Good strategy, Jim, (in fact it was my first strategy ideas) except for one
possible thing... I've learned that repeat customers are one of the
businessperson's greatest resources. This plan, while theoretically fair to
all customers, also negatively affects the greatest number of customers,
and this may affect repeat business.
Here's another idea to consider:
1. Cancel un-prepaid orders first (I'm totally with you on that one).
2. If necessary, cancel the last orders placed until equilibrium is reached.
While this may not seem as fair to those who miss out, it follows the basic
rules of "first in time, first in right", "finders keepers, losers
weepers", "the early bird gets the worm", "you snooze, you lose", etc.
Yet another idea off the top of my head: after cancelling un-prepaid
orders, cancel first-time customers? While this might make business sense
in some people's opinion, it isn't very fair at all, in my opinion.
Any thoughts on either of these?

Subject: (TrekTrade) Posting messages with MS-Outlook
Date: 05 May 1998 10:47:47 -0600
Hello everyone!
This problem is getting more and more frequent. Because the members of
this list use a variety of mail readers all messages should be posted in
simple ascii text with no formatting (color/font changes). Not posting
simple ascii text means your message won't be able to be read by everyone
meaning possible missed sale/trade opportunities.
Outlook Express and Outlook98 are the two biggest culprits. People who use
Outlook probably don't realize that their messages are only viewed properly
by others who use Outlook also. The rest of us get funny characters, no
hard returns or other strange display problems. This is caused by the way
Outlook encodes the messages. The following info can be used to configure
Outlook to send "Friendly" text.
-----------------Outlook send email everyone can read-----------------------
SECTION C: Configure Outlook to Send Friendly Text
A lot of people are using Outlook and Outlook Express as their mail client
under Windows '95 and NT. Unfortunately, the default character set under
Express for email is 8859-1.
To fix this, do the following:
If you are using Outlook, go to [Tools], [Services], Select [Internet
Mail], then [Properties], and select [Message Format], unselect [Use
MIME], choose [Character Set], and select [USASCII].
Under Outlook98 select [Tools], [Options], [Mail Format], then [Message
Format], and choose [Plain Text] and hit [Apply].

Date: 07 May 1998 01:42:12 -0500
Hi Everyone,
What do you call it when you go into a store, and just for the heck of
it buy a few 6 packs of cards and get an autograph card out of it? ? ?
Fate? The force was with me?
Yep, I got an Odo/Rene Auberjonois autograph card. Looks just like the
one i have scaned on my DS9 Profiles page. :)
http://www.super-highway.net/users/capcom/deep_space_profiles.html
The price has fluctuated so much on these cards i,m not sure what to
sell it for. It's gone as high as $120+ and as low as $60 or so. So
gimmy an offer.. :|
BTW: got a bunch of Trek and B5 cards on eBay that go to sold today and
tomarrow. Check it out:

Subject: (TrekTrade) Binder Update!
Date: 14 May 1998 17:27:12 -0400
Bad news first, I lost a few days worth of email, so if you expressed
interest in
binders, please do so again!
Good news! The distributor that I deal with has agreed to let me make
mix and match case assortments, I was afraid that I would not be able
to fill requests for only ONE binder if it meant I had to get 12 since I
hate to have 11 binders without a home. :( So, step foreward and be
recognized! If you are interested in binders, just holler and I will put
the order together.
Again, even if you emailed me, please do so again, since I don't know
for sure what I lost!

I have found someone that still has TOS Season 2 boxes available. However,
the thing is that I don't know what the price on them will be yet. She is
getting them on Thursday, so I will know a definate price then. These are
going to be closer to the retail price, I do know that. Anyway, she can
still order them for me if anyone is interested in them. Please let me know
asap if you are interested in any. I am going to guess and say that the
price will be around $75 (with shipping). That is a guess, so keep that in
mind. If it is less, then of course I will tell you that as well :-) LMK

I am reposting this as I was out of town for several days and my inbox was
quite unmanageable when I returned...
While I was active in fandom, I did alot of illustrations for various zines.
I ended up collecting alot of glossy pics, movie magazines, and some fanfic
zines in the process, for reference material. I am also selling my collection
of TOS paperbacks.
I can provide the entire list via reply email (list will be in a Word 6/95
table -- different formats can be provided but I can't guarantee the list will
be readable.
Items are priced individually, except where noted. Everything is first come,
first served. Bids/offers are also considered in the order received.

I DONT GET ON LINE MUCH. SO I AM SORRY FOR NOT GETTING BACK TO YOU SOONER.
HERE IS THE INFORMATION THAT YOU ASKED FOR THOUGH.
how it went VERY WELL--I AM VERY PLEASED WITH THE TRADE
what was traded CARDS FOR COMPUTER EQUIPMENT SUCH AS MODEMS
SCANNERS AND A FEW OTHER THINGS AS WELL AS CARDS
was it prompt ACTUALLY THE THINGS I GOT GOT TO ME BEFORE I

NEW AND SEALED SINCE THAT IS WHAT HE SAID THEY WERE AND THE CARDS WERE ALL
MINT OR CLOSE AS I EXPECTED
be specific please. >>
IT WAS A PRIVATE ARRANGEMENT THAT I HAD WITH HIM AND HE LIVED UP TO
THE AGREEMENT WE HAD. I PERSONALLY KNOW 9 OTHERS THAT HE HAS TRADED WITH
AND
ALL BUT TWO ARE HAPPY WITH THEIR TRADES
OF THE TWO--ONE IS A LIAR WHO I HAVE HAD DEALINGS WITH MYSELF.
AND THE OTHER IS PROBABLY LYING BUT I AM NOT SURE OF COURSE. SINCE
I HAVENT DEALT WITH HIM. I AM PLANNING ON ANOTHER TRADE WITH GLEN
IN ABOUT TWO WEEKS AS SOON AS I CAN PACKAGE UP WHAT HE WANTS
FROM ME. AND IM GOING FOR MORE OF THAT COMPUTER STUFF HE HAS.
ITS ALL NEW. SO HOW CAN YOU GO WRONG?
<<
hello! I'm talking trade with tradincrds@aol.com. If you're traded with

Our trades went as stated above, but he always wants more. I cannot say
anything was out of the ordinary.

what was traded = non sports trading cards
was it prompt = yes, he was very prompt I got my goods from him within a
week
or two
in the condition specified = yes, he was totally honest about the
condition
they were in.
the trade with Tradincrds went off as planned...
i found him to be an honest person who held up his end of the deal without
any
problems...i have heard that u will ask for my phone number and
references....this i am not willing to give out...u r dealing with
him....not
i . i have found no problem trading with him at all...we have been

Hi Yes I've traded with him now for a few months now and it has always
gone
well..I was worried because i have been ripped off so many times but he is
honest and always comes through. I traded some cards for some computer
items..a modem and a quick cam and they were in perfect condition..I
recieved
them not to long after he recieved mine just like he said I would..Im
getting
ready to trade with him again..
Barbi
###############
The following emails are considered to be doctored by his girlfriend,
one Kristy Hyatt
###############
yes I have traded with him. I was very satisfied with the trade. We
have traded three times. First time was commons for commons. He was very
patient with me. I put the wrong address on mine and they were sent back
to
me. I went to check and I had put the wrong state on it. My fault
totally.
Once that problem was complete..and I got the cards to him. He then sent
mine
to me, which was fine with me. The cards were Mint and exactally what our
trade was for. The second was for one of his tapes. I love the Eagles
and he
has a concert that I had gone to ...gosh in Atlanta at the Omni and I paid
around $20 for it. It was a bootleg and the quality was exactly what a
bootleg should have been. Good...it brought back a lot of memories. I
got my
moneys worth on that. I sent the money (cash) he sent the tape. The
third
was for a few Star Trek, Disney and Batman that I was missing for making
my
sets complete. He needed Batman, and a few Spiderman and a couple of Star
Wars. I sent first, and within three days or so after sending he notified
me
that he received my cards and that mine was in the mail. And a few days
later
I got my cards...Mint condition. Now, other than what underwear I wore on
those days that is all I can offer you. We are now working on another
trade,
and I am sure all will be just fine. I hope this helps. I have never had
any
problems with TradinCrds. In fact I have traded with oh...5/6 people
online
and each time I have come across some decent people out there. One even
sent
me back $.20 cents that I over paid him. Imagine that.
<< hello! I'm talking trade with tradincrds@aol.com. If you're traded with
him before, please give me all the details:
how it went

HI! I have been with trading with TradinCrds for about 5 months now. I
first
traded with him on a card trade and then a trade for a cdrom and some
cards.
I have never had any problems with either TradinCrds or with the
merchandise
that I have recieved.
The cd rom was new, still wrapped up in the box, (and I got a good deal
for
it!) and the cards were in really good condition. He has always been
helpful
with everything I have asked and has even gone out of his way to insure
that I
got my "trade" within the time specified.
Hope your trade with him will be as good as mine.
#########
And finally, a request for phone numbers came up with this response
#########
<< whoa fella! I just started checking up on your refs. we\ll talk value
after that's through. You don't have a phone number? i need a number so
i could call and have a chat to get a guage of the person i will be
dealing with. it's personal security for me, as i've been ripped off
before and i don't like the feeling. it could be your home or work
number. it doesn't matter just as long as i get a chat.>>
i dont like discussing anything over the phone..
the references are for the security
oh.. and one more error i made..
regina5678 is slightly wrong..
its regina4567
sorry again..
i dont have a work number.. and i cant offer u a chat sorry..
if it is all hinged on that.. then we are wasting our time...
i dont like talking to people on the phone.. sorry....
##########
If this all sounds familiar, let me know. I know it does to me, as I've
heard
this bit before. Yet again, please do not trade with this person. I'm
still
waiting for his items since February. If somebody can check up on his refs
on
AOL, that would be great. This guy should be stopped for the benefit of
all.

How can we remove this Frohman character from Trek Trade and prevent him

(including petitions) to keep him from conning anymore of us. Got any
suggestions?

I HAVE BEEN SELLING TAPES AUDIO AND VIDEO.. FOR ALMOST
20 YEARS NOW.. I STARTED IN FEBRUARY OF 1980...
AND I HAVE BEEN DOING MAIL ORDER WITH THEM SINCE ABOUT
MID 85...
IF I GET A CHECK OR MONEY ORDER ... I SEND THE TAPES...
BUT.. INTERESTING NOTE... THIS IS THE FIRST TIME I HAVE HEARD
ABOUT THIS SUPPOSED ORDER IN ABOUT A MONTH OR TWO..
I HAVENT GOTTEN ANY CHECK OR MONEY ORDER FROM U...
AND HAVE NO IDEA WHY U WOULD EXPECT ME TO SEND U ANY
THING UNTIL I GOT ONE...
IF U HAVE A CANCELLED CHECK XEROX IT AND SEND IT TO ME..
IF I HAVE SIGNED IT.. AND IT HAS BEEN CASHED.. I WILL SEND
U THE TAPE U ORDERED... OF COURSE...
I DEFY THAT TO HAPPEN THO.. SINCE I HAVE ONLY HAD ONE
ORDER FOR A NIN TAPE IN THE LAST 8 YEARS..
AND IT WASNT U...
IF U WISH TO FLAME SOMEONE.. I DONT THINK THIS IS THE PLACE..
BUT THEN... THATS UP TO U.. AND JIM... I WOULD IMAGINE..

...I HAVE TOLD U NUMEROUS TIMES.. THAT U DIDNT SEND ME WHAT U
SAID U WERE SENDING ME.. AND THEREFORE THERE WILL BE NO TRADE..
U TRIED TO RIP ME OFF.. AND I WONT PUT UP WITH THAT...
ALL CORRESPONDENCE WAS HALTED WHEN I FOUND THAT U WERE
NOT BEING HONEST WITH ME...
ON AOL U CAN ONLY HAVE 5 NAMES PER ACCOUNT...
I AM CURRENTLY USING TWO OF THEM... ONE IS FOR A FRIEND
IN ARIZONA.. WHO NEVER USES IT.. AND THE OTHER TWO ARE MY
WIFES... NOT GIRLFRIEND BUT WIFE.. AND NONE OF THOSE NAMES
ON MY REFERENCE LIST ARE HER...
The following emails were responses to the person's request for info.
Please note that I believe the only legitimate ref that Glen has is at
tonofcards@aol.com.
...YES WELL.. U ARE WRONG HERE... ALL THOSE NAMES ARE PEOPLE
I HAVE TRADED WITH ONLINE... MOST OF THEM ARE AOL PEOPLE SINCE
I HAVE THE ABILITY OF TALKING TO THEM ONE ON ONE.. AND I CAN
POST MESSAGES IN VARIOUS PLACES ON AOL...
I DID SOME TRADING WITH TONOFCARDS.. AKA WANDA IN PA..
BUT NOT IN A FEW MONTHS NOW..
ALso, the mail from BarbiiBear and Glen has all the
same writing patterns. He just loves doctoring his refs.
... BARBI.. LIVES IN FLORIDA.. AND I HAVE KNOWN HER FOR ABOUT
TWO YEARS.. SHE IS NOW A FRIEND OF MINE.. ONE OF MY CLOSEST
ONES.. AND I HAVE HAD SEVERAL TRADES WITH HER...
WRITING PATTERNS?? GIMME A BREAK... THE QUESTIONS WERE
ASKED.. AND ANSWERED.. THERE ARE NO PATTERNS..
BUT THINK ABOUT IT.. THERE IS A LIMIT TO HOW MANY WAYS
THERE ARE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS.. SUCH AS WERE ASKED
IN THE MAILING U ALL GOT... I AM NOT BARBI.. AND SHE ISNT ME..
GET OVER IT... AND GROW UP... WE ARE OFTEN ONLINE AT THE
SAME TIME.. AND WITH ONE ACCOUNT.. U CANT DO THAT...
ALSO.. IF IT WAS ASSUMED THAT I HAD TWO ACCOUNTS ID
ALSO HAVE TO HAVE TWO COMPUTERS TO BE ONLINE AT THE
SAME TIME AS BARBI..
OF COURSE THERE IS A WAY TO BE ON TWO ACCOUNTS AT THE
SAME TIME WITH ONE COMPUTER.. BUT I DONT HAVE WIN95...
SO ITS NOT POSSIBLE FOR ME... AND I HAVE ONLY ONE AOL
ACCOUNT...
Please note a lot of his items hasn't changed. I asked for 2 Quick Cams
and a Borg game and they are still on the list.
...THEY ARE STILL ON THE LIST.. CUZ I HAD 4 OF EACH OF THEM..
I HAD 24 QUICK CAMS.. WHEN I STARTED...
I HAVE TWO LEFT.. NOW..I THINK... BUT ONE IS SPOKEN FOR..
SUPPOSEDLY...
ALTHO THAT LIST WAS NOT NEW.. IT HAS BEEN UPDATED A FEW
TIMES SINCE THIS COPY WAS SENT.. BUT SINCE I HAD MULTIPLE
COPIES OF SOME OF THE THINGS ON IT.. THERE WAS NO NEED TO
UPDATE IT...
YES U DID ASK FOR THOSE THINGS BUT.. U NEVER SENT WHAT U
WERE SUPPOSED TO SEND FOR THEM...
CASE CLOSED...
Hi! I have some more information and tactics of Glen Frohman, the master
fraud. He's scammed many people and he is still trying to pull his bit. Here's
a
record of a possible trade he was going to do last month:
....MANY?? UM... HARDLY.. I HAVE ONLY HAD A BAD EXPERIENCE WITH
THREE PEOPLE NOW.. AND FROM WHAT I HAVE BEEN ABLE TO DETERMINE
TWO OF THOSE PEOPLE USING DIFFERENT NAMES MIGHT BE THE SAME
PERSON...
AS U ALL CAN SEE. . THE SAME POINTS ARE STATED BY MORE THAN
ONE NAME IN THIS MAILING LIST...
HMMMMM MAKES U THINK... DOESNT IT...
U KNOW.. ITS NOT ALWAYS THE FIRST PERSON TO ACCUSE AND RANT
AND RAVE THAT IS THE HONEST ONE... SOMETIMES THE KID THAT SAYS..
HE TOOK MY PENCIL IS LYING... AND NO PENCIL WAS EVER REALLY TAKEN..
EVEN IF TWO OR THREE SAY IT...
THERE ARE MANY MORE WHO WILL SAY THAT THE ACCUSED IS HONEST..
I AM CURRENTLY DEALING WITH MANY MANY PEOPLE ONLINE VIA THE NET
AND VIA AOL... AND I HAVENT HAD ANY PROBLEMS OTHER THAN WITH
THESE TWO...
IF U WISH MORE INFO... CONTACT ME.. AND ILL SEE WHAT I CAN DO...
BUT I WILL NOT RESPOND TO THIS GARBAGE ANYMORE AFTER THIS...

This is really kind of excitin, and knowing I' not the type to keep my mouth
shut, I'm gonna offer a few things.
>u have never
>had any dealings with me whatsoever... and u dont
>know if anything u have heard is true or not...

I think this person has a point here. I've seen it beforewhen when it
appears someone is guilyt simply becasue of the #'s invloved, then later it
turns out they weren't guilty. I'm defenduin this person, I'm simply sayin
I haven't drawn any conclusion's.
>i have a suggestion... mind ur own business and
>stay out of it til it concerns u directly....
Well here I have to disagree, because if any of the stuff is true, I'd
appreciate the warning. On a moral level, I don't think something has to
"affect you" before you make a stand. Quite contrary actually. If more
people were less "apathetic," we'd have fewer problems on this planet.
Good luck to everyone,
Ross

Hello Jim,
I am a new subscriber to trektrade and recently saw my name listed in one of
the continuing point and counter point "trade" postings concerning Glen
Frohman.
Question - do I write my posting to you, as I am doing now, to have it posted
and sent to all the members?
Please let me know as soon as you can, so I can reply.
thanks

First, I apologize to all the members of trek trade who have been subjected to
this personal slam and counter-slam between:
willyee@ugrad.ece.mcgill.ca
and Glen Frohman or tradincrds
but I need to clear the air about myself, because I was just, politely,
informed that I have been placed on several bad traders lists.
I traded with Glen 3 times, without incident.
I sent a person, (obviously willyee, under another name), a reference stating
that.
I was listed on willyee trektrade posting yesterday, where he insinuated that
I may be Glen, at the very least, that my reference was not genuine.
Today, a person refused to trade with me because I was listed as a bad trader
on "several" trading pages.
ONE: I AM NOT GLEN
TWO: I SENT OUT THE REFERENCE AS A COURTESY TO THE INQUIRER, NOT TO BE
DRAGGED INTO THIS PERSONAL PROBLEM
THREE: IF I AM LISTED AS A BAD TRADER ON YOUR PAGE AND HAVE NEVER TRADED
WITH YOU, I INTEND TO ANNOUNCE YOUR ATTEMPT AT DEFAMATION OF CHARACTER ALL
OVER THE BOARDS. AND IF LEGALLY POSSIBLE, WILL BRING CIVIL CHARGES AGAINST
YOU FOR THE SAME.
FOUR: IF I HAVE TRADED WITH YOU, MY E-MAIL ADDRESS IS ABOVE, WRITE ME AND TELL
ME ALL ABOUT "OUR" TRADE.
This is not a game. I am very serious about this situation and do not want
any part of your personal quarrel.

i know i dont have any... but u may be luckier than i am..
as for u being me.. well all the references that i used
were posted in the group mail.. and all of them got a copy of it...
its funny.. that when i use another name.. im running away...
and trying to defraud people... but when willyee does it..
its ok... he used another name to trick me into a trade...
since i didnt want to have anything to do with him...
then he tells me that i have been ripping off many many people..
and trying to do it again.... he says.. here he goes again... or hes
at it again... etc... hes obviously a child with little else to do...
but harass me.. and try to get something for nothing...
but he doesnt just tell me this... he tells the whole trektrade list
the same thing...
well.... i have been advised what i should do.. .and ill probably
do that... but now u can see that this flame war can get out of
hand.. and can drag innocent people into it... like urself...
and again.. i am sorry...
as u know im a good trader.. an honest one.. and yes one who
doesnt want to be taken advantage of.. but im also an eager
trader.. and im 38 yrs old... and i dont have time for such childish
games as this....
im interested in trading with honest people who wish to do the
same...
and my reference list is growing...
lets see if we can not respond to this flame war.. from now on
i know that i am not interested in defending myself anymore..
but i cheer u on bamacf... and hope that u find that...
the truth is out there...
we all know that the lies are...

First off, let me begin by saying that I am not lying about Glen. I have
documentation and a copy of Kristy Hyatt's signature confirming that he
has received my package at his address. Also, I have been trading on the
net for 3+ years and have accumulated a good reference base. Also, I now
know of at least 3 people who have been ripped of by him (including the
person who recently posted on trektrade).
With that out of the way, it is well known that Glen doctors his refs.
Now, if you are indeed a legitimate reference, I mean no disrespect. I
apologize for the confusion.
If you (or anybody else) doubts my claims, I can provide solid
references of nonsport and sport. Please understand that I'm trying to
warn people of Glen. If you were successful in trading with Glen, then you
are indeed one of the lucky ones. Let's just say that I lost a
considerable amount of money from this transaction.
As for Glen saying that I'm a liar, I know that I am not and my
references know this fact. He keeps on saying that he's a 37 year old man
who "doesn't have time for these games". I'm a 24 year old man with a
solid job.
As for you Barbara, I sincerely apologize if you were dragged into it.
If you can provide me with more details of your trades with Glen, and a
small list of references, I will certainly post a retraction about you.
I would also suggest that you request Glen to remove your name from his
reference list.

Please tell me how I "tried" to rip you off. This is the first time I'm

Let's just say that from your initial reference list (which I still have
BTW), after I suspected that I was being ripped off, I emailed them again.
Most of the accounts were off and I received no response from the others.

Tell me, if I didn't send you the cards I was supposed to send. Did I
miss something? Please elaborate. Also, even if that was the case, does
that give you the right to keep the rest of the cards that I did send?
Basically, what you're saying is that if I missed giving you one card, you
could say that I tried to rip you off, and keep the rest of the cards.
So what was wrong with what I sent you?

Hmm, I would put my reference list against yours any day of the week.
Does anybody want to see that? I'm willing to stake my whole internet
reputation on this issue. You talk the talk, but are you willing to walk
the walk? If you agree, then we should send our refs to a reliable person
like Lynne or Jim, and let them check out our refs. Are you game?

Wow, this is unbelievable. I sent the mail registered from Canada to
Glen. This would mean that Glen or somebody at his address would have to
sign for the package. I instructed Canada Post to initate a trace on my
package to confirm. And this is what they found:
The package was delivered on Feb. 19, 98. In fact, you weren't home
intially when the package arrived, and UPS had to redeliver the package,
which was signed by Kristy Hyatt. I have a copy of her signature RIGHT
HERE. This means that I caught you in the lie! If anybody wants a copy of
this letter, just email me. I'm willing to send copies of this letter at
my expense. Barbara, you want proof that Glen's a liar, I got it right
here. If you want me to send you a copy, just email me your address.
As for the nothing in the package, that's totally ridiculous. Yeah, I
would spend more money to send you an empty package. Get real! Also, you
requested that I send first. How could I rip you off when I'm sending
first??
Barbara, if you want to see my refs, you got it. Just say the word.

I just thought of something, Glen. If she never signed for anything,
then how did I get her name? Pulled it out of thin air?
BTW folks, this letter that I have is signed by a representative of
Canada Post (quebec division) with her name and phone number.

I don't have the right? What's that supposed to mean? If she can provide
proof that she's a good trader, I'll certainly apologize publicly. And I'm
willing to send her a list of my refs to prove that I'm not some person
with too much time on my hands. My beef is with you, not her. People make
mistakes, and I'm willing to make amends. Let me reiterate that my sole
goal from all this is to warn people about you, not her.

One of those was from you, and you also sent me a list of other things
you had, including the nine inch nails bootleg video. As I told you, I
was ordering it for a friend's birthday the next week. I asked you how
much it would be, and you replied that it would be $20 plus postage ...
I made it $25, so you could send it by 2-day mail. I mailed the money
to you on April 14th.
In the two weeks that followed, your emails varied from saying you never
received it, to you received it and were sending out my video, to you
had already sent the video, and then the last one turned around and said
you had never received it. When I questioned this - after you'd already
admitted you'd received my money - you never responded.
I sent you another email early this week, basically asking how you
could live with yourself after breaking that young boy's heart?
I've only made 2 trades since I've been on email. One was with Jeff,
for the StarGate cards. Within a week of my mailing the money order, I
had 7 sets of cards at my doorstep waiting for me.
The other was with you. It's been nearly 2 months.
You hurt me, you hurt my friend, and you hurt everyone here, by not
being honest.
I guess I'll never get what I paid for ... I only make one request.
Next time you screw someone over, at least do the courtesy of asking
first.
Thanks for opening my eyes to the crimes online. I will probably never
trade online again. All because of you.

SEnd a check? I was going to trade cards for those items. There was no
money involved whatsoever. Like I said before, I can prove that Glen is
lying when he says that Kristy never signed for that package. Also, if I
was going to rip you off, why would I send the package by registered mail?
That doesn't make sense. I'm paying money to send an empty package to you,
where there would be a record of me sending an empty package to you.
That's a bloody joke.

Buddy, I don't know what you're on, but cut the dosage. You've been
lying to me from the start, and you're still lying to me. You want to slam
me on AOL, go ahead. You've taken the joy out of internet trading. I
agree with Mitch, this event has soured me big time. Is this a personal
vendetta? Yes, but you would be mad too if he took over $400 of cards from
you. I won't rest until I get my items or you're off the internet forever.

Subject: (TrekTrade) The Glen Saga Continues
Date: 29 May 1998 15:02:08 -0400
Hi all,
I really don't want to get in the middle of this, but I have seen
way to many posts about him in the newsgroups not to say anything. I was
about to trade Glen an uncut card sheet for some tapes, and everything was
going good, but I decided to check him out. I found quite a few bad trader
alerts about him and his various other aliases .When I asked him, he said
that he had only had a bad dealing with one person, but I asked the people
what had happened [I wrote to two people who said he was a bad trader], one
said that he had ordered some hardware, and after continually sending
messages he got it, but it was opened, dirty and in bad condition. The other
person said hw never even got his stuff. So I decided against trading with
him.
This post is no notify people about him. I just went to dejanews and typed
his various names in and got a few hits, most of which talked about him as
being a bad trader. I'm sure if any of you who gets this email, and does the
same thing, will geet the same results. So again, I say I don't want to get
in the middle of this, just inform the people about the info that is out
there about him. I mean, if people out there wrote that about him, then the
people here deserve to see it.

with one exception... and that person knew it.. but wanted
it anyway... it was brand new... and unused.. the actual
drive was still sealed in the package it came in.. but the

absolutely everything i have ever sent out to anyone computer

Dejanews is a website that lets you search all listsings in all newsgroups,
it is not a newsgroup itself, but lets you read the newsgroups if you don't
have a browser for it.

Exactly, I DID NOT post a bad trader alert for you. I said I backed out, and
to check dejanews, and let everyone form their own opion. If I saw postings
about you being a great trader, then I would have posted that, but all I
have seen are bad trader alerts.

Ok, let's see if I got this right. You said in a post earlier today
there were TWO people. Now, you say there are three, but one is not on
here and the other two are the same person? Excuse me?
Glen, I've had it with you. You've stolen from me. You've apparently
stolen from the other individual on this list who sent you something you
claimed you never received. How many others are there out there that
you have stolen from and then lied to? You know who you remind me of?
The Ferengi. You are greedy, you lie, you've stolen, you cheat people
out of their hard-earned money.
Your story keeps changing ... First it's two people, then three, then
you've never had a bad trade, then this, then that. Glen, Kristy,
whoever you are this week, I just don't know how you could possibly live
with yourself. You, Kristy, and I all know you've stolen from me
directly. Or is it her that's doing all your dirty work, stealing from
you and hiding the evidence?
It matters not. What matters is justice.

any part of your personal quarrel."
Since I have made the above statement public, my name has appeared in at least
3 more postings on trektrade. I can't imagine how I did not make myself
clear.
But as a result of the postings, I am taking you up on your offer, William,
"As for you Barbara, I sincerely apologize if you were dragged into it.
If you can provide me with more details of your trades with Glen, and a
small list of references, I will certainly post a retraction about you."
If you are truly sincere about dragging me into this, as you say, then here is
your opportunity to get me out.
First: the details of my trades are in my reference.
Second: I will not provide you with reference names, some of whom subscribe
to trektrade, because I got into this mess because you asked for and I sent
you a reference. I will not be party to dragging another 50 plus names into
this battle. I won't even name the 3 traders who have listed me as a good
trader on their own web pages. (Out of common courtesy, I didn't even name
the trader who would not trade with me, and I don't even know him.)
You do this instead, if you are truly sincere:
Put postings asking for references for me on the trading boards and allow the
people I have traded with to speak for themselves. Post me on dejanews, all
the non-sport boards, the web rings, wherever you think a trader might be. Be
sure to include the international boards as I have 3 Canadian, 2 British and
1 German reference. And remember ebay - I have a 10 star rating there (I
don't buy alot of cards, I trade mostly).
This is not alot to ask, you did more planning and work to get my reference.
If you mean what you say above, then you should not mind doing this.
I'll expect my retraction to be posted very shortly and, of course, posted
more than once since my name was in your postings more than once.

Subject: (TrekTrade) Bad Traders...
Date: 30 May 1998 16:10:38 -0600
OK everyone, enough is enough. This list is for TRADING! Let's get it
back to that please.
As for bad trader alerts... Sometimes they are necessary. However, they
definitely need to be handled differently on this list. Since I am the
list-owner here and have final say I'm going to try and be an arbitrator
(just call me Jean Luc) to help resolve these problems. I will then post a
message that includes the two parties stories as well as my decision on
whether to remove anyone from the list or not.
So, if you have a bad trade with another member of TrekTrade please contact
me with all relevant info on the bad trade. (e.g.: who it was with, what
it was for, how much time has elapsed, what's been sent, what's been
received, what's been done to resolve the problem).
I will contact the accused to hear their side of the story. If necessary I
may request other trade references from each party (these will be kept
private). I may also ask the list for info on any previous trade dealing
with either party.
I do have a couple of other options available to me but both would require
alot more work on my part and I don't have the time. Hopefully this type of
problem won't come up very often.

Subject: (TrekTrade) Aftermarket TOS1 trading slump?
Date: 30 May 1998 17:47:14 -0800
This week, I realized that since TOS1 came out, I've gotten only two trade
offers involving them through my web page. (For comparison, I get several
offers every day involving other post-1990 sets.) Usually, I get a lot of
offers involving recent releases, but no one seems interested in these.
Any comments on this? Maybe, because its a limited edition, relatively few
people will even attempt to collect them?
After I get my TOS2 haves/needs listed, I'll have to post my lists for
TOS1+2 to Trektrade.

ask them for references too... and he would probably post bad things about
them without ever having dealt with them... as he did u...
he doesnt care who he hurts or what effects what he does has..
he is only interested in trying to make himself look good... and taking the
attention off of himself... and fabricating stories so that he is backed up..
his postings are obviously fraudulent... and he lies horribly...
that much is obvious... barbara.. u should not have to offer him references
to prove that u are a good trader to him after he assumes that u are not...
that makes no sense... thats the kind of thing he does... and look how fast
he rushed into doing what he did... when posting a bad trader alert on u..
he doesnt even know u.. but cuz i used u as a reference.. he figures
u must be evil too... im amazed that anyone on this list puts up with him...
but obviously some of them dont see thru what he is doing...
i have been ignoring the majority of his mailings.. as im sure most others
are as well... they seem to come in duplicate to me anyway... so i just
delete them... i have had many many things to say back but i figure
thats not the point of this mailing list.. so i decided against it...
i know he lied.. u know he lied.. others who know me and u know he
lied.. but its a shame that he uses this method to redirect negative
attention away from himself.. making it appear that hes doing a good
deed when in fact he is the one who has stolen from me.. and taken
advantage of the power of the posting procedure...
You do this instead, if you are truly sincere:

...i have been on ebay for months.. now.. a few months.. and i have
41 positive references on ebay... under another name... which shall
remain unknown to prevent any undue negative attraction...
god knows he would just become a member of ebay and post bad things
on there... to hurt me.. and he will probably do that to others too...
it would be interesting if he was offered that option to see what he
does with it... but i dont think its a good idea to let him have that option..
This is not alot to ask, you did more planning and work to get my reference.

....yes he did... he went beyond normal measures to deceive me.. to get me to
send him a list of references.. and to get more info from me...
how else would he know that i still have some of the items that i have sold
and traded off in my collection or list??? he uses several names and spends
and exhorbitant amount of time online plotting and scheming to hurt others
reputations.. and the whole time.. the purpose is mainly to turn attention
away from himself... and onto others... so everyone thinks.. gee how nice
and wonderful of him to warn us about so and so...
well... thankfully it hasnt worked.. and i have been trading a lot of
people...
some from this list.. who have seen that i am honest.. and i do send what i
say i am going to....
i am part of atleast ten other mailing lists.. where trading is done...
and i have never had any problems with anyone... other than the two
from this list...
it is a pity that one or two can ruin such a good list of trading and
selling...
my reference list stands up.. and i maintain that i have never ever ripped
anyone off... and that i have been in the mail order business since
1980... and online since 1995...
in my many many 1000s of postal transactions.. in that almost 20 yrs..
i have never had this kind of trouble...
but then again.. i didnt deal with that many 22 year old children...
who have little else to do but post derogatory comments and lies
about others.. some of whom they never even dealt with...
how sad... and to use some facts with the lies only makes all the
comments .. fraudulent or otherwise.. seem all that much more
believable...
thank u for reading...

Subject: (TrekTrade) retraction and apology on bamacf@aol.com
Date: 31 May 1998 22:36:06 -0400 (EDT)
Hello fellow traders. In my personal vendetta to rid the internet of
Glen Frohman (tradincards@aol.com), I've mistaken one trader,
bamacf@aol.com, as one of Glen's aliases. I hereby retract and apologize
to this trader, as it was sincerely not my intent to mark this person as a
bad trader. Furthermore, I have received good references to her credit,
and so I would consider her as an honourable trader and worth trading
with. I will post this message to all the newsgroups I have access to.
Please feel free to pass this email message along as there may be some
newsgroups or people I will not be able to reach (i.e. I don't know how to
access ebay). If there are any doubts to bamacf@aol.com's credibility,
please contact me at the above address. And even though I have not traded
with bamacf@aol.com before, I give bamacf@aol.com permission to use me as
a reference for future deals.
I hope this message clears the air on the credibility of bamacf@aol.com.
