirror"

Subject: (yello) More things ...
Thanks for the warm welcome. Sorry it's taken me some time to get around to
replying but I've been bed ridden for the last few days - the perils of
working with small germ ridden life forms, I'm afraid. (I'm a teacher's aide
working in one of Christchurch's primary schools - I'm sorting out their
library (nope, I'm no librarian) and their I.T 'suite' ( ... and nope, I'm
no computer expert) ... how did I get the job ...).
Anyway, I'm no cockney either, I'm afraid, Guv ... even though I've lived in
the East End of London (Limehouse ... just around the corner from where The
Krays did their gruesome 'business'). English by birth (Southampton), to
Welsh parents. Lived in Wales (for about 10 years) ... and Scotland ... for
another 10 years (when to university in the University of Edinburgh ... oooo
...posh) ... and also lived in various exotic locations such as Darmstadt
(near Frankfurt), The Hague, and ... WOLVERHAMPTON!!!!
So there you go, somehow I've landed up with a very non-descript accent (in
other words, pretty much no accent, at all), and therefore despised by both
the landed gentry and the working classes.
Still could be worse, I could be a Scouser!!!!! ('ang on ... 'ang on ...
calm down ...) Only joking ...
As Yello videos go, though, I've only ever seen The Race video ... and that
was only a fleeting glance, so I can't really comment. Seeing any would, I
guess, be an interesting experience. I've heard good and bad things about
them so I'll have to sit on the fence (and it's a pretty damned nice one,
too, Guv) on that one.
Right, I'll have to leave it there for the moment. My bed and named brand
of paracetamol are calling me.
Best wishes for the 13/9/99 (the date the moon gets blasted out of Earth's
orbit ... according the 1970's tv prog, Space 1999!!!)

Hello Dan,
my argument is FOR:
I understand the copyright concerns, but when it comes to rare and
difficult to get hold of material, the profit of the sale/exchange of
this ONLY goes to person selling, there is no method for royalties or
such to go to the "Yello org".
My opinion, is that if Yello or management were concerned about
getting money for rare items they would make them more available and
get the royalites the normal way. They would not be rare then!
Further, low-q MPEG is NOT CD quality or broadcast quality video. What
you're doing is allowing someone the opportunity to see what otherwise
would not be seen or heard, so I fully agree with what you're doing.
If I want 16 bit or 24 bit audio, I'll have it WITHOUT the compression
and I'll buy the genuine article if it's available.
Keep up the work, and I also have no argument about 'reasonable'
production and distribution fees, creating art out of art.
Regards, Nic
