Subject: Re: RS: COMPUTER GENERATED SAYINGS
Hi!
I'm not a purist either. I use my computer for saying also, ALL the time!
I also use my computer to make some of my cards. I scan the stamped image
(I OWN ALL THE STAMPS I DO THIS WITH) and resize as needed. This works
great with shrink plastic. Just blow up the image, print it out right on
the plastic, color (or use the computer to add color) ,cut out and shrink.
Yes it does smear so you must be careful. I used this method to make bunny
earrings for the last convention I was at, and they were a big hit!
BTW...I have quite a few sayings I'll send to you if you like.

: I recently realized I could do sayings on my computer for cards and I'm
: really jazzed about the prospect because lets face it I'd rather spend
: my stamp money on stamps of designs rather than a few words. Besides I'm
: one of those type of stampers who has to have 25+ different Thank You
: stamps because of the different fonts to match the style of cards I'm
: making and this can run into some serious bucks, with several different
: fonts to choose from it will be great to have any style at your finger
: tips. I must say I haven't done much with this idea yet besides test it
: out and make sure I could get it the right place for my card, I did it
: with my Azadi Craft Page designer software. But I hope to make this a
: regular part of my stamping. Sometimes too you can't find a stamp that
: says what you need it to.
:
: Some purist stampers might not like this idea, but personally I don't
: look at a verbage stamped inside the card as a major artform, I'm more
: interested in the whats on the front as the artwork.
:
: Of course this doesn't mean I'm not going to use my verbage stamps
: anymore, if I've got it I'll use it, it is quicker, but it will make me
: stop and think before I buy more, I might just start keeping a little
: notebook with good sayings in them to refer to at another time.
:
: Just my humble opinion, what does anyone else think?

From: "Rachael Innes" <Rachael_Innes@qmail4.nba.TRW.COM>
Subject: RS: Collaged Interior Handmade
Hi everyone!
Just wanted to post an update on this swap and let the
new list members know about it. The original announcement
is below, and a list of all the participants to date, is listed at the
end. Everyone is still welcome to join.
Rachael :-)
Original Swap Announcement:
NAME OF SWAP: Collaged Interior Handmade Book Swap
HOSTED BY: Rachael Innes
EMAIL: Rachael_Innes@qmail4.sp.trw.com or
riCATS@aol.com
DUE DATE: March 15th, 1998
STATUS: **OPEN**
Non-list members are welcome to join as
long as they have an email contact.
DETAILS:
* Send 10 books, get 10 back. If 10 is too many you can send less
(ie. 5 for 5), however, I'll be able to send you a much better assortment
with 10. This worked out great for my last book swap.
* Books must have a collaged interior. The format of the book itself is
open, however, accordian styles lend themselves well to collaged interiors.
The exteriors can be collaged or not, hard cover, soft cover, clay,
something crazy :-), or whatever.
* Words are not required but are okay as long as they work with the
collaged interior.
* Rubberstamps are not required but always welcome.
* Books do not have to all be the same. (Though it's easier for me to
choose which one I'm keeping if they are at least similar. :-)
* Color copies or scanned copies of collage elements are okay if you
have only one of an item. Color copies of the entire collage are also
okay if it is financially restrictive to copy the individual elements.
* Detailed mailing instructions will be included in the acknowledgment
message. Extra $$ will be returned.
I think I've answered most of the questions I got. Please let me know
if anything is unclear.
If you're interested in joining, please email me and I'll send you an
acknowledgement message entitled: Attn: Collaged Interior Book Swap
Participants. I'll include my mailing address and detailed mailing
instructions.
Those who have expressed interest so far (and I will send you
acknowledgements soon) are:

You aren't the only one!!! I have a few things from last April's stamping
convention that I'll get around to one of these days. I have tubes and milk
carton containers never sent; paint never opened and a few stamp sets not
even used yet. There's always tomorrow.

Should we kill them before we put them in the mail, or leave them whole?

I drive a silver 1992 Buick LaSabre. Love it and it takes us on those long
trips to Florida to see the kids in comfort. My hubby drives a red 1988
Chevy 4x4 short bed pickup.
Use to think I'd like a Jag but after seeing how much time they need in the
shop keeping in tune, no. But I still would like to own a 1956 MG ragtop
that I was going to buy after graduation but got married instead. Never
regretted the decision but still like the look of that car.

HA! And you all thought you'd get rid of me for good LOL!
I"m feeling much better, so it's off to work tomorrow (Tues) and no more
lying around at home drinking cups of tea and playing with the cats.
I'm still catching up on replies to everyone, but I do want to say a big
"THANKS" for all the encouragement I received. My family didn't bother
to check on me at all during all this or even seem to care about me, but
my list family (my 'real' family in a big sense) along with several
friends and even some strangers were there for me!
Take care all,

Just a note to drop you a line,
To let you know, That we are fine. You're the nicest kind of friend it
seems
That certain folks we meet
Are thought of for a while
And others are remembered for their smile.
But those who stay within our hearts
Are very very few
And this is just the kind of friend
That I've found in you. You will find,
as you look back upon your life,
that the moments you've
really lived are the ones
when you did things in the spirit of love. Once in a while we find someone,
On whom we depend
I know, b'cos I found in you
A really wonderful friend. A special friend is
Blending of loyalty
And cheer and love,
Faith and trust and kindness, too
In short, its someone just like you. Yesterday is the past...
Today is a gift...
And, Tomorrow is hope.
Live each day to the fullest. I'm glad we're friends
You're nice to be with,
Lots of fun,
You're understanding, too!
You're all the things
Good friends are made of--
I'm glad I'm friends with you!
We'll always be friends. I just wanted to let you know
that I have'nt forgotten about you.
We have so much to catch up on..
Its seems I have a million
things to tell you,
But somehow, there's just
never enough time
to do all I'd really like to do. I miss sharing
the day-to-day things in our lives.
So often when something interesting
or exciting happens,
I find myself imagining how you might react.
In fact, thinking of you always
brings a smile. Good friendship is a rich
embroidery of kindness warmth,
and steadfast loyalty When I think of you,
I think of all the good times we've shared
and the memories that you're a part of
I'm glad we're Friends., I love having you to laugh with,
to talk, to be close to and to care for...
I'm so glad you're my best friend. One thing I'll always treasure
Whatever gifts life sends,
Is the memory of the happiness
We've had just being friends. Friends are hard to find that are truly real.
When you find those friends that stick with
you through thick and thin.
You are of those that will
be till the end of time.
I'm glad to have one so great as you!
