It looks like there is a bill in Congress (S.1414/HR. 3193) to repeal the Wash. DC gun ban. Check out <http://www.packing.org/talk/thread.jsp/30119/> for details.
It also looks like one of the gun-grabbing groups has set up an automated sever to allow you to send messages to your congressmen. However, they've made the mistake of allowing you to change the text of the message, so you can easily use their system to send a message in favor of the repeal. ;-) (You may end up with some future spam from these guys, but at least you'll know what they are up to.)
If nothing else, you may want to ask the various candidates for federal office where they stand on this bill. Ask the incumbants if they have co-sponsored it.
