Does anyone know where I could find the playoff roster for the Grizzlies?
Since the trade deadline has passed it would be nice to see exactly who all
will be eligible to play for us in the playoffs. Butch used to put a couple
of surprise ringers on the roster just in case (guys that would be available
after their current team was eliminated or such), did Bob do that with
anyone?

I just wanted to give a quick report on how we were received in Orlando.
They were absolutely fantastic to us! I'm sure all of us that were on the
trip would like to extend a huge public "Thank You" to all of the great fans
we met while we were there.
The first thing they did when we got there was escort us into the Season
Ticket holder lounge at the O-rena where we were able to get cocktails and
light refreshments. They made sure that we all got an entry gift. They did
everything possible to make us feel at home (except let us win the broomball
game). We lost the broomball 1-0 but we had a lot of fun trying. Thanks for
the loaner equipment.
Saturday they hosted a tailgate party for us in the parking lot with plenty
of chicken and sides. They even had a terrific "Welcome" cake. All -in-all
some of the most hospitable folks I've met.
Thank you very much!

Glad to hear Orlando was so hospitable and everyone had a good time. I heard
Kandi and Kristi on the radio during the first period break with Ian Furness.
:) I hope everyone took many many photos, and will pass the doubles on to me
for the Booster Club scrapbook. :)

Jeff,
First off...you're not intruding. Everyone is welcome to post on the list. :)
Not all games are televised. Those that are are shown on Fox Sports Rocky
Mountain. As far as I know, Goudie is still with us, but am not sure, as the
team has been on a road trip. I don't recall reading anything that said he was
traded though...and the trade deadline is over. Someone in the Grizzlies office
might be able to better answer your question on that. :)

For those of you keeping track, the Booster Club General Meeting is this Saturday, March 25, 2000. I believe the time is 4pm, but check your March Newsletter or the Booster Club home page for the correct time. Don't forget it's Pot Luck! :)
The meeting will be held at KSL, 5 Triad Center. 55 N 300 W, Salt Lake City. You can park on the street, in one of the pay lots in the area (although I'm not sure you have to pay on Saturday), in the undergroudn pay parking at Triad (I'm pretty sure you'll have to pay to park there
though), or take Traxx to the Delta Center and walk from there.
My apologies if this seems difficult, but since the shooting here, security has been beefed up for our safety. The meeting facilities are very nice...and even better, they're free. :)
I have coordinated with security and building management to allow for the meeting. To get into the lobby from street level, press the intercom button outside the door on 300 West. Security, someone with an access card, or myself will let you into the building. (I may post someone
at the doorway in the lobby around the arrival time to just open the door for people as they arrive). The meeting will be on the second floor. Again this will require access. I will have several people with access cards to allow everyone in. If you wait in the lobby for us to
come let you in, we will take people in groups. Otherwise, you can have the receptionist page me...tell her/him to page the second floor for Jenny Peterson to let you up. :)
I look forward to seeing everyone there!

Subject: [UG] Comments on the Important Stuff
Some comments about the games/players/transactions (the important
stuff)...
I thought we played solid hockey against the Vipers last week. I was
worried when we had 3 defensemen from the ECHL/WCHL backing up our
blueline but we played solidly.
Since I was in Orlando I didn't get a chance to watch/listen to the
Chicago game on Wednesday. Anyone have any comments on the game?
The Friday game in Orlando was 40 minutes of outstanding hockey and 20
minutes of bad hockey. We had a 3-0 lead going into the 3rd and seemed
to let our guard down. I was impressed with Crowley - he's a keeper
but am still 50/50 on Kos. He seems to have potential but IMO he takes
stupid penalties. He needs to learn some discipline. I'll give him a
few more games before I decide whether I like him or not. He's a rookie
- - hopefully someone will take him under their thumb and teach him
quickly to use his head.
Zarley did not play Friday or Saturday and I didn't notice him in the
stands (although he still may have been there). I assume Buckley is
still in the UHL. Sharples was listed as a scratch on Friday but not
listed at all on Saturday. Though I haven't heard anything official I'm
going to assume he's not on the playoff roster (and also considering we
just picked up 4 defensemen).
We looked sluggish on Saturday. We were missing passes, played a
non-checking game, sloppy... We lost that game in the first period.
Tabaracci did his job. I'm glad about that trade. I liked Ian Gordon
but Tabaracci is a better goaltender.
I'm sad to see Gord go but it's more of a historical reason than an
ability reason. Gord had a good head on him but his play just couldn't
keep up with his head. I've been on a few other lists (IceDogs among
them). They seem to think we screwed up team morale by trading Gord. I
think they're in for a surprise come tomorrow's game. I definitely
think we've got better Turner Cup chances with the team we have now than
with the team we had before the trades.
I also heard Boivin got "sucker punched" by a Cleveland player in their
last game. Seems like everyone wants to sucker punch Boivin. Of
course, the terminology was used by a fan and I haven't seen anything
officially calling it a "sucker punch". It'll be interesting to see if
he plays Wednesday or Friday. Isn't it strange how he's been injured
every time we've played him since the Wasatch Grille incident?
The Orlando Boosters really treated us well. We didn't even have
problems from the general fans. They were truly classy. We cheered for
our team, they cheered for theirs. I wish all the fans here could treat
opposing fans with the same courtesy.
Overall, I think Bob did an outstanding job under pressure. Applause!
