Yes

This is a tricky situation for me because I was entrusted
info which was supposed to be confidential and now
someone else kind of "spilled the beans". I will inform you all
when everything has been confirmed. And generally, never
trust release dates - or even releases for that matter - until
they are officially confirmed. Records get pushed back and
cancelled more often than you think and that's the reason
why record companies usually keep details confidential
until everything's settled. JW

Either you're getting awful feedback on your hi-fidelity unit or maybe you
are having another little joke with me? LOL.

end of the deal
especially in the UK (or I presume anywhere outside Europe.) I wonder what
the main reason is for releases being held back. (?) Will this album be on
the Mercury or Motor label?(just like HOY)

Sorry Michael (and to everyone else) for this bad joke.

Subject: (yello) The New Remix Album
Well, I surfed the net and I can't find *anything* on the new Yello album.
I know it's early speculation - but
can anyone answer these burning questions?
a) What's the album called?
b) The aformentioned remix of the The Race (is this a previously unreleased
version by Boris or what?)
c) In reference to 'Topas' - what is this?
d) Is it therefore a compilation of mixes by Boris and other artists?
e) Can we expect to see 3 albums in the next 12 months? - This album - The
Lightmaker soundtrack - and the new proper
Yello album?!
Somehow ; 3 albums in 12 months sounds too good to be true doesn't
it......!

I had a look too and didn't find anything. I suppose it won't be coming
out in the next couple of weeks. I'd say january is more likely.

The closest thing I can think of is the Tokapis On Track Mix... but that
wasn't by Boris. Maybe it's a new track... or it could be a herring.
>d) Is it therefore a compilation of mixes by Boris and other artists?
If other artists are involved, I hope they use good remixes and not some
of the drivel I have seen.

That's because it probably *is* too good to be true. :-(

Yep. Somehow I don't think Andrew Weatherall's Jungle Bill will be
included. But you never

Subject: (yello) Musky <--> Magnetic
I bought today Carl Cox "At The End Of The Clinche" there is track
"Musky" actually it is instrumental version of Yello's "Magnetic".
If we are straigt "Magnetic" is Carl Cox "Musky" with words!
In sleeve reads... all tracks _written_, produced, arranged and recorded
by Carl Cox except "Musky" written by Carl Cox, mixed and produced by
Boris Blank and Carl Cox
Next we look at Yello's "PU"
Music composed, arranged and engineered by Boris Blank, produced by
Yello except "Magnetic" produced by Boris Blank and Carl Cox
What this all means? Is it so that "PU" tracks don't are all Yello's
(written by Boris), because there no mention who is written those
tracks.
Why there no any mention that "Magnetic" ia actually "Musky" and it's
not written by Boris?
How about else 10 tracks who are written them? Just wondering why Boris
own Carl's track?

Subject: (yello) Fairlight
Hi there,
Yesterday a friend - also an musican like me - told me, that he could
buy an Fairlight (i think an) V2 for about 18 000 DM.
He ever dreamed of an Fairlight in his life and this is a good price...
This Fairlight was in America, with the complete original library and
some sounds from "Art of Noise"...
But someone else wants to have this one too !
Only as an sparks park depot !!!
Funny this guy and what do you believe where it is, when i am
posting this into a yello mailing list ?
Yes, it is Boris...
8-)
Now the philosopher of us can think about the contrary of
one man who ever dreamed of one thing and
another only wants to have the same as an sparks park depot.... :-\
have a nice weekend !

Magnetic/Musky was produced by Boris and Carl Cox.
Carl med Boris , when he was making the L'hotel remix for the "Hans On
Yello" CD
There they decided to produce a song together.
Boris added Dieters voice later and released the track on PU called "Magnetic".
But also Carl had the copyright on that track. He released the track in the
original instrumental version , and called it "Musky".
So both Carl and Boris own the copyright for the song...

Carl created the bass line, Boris added his
ususal Yello sounds, and then they both
continued on their own, maiking two slightly
different versions in the process. To avoid
the hassles of copyright they did not write
"written by Blank/Cox".
