Subject: RS: Hershey Wrapper Hint
List members,
I discovered something neat last night and thought I'd share it.
1. save the foil part of a Hershey Bar wrapper,
2. gently Wad it up a little
3. carefully unwad it,flaten it out.
4. put it through your corrugator
when it's done it will look like it has pretty kind of crystalized veins
through it.
It shouldn't be a problem glueing either since it has paper on the back.
The next time my DH wads something up I've asked him to save I'll have to
Thank him.

MONDAY COMM #1!! - DIMENSIONAL MAGIC:
I just bought a bunch of this stuff from one of my suppliers cause I thought
it looked so cool in the sample...
If you haven't heard of it, (or know it by another name?) it's basically a
thick, gooey liquid you can squirt out of it's nozzle tipped bottle. It dries
as a raised, shiny, hard and plastic-llike bead (or whatever shape into which
you apply it -- dots, squiggles, zig zags, etc...)
You can fill stained glass images with it, create raised designs, etc...
I've been having fun with it and am offering it at over 30% off. It's
regularly $2.00 per 1oz. bottle... My price while supplies last is $1.25!
Here's the list of colors:
DIMENSIONAL MAGIC
DIM-BBlue Baby Blue 1oz 1.25
DIM-Black Black 1oz 1.25
DIM-Clear Dim. Magic-Clear 1.25
DIM-HGreen Hunter Green 1oz 1.25

As a preschool teacher, my favorite book to read is Green Eggs and Ham.
And then, we MAKE Green scrambled eggs! I have lots of fun with the
kids, because I make them brainstorm about how to make edible green
eggs. Of course, it's food coloring, but the kids will guess everything
from paint to crayons. Then we do the cooking activity, each kid breaks
an egg, we all get a turn to whisk them around, then I add the food
coloring, 2 drops at a time until it's the shade of green (yechhhhh!)
they like best. Then we scramble them up. Invariably, there are kids who
refuse to eat them. But I tell them to close their eyes and they usually
say, "oh, it smells like my Mom's (or Dad's) scrambled eggs!" and they
do try them. This lesson is great for vision vs. other senses...and the
kids get a good laugh out of it. I even had parents thanking me for
getting their kids to like eating breakfast, although they would only
eat green eggs...
So Dr. Seuss....ya had somethin' good there...! At least for MY
purposes!
Hugs,
Lissa

PLEASE try and get a list of military personnel that we could send
cards to!
Can we just do an "Any Soldier" type thing?
If it's any group we should support with our time and tax dollars
it's those who have served/are serving in the military!!

out the extra step of having to email you to ask for it. It would be even

Subject: RS: My Gramze is turning 100!!
Some of you may remember that a year ago I requested birthday cards
for my grandmother who was turning 99. Well, she's made it another
year (which I didn't expect!) and she was so overwhelmed with the
beautiful cards and that persons she didn't even know would send
good wishes to her that I would like to repeat the request for her
100th birthday!
Since we've just moved from Detroit to Austin, TX, I miss her so very
much. I used to spend every Friday with her. I won't be able to
get back there for her birthday celebration, either. (which makes
me feel even worse!)
She has spent her whole life giving to others, and is a very creative
person. She has always sewn her own clothes, including coats, hats,
undies; chalk drawings & paintings she's done, made her own jewelry,
decorated the house (and the church!). She is physically unable
to even sit at the sewing machine any more, and it breaks her heart.
(though she still crochets some- just made a granny square blanket for
my dad.
she made the squares and my aunt put them together)
She is still in her own home, too! She just adopted a couple of
kittens
(had to put her 15 year old Dalmatian to sleep shortly before I moved)
Oh! She loves the color purple, and has always worn it!
Favorite flowers are pansies (THAT'S where I get that from!)
and carnations
I know this is long, but if any of you would like to send her a card,
I would really apprecite it.
Please send them to my father, and he will deliver them.
the address will be

thank you all so much for reading this far....

Subject: RS: Collage Info
Hi All, Some info on collage: Collage comes from the French word: Colle,
which means: Glue. So basically it's a card (or painting: Matisse's later
work for example) using things glued onto the base (canvas, cardstock,
whatever). You can make great compositions with this method. You can tear
paper in forms, using different colors, move them around on the card until
you have a nice composition and then glue in on the card. You can then add
things to your hearts content: buttons, bows, grass, leaves, leather,
beads, charms, coffee beans, rice, dried flowers, pasta, srews, nails,
whatever!! You can then paint these things if you want to. Just let your
imagination do the work. Oh yeah, and you can also use stamped images of
course:-). Stamped, cut out, corrugated if you want to. Have fun,
greetings, Ria

Yes, the check is good AT THIS TIME. What good will this do me ten days
down the
road when the funds are no longer there. Yes, you could call the bank,
but then I
would have to raise my prices to make up for the cost of the phone
calls. I agree
with Fran, if you can't afford it, don't order it.

The above is *not* a commercial site, but a collection of images of
Japanese Kliban cat stamps.
I think it's a nice reference anyways.

Subject: RS: For those of you with real store front!
I have owned a couple of homes in the past 12 years, and my dream now is to
own a home with a gift shop attached...so I can be at home but be at work..
Last night a guy friend of mine was here...and I was explaining to him what I
love about rubber stamping and he was really into it...
He watched me make a Herty Gerty BOx for his daughter...
He suggested when I get my house with a store in it...to put in a picture
window, and let people watch me work!!!!!!!!!!
I think that makes so much sense to have someone sitting in a window...or in
Californina or other parts of the country that are warm all year
long...(outside at a cafe table just sitting and demo-ing to all passer
- -bys ! If you do it outside and people actually talk to you...you might
invite them to sit and try it!.....send them in the store to buy your stuff...
By the way you might do a couple of birthday cards...and have some store
bought birthday cards there, and show them that for the expense of buying a
couple of stamps and paper they could actually save money after two or three
cards.......
Just a thought ...A good thought Kathie

I think it's important to let our friend sknow when they've really helped
us and in general, how much their friendship means...but...
If you really want to make sure you are not misconstrued, don't make this
a valentine's day card, or send it around then.... a "you are a good
friend and mean a lot to me" card is appropriate anytime. Even if your
intentions are wholly sincere and on a friendship only basis (and it
soundds from your post that they are just a teeny bit blurred by wishing
there could be aromance) his girlfriend could find aa "valentine" from
another women a bit of a threat. As a friend, do you want to put him in a
potentially awkward position, even with good intent?
