  8. Well, Evan, Lije and I sat down and wrote our
  9. super-leet movie guide dealie.  Hopefully you all are
  10. alright improv'ers, because we're just doing scenerios
  11. and then y'all get to run free.
  12.  
  13.  
  14. I won't get into tons of detail but the basic premise
  15. is showing a typical exchange between a "participant"
  16. (for this case, it'll be anyone who comes to the
  17. table) and an outreach worker.  Participants include
  18. the police, the media, a parent, and different kinds
  19. of partygoers you might encounter.
  20.  
  21. Evan and I will "host" the video by just setting up
  22. scenes and whatever, and then everyone else (except
  23. for Thayne, who is taping it, I think. It would
  24. certainly make sense since he's the historian or
  25. whatever. Phillip, can he use your camera?  *laugh*)
  26. will rotate around, playing different roles.
  27.  
  28. Here are the "props" we will need-
  29.  
  30. Cop stuff (I have handcuffs so that's alright.) We're
  31. not going for a full on police affect.  A few little
  32. things signifying that the person is a cop will do.
  33.  
  34. A notepad and camera for media people
  35.  
  36. Candy or something silly to designate your normal
  37. raver.
  38.  
  39.  
  40. Everyone should bring their dancesafe shirts and
  41. badges for (flor, we've got one for you) when you're
  42. playing the "role" of the outreach worker.
  43.  
  44. We're still trying to find a good location but we
  45. figure IHRP will do if needbe.  If you can offer a
  46. basement or whatever, let us know.  Otherwise, lets
  47. just meet at IHRP at 2pm (pleease be ontime cos this
  48. may take awhile as is) and we'll move as quickly as
  49. possible.

  394. Hey Everyone.
  395.  
  396. I just wanted to remind you all of some things,
  397. schedule a meeting, and bring up a problem that might
  398. arise in the future and how we can combat it now.
  399.  
  400.  
  401. Please remember that while SLAP is a group of friends,
  402. it is closely related to a reputable agency that has a
  403. fair amount to lose.   IÆd appreciate it if we kept
  404. any SLAP or IHRP business confidential to only those
  405. who are involved with SLAP, and everyone else
  406. (promoters, etc.) should be on a ôneed to knowö basis.
  407.   Things that arenÆt set in stone or that are in the
  408. idea phase could easily be misconstrued, passed along
  409. as fact, and could land IHRP in some serious trouble. 
  410.  Please also remember that while for many of you, this
  411. is a volunteer job, but for others it is a career and
  412. they actually support their families on the wages made
  413. at IHRP.  Since the rave outreach is so hot right now,
  414. our actions or words could easily be taken with much
  415. more weight than we would like to realize.   The same
  416. goes true for those who say they might be working with
  417. us or say they have information about us that may or
  418. may not be entirely true.
  419.  
  420. It seems like I keep repeating myself, (well, I do
  421. keep repeating myself) but it also seems like each
  422. month or two a new reason to watch our behaviour comes
  423. up, and September is turning out to be no exception. 
  424. While IÆm not going to get into specifics about whatÆs
  425. going on because it seems to be resolved at this
  426. point, IÆll just say that someone was questioning the
  427. way some members of SLAP were doing outreach, and was
  428. upset enough about it to threaten to do some things
  429. about it.  As far as I know, Evan has gotten the
  430. situation under control, but it serves as a reminder
  431. to me about the level of trust we all must have with
  432. each other and the amount of trust we put into others
  433. who arenÆt accountable to this agency.  
  434.  
  435. That said, lets schedule a meeting for THURSDAY,
  436. September 20th. Is this okay with everyone?  I have a
  437. staff meeting on Wednesday of next week but I donÆt
  438. want to wait for another week to meet.    Please let
  439. me know if this date causes a lot of problems for a
  440. lot of people, and weÆll work something out.  I
  441. understand that Phillip canÆt make it because he works
  442. until 10 Monday thru Friday, but if I donÆt hear from
  443. anyone else IÆll assume this is okay and see you all
  444. then.

  613. from B, and we'll decide if the idea we came up with
  614. will work better.
