our blue line..that is for sure..

he know someone who does. Matt is trying his hardest to get the TRS thing
fixed but who is anybody to go acusing that someone isn't doing their job?

First I would like to point out that it is not TRS, it is TSR Wireless.
Second sir I feel your APATHY is not justified. You see this is a valid
concern for the Utah grizzlies who entered into an agreement with TSR for
said service. If this offends you then I am sorry. As far as our alleged (bad
investment) goes it directly reflects on the Utah grizzlies as a business.
WHY you might ask, well if you think about it, a service offered by a company
that does not follow through as promised has a tendency to scare the good
name of such a company. So as much as this page is a part of all who read and
or right into it, I think that this subject of problems with TSR Wireless is
a valid complaint.
thank you for your time.

Subject: [UG] DINEEN HEADED FOR CHICAGO
DINEEN HEADED FOR CHICAGO
The 2000 IHL trade deadline will go down as one of the most historic in=20
Grizzlies history, as the Grizzlies today made multiple moves involving a=20
total of nine players today.=20
The centerpiece of the deal was the trading of D Gord Dineen, who was the=20
Grizzlies=E2=80=99 captain for the first five years of the franchise, to the=
Chicago=20
Wolves. In exchange for Dineen, Utah received C Sean Berens, D Brendan=20
Buckley, who is playing for Quad Cities of the UHL and was a captain at=20
Boston College, and D Taj Melson. Melson, who has played 26 games for Utah=20
this season, had been claimed earlier today by Chicago, who owned his IHL=20
rights.=20
The Grizzlies then traded Berens, RW Joe Frederick and G Ian Gordon to the=20
Cleveland Lumberjacks in exchange for G Rick Tabaracci and D Ted Crowley.=20
In an unrelated move, the Grizzlies also received D Kyle Kos on loan from th=
e=20
Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL.=20
Dineen leaves the Grizzlies as the all-time leader in franchise history in=20
games played with 440. He is also in the top five in team history in points=20
(165) and assists (146). He was the first captain in team history,=20
relinquishing that title to Micah Aivazoff before this season and was named=20
the first Player/Assistant Coach in team history at that same time. He was=20
the last remaining member of the original Denver Grizzlies team and one of=20
three (Aivazoff and Jeff Sharples) left from the 1995-96 team that won the=20
Turner Cup the first season in Utah.=20
=E2=80=9CIt was one of the toughest things I have had to do,=E2=80=9D said G=
rizzlies General=20
Manager and Head Coach Bob Bourne. =E2=80=9CGord and I have been friends for=
a long=20
time. This deal was never going to happen unless I thought it was going to=20
drastically improve our squad, which I think we did. In essence, we got four=
=20
players because of Gord, four players which I believe are going to make a=20
huge difference for us.=E2=80=9D=20
Rick Tabaracci is joining his third IHL team this season. He began the year=20
by signing with the Atlanta Thrashers and was assigned to Orlando. With the=20
Solare Bears, Tabaracci was 11-6-4 with a 2.58 GAA average. The Toronto,=20
Ontario native was then traded by the Thrashers to the Colorado Avalanche on=
=20
December 8, 1999 and was assigned to the Lumberjacks in January of this year=
.=20
For the season, Tabaracci is 16-11-4 with a 2.70 GAA and a .906 save=20
percentage. He is being assigned to Utah by Colorado=20
Ted Crowley is an eight year veteran who is currently property of the Chicag=
o=20
Blackhawks. He was assigned to Cleveland at the beginning of the season. In=20
61 games for the Jacks, Crowley has offensive totals of 9-20-29 to go along=20
with 94 penalty minutes. The native of Concord, Massachussetts has over 500=20
games of professional experience, including 34 games in the NHL with Hartfor=
d=20
and the New York Islanders. He also played for the 1984 United States Olympi=
c=20
team.=20
Kyle Kos is a 6=E2=80=994=E2=80=9D, 185 lb. rookie who has spent this season=
with the=20
Lightning=E2=80=99s top affiliate, the Detroit Vipers, where he has played i=
n 44=20
games, recording one goal and two assists along with 77 penalty minutes. The=
=20
native of Hope, British Columbia was Tampa Bay=E2=80=99s second choice, 33rd=
overall,=20
in the 1997 NHL Entry draft. He started his junior career with Red Deer of=20
the WHL and finished last season as a member of the Kamloops Blazers. He=20
racked up 40 points in each of his last two seasons in the Western League.=20

I think that we all have to look at the team and ask "Are we better than we
were yesterday?' It sucks to lose Dineen, but he wasn't tearing up the ice
like he use to. And Fredrick was a solid player but in order to get
something you have to give something, and between Crowley and Taberacci
(Sorry about the spelling), I think that we are definitely better. Besides
Bob knows this team better than anybody. It is too early to tell if it
helped, but it sure does seem promising.
Ok I'm off my soapbox now

I cant keep up. Why dont we just sign men for good the whole year? I am very
happy with the grizzlies but is all this trading this late in the year
necessary? I also have a question that I am confussed about. I saw the
Avalanche play tonight and they were in Overtime. Why do we have shootouts
and they have overtime? Is is a NHL thing? Also they let the time run out in
the overtime and the score was tied 2-2. Why didnt they keep going to see who
broke the tie? I am not a Hockey expert so I just wanted to know.. Thanks..

In the NHL, they have an overtime with the winner gaining two points. A
tie gives each team one point. And new this year, just by gaining the
regulation tie you get the one point, just like the IHL for losing in a
shutout. Hope that helps a little with the overtime in NHL games.

It's rough to see him go. I propose that #2 be retired and is never worn by
another Grizzly.
I sure hope this all works out to the Grizz advantage. I'm trusting that Bob
knows these guys he's getting well enough to make the best decision for the
Grizz to bring the cup back.
And, Cyndi, I'm sure you'd do better on those skates than I would! ;-)

There is a God!!!! And his name is Bob Bourne. Tabaracci and his 283
NHL games with a 2.99 GAA against Gordon and his erratic play, ANYDAY. Th=

gives us two goalies with almost 400 games in the big leagues. WOW! I wil=

miss Joe but Gordo was about five years past his prime. I hope that when =
he
decides to finally retire he comes back as a full time assistant coach
because he does have a great knowledge of the game. While I realize that =
all
these moves are frustrating but remember it is a business and Bob is only
doing what he has to do to, BRING BACK THE CUP. IT'S ALL OURS BABY!!!
On another note, either no one remembers or they just never had the
pleasure, but although the E-Center is a wonderful hockey venue it doesn'=

come close to the old Salt Palace that was torn down only because the sli=

they would not have anywhere to play. This is a FACT. So, all in all if i=

were not for the Quebec Nordiques invading Colorado we would still be liv=

without hockey in Utah. Thank you Dave and Donna for relocating here in
Utah.
History 101. Doesn't it seem ironic that the year before the hostile
takeover of the Eagles, they just finished winning the second of
back-to-back IHL titles. Three years latter they were the worst team in t=
he
league. The following year, after the cornholing of Utah hockey fans, the
affiliation that was here won their first of back-to-back titles with all=
ot
of the same personnel. After which the city (Detroit) that bought the rig=

to the Eagles won the title. Hmmmmmmm. Six titles in 25 years in both the
CHL and IHL. Not a bad percentage in any sport, major or minor. Not many
other cities can claim those odds. Not a basketball title in the bunch, s=

is this a better b-ball town or hockey town? Spread the word, ONLY HOCKE=

DINEEN HEADED FOR CHICAGO
The 2000 IHL trade deadline will go down as one of the most historic in
Grizzlies history, as the Grizzlies today made multiple moves involving a
total of nine players today.
The centerpiece of the deal was the trading of D Gord Dineen, who was the
Grizzlies=E2=80=99 captain for the first five years of the franchise, to =
the Chicago
Wolves. In exchange for Dineen, Utah received C Sean Berens, D Brendan
Buckley, who is playing for Quad Cities of the UHL and was a captain at
Boston College, and D Taj Melson. Melson, who has played 26 games for Uta=
h
this season, had been claimed earlier today by Chicago, who owned his IHL
rights.
The Grizzlies then traded Berens, RW Joe Frederick and G Ian Gordon to th=
e
Cleveland Lumberjacks in exchange for G Rick Tabaracci and D Ted Crowley.
In an unrelated move, the Grizzlies also received D Kyle Kos on loan from
the
Tampa Bay Lightning of the NHL.
Dineen leaves the Grizzlies as the all-time leader in franchise history i=
n
games played with 440. He is also in the top five in team history in poin=
ts
(165) and assists (146). He was the first captain in team history,
relinquishing that title to Micah Aivazoff before this season and was nam=
ed
the first Player/Assistant Coach in team history at that same time. He wa=
s
the last remaining member of the original Denver Grizzlies team and one o=
f
three (Aivazoff and Jeff Sharples) left from the 1995-96 team that won th=
e
Turner Cup the first season in Utah.
=E2=80=9CIt was one of the toughest things I have had to do,=E2=80=9D sai=
d Grizzlies General
Manager and Head Coach Bob Bourne. =E2=80=9CGord and I have been friends =
for a long
time. This deal was never going to happen unless I thought it was going t=
o
drastically improve our squad, which I think we did. In essence, we got f=
our
players because of Gord, four players which I believe are going to make a
huge difference for us.=E2=80=9D
Rick Tabaracci is joining his third IHL team this season. He began the ye=
ar
by signing with the Atlanta Thrashers and was assigned to Orlando. With t=
he
Solare Bears, Tabaracci was 11-6-4 with a 2.58 GAA average. The Toronto,
Ontario native was then traded by the Thrashers to the Colorado Avalanche=
on
December 8, 1999 and was assigned to the Lumberjacks in January of this
year.
For the season, Tabaracci is 16-11-4 with a 2.70 GAA and a .906 save
percentage. He is being assigned to Utah by Colorado
Ted Crowley is an eight year veteran who is currently property of the
Chicago
Blackhawks. He was assigned to Cleveland at the beginning of the season. =
In
61 games for the Jacks, Crowley has offensive totals of 9-20-29 to go alo=
ng
with 94 penalty minutes. The native of Concord, Massachussetts has over 5=
00
games of professional experience, including 34 games in the NHL with
Hartford
and the New York Islanders. He also played for the 1984 United States
Olympic
team.
Kyle Kos is a 6=E2=80=994=E2=80=9D, 185 lb. rookie who has spent this sea=
son with the
Lightning=E2=80=99s top affiliate, the Detroit Vipers, where he has playe=
d in 44
games, recording one goal and two assists along with 77 penalty minutes. =
The
native of Hope, British Columbia was Tampa Bay=E2=80=99s second choice, 3=
3rd
overall,
in the 1997 NHL Entry draft. He started his junior career with Red Deer o=
f
the WHL and finished last season as a member of the Kamloops Blazers. He
racked up 40 points in each of his last two seasons in the Western League.
