Subject: RS: TAN: Smell of Rubber...use to be I love this group
In a message dated 1/19/98 1:34:38 PM, Stampnyama@aol.com (Linda) who is lost
but happy, writes:
>And I LOVE the way that rubbers smells !!!!!!!!!!!!!!
This reminds of a funny thing that happened to me this weekend. I was
watching all the kids (my 4 and my brother's 6) while DH and my big bro were
doing the guy thing with their power tools. The kids were playing so I
thought I'd get some rubber HALO'd. My sister walks in the house and I'm
sitting there surrounded by rubber, my eyes closed and sniffing that wonderful
cherry smell....and she starts laughing...wondering what in the world I am
doing!!!! LOL So I said you gotta smell this stuff!! So all the kids and my
sister is smelling it now and sayin' "Yuck! This does NOT smell good!" !!!!!
They've always wondered, but now they really DO think I'm crazy!!!!
ROTFLMBO!!! I really do think you must be a rubber addict to appreciate the
stuff!!!
Smiles,
Tricia = )

Subject: RS: Thanks Ant Judy
Judy Hornbrook sent me a package of cards and such a while back that I have
not yet acknowledged. Thank you very much for the extra goodie in the cute
little envy you made. It has a rollagraphed design all over it,and was
corrugated before folding and gluing. I really like this idea. The cards
you sent are fun! As a swap hostess, you are fantastic. You took care of
me, even when my cards didn't get to you in time. That is definitely going
the extra mile!
Thanks so much for your kind understanding. I finally feel in control of
my life again, and I appreciate everyone who put up with my flakiness over
the holidays.

Me gusta la chihuahua, es un perro magnifico y bonito.
If you want to say it like you REALLY like it you might say:

The verb "amar" (where I learned spanish, anyway) is used more for romantic

Subject: RS: I Have Foreign Currency and Egyptian Artwork... Wanna Trade?
DH had spent the last 16 years of his life in the US Navy. As a result, we
have accumulated a large amount of Foreign currency both paper and coin. We
have money from Egypt, Japan, Italy, Brazil, France, LOTS of South American
money and various other countries. He is keeping one bill and one coin from
each country, the rest he has given to me for collages. Frankly, since I
don't do a lot of collages, it would take me forever to use it all. None of
it is valuable...all items are worth less than $5 in US funds. If you have
something unique or intresting and would like to trade, just let me know. Oh,
I also have some BEAUTIFUL Egyptian paintings on parchment paper (yes, they
were purchased in Egypt). They're beautiful and very expensive stateside. DH
traded (of all things) a lighter for them. I have more of them than we will
ever hang, so if anyone is intrested in them I'll trade those, too.

Hi Elise and the rest...
I have Epson and the ONLY way to EP something printed out is to use
really glossy cardstock and be quick with that EP!
I have a question though...can we use copyrighted words from- for
example, Printworks or Darcie's to use with our computer fonts?

I love to use paper...magazine cut-outs, exotic papers, textured paper,
old maps, old envelopes, patterned paper, ... well, you get the idea...

I have used washers, and metal screen on a collage card

metallic ribbon, metallic cording, metallic webbing or tassels, and I
think sealing wax adds an elegance.

I have used the foil from Hershey kisses to surround a hershey kiss stamp. I
mount the stamp inside the foil (rubber cement one side of the foil to a
card) for a 3-d effect. Also, I've cut out chocolate chip cookies from a bag
and used those on a card.

Subject: RS: Need More Collage items?JUMP IN here.
I love collage cards. Would you share with me the answers to the
following collage item questions?
What is your favorite item to use on collage cards?
What is the "oddest" item you have used on a collage card?
What makes the most elegant addition to your collage cards?
Would like to collect these in a collage items booklet.
Please keep your answer to a minimum as to take up
the least amount of line space. Thanks (I hope that
didn't sound rude, because I didn't mean it that way.)
Hugs,

I'm not quite sure what you mean about disolving the embossed part. I
emboss after coloring with the Trias, but you have to be fast! I often
can only do small sections of coloring and embossing at a time, but it
does work.

Subject: Re: RS:Kromecote and the copier
I'm not sure what Kromecote is, but if you're talking about poster
weight paper, perhaps I have a better solution...
Artco in Lakewood Mall,( maybe one on 6th Ave in Tacoma also) has a die
cut "machine" Hand cranked machine--lay your paper on die pad (a metal
die imbedded in foam), move crank and voila! you have a box all cut and
SCORED--is this easy, or what!?!?!
They have poster paper in gold and silver, have to cut it to fit
machine. You MUST
buy paper from them, otherwise it's free. I made about 40 boxes this
way in very little time. I had pieces of gold (on one side) left, so
cut out stars, snowflakes, etc. for gift tags. Took time to cut paper to
fit pad. Have a shopping bag box, and one I call yin/yang where two top
pieces slip together to make a circle--an elegant box that is 1" high,
and 4x4" across and wide. Maybe others.
A huge supply of papers, so maybe they have Kromecote in letter size
there. It cost me $1 a poster for four boxes. Saved scraps to corrugate
and it looks great.
Called my paper/box/stamp-expert friend and she doesn't think Kromecote
would work in copier as it's too shiny and ink wouln't stick.
Let me know, Jackie if you're coming over here and I'll help! I have a
brace to wear from repetitive stress problems doing my daughter's
wedding. Not complaining as I had FUN and will happily do it for my
sonny, too.

Subject: RS: Thank you swap cards received
Sorry to be so slow in posting, these beautiful cards came last
Thursday. I am not good at descriptions, only know enough about stamping
to be dangerous so please forgive me if I label your cardstock or
technic wrong.
Carol: a white linen like cs stamped with a Hero Arts word stamp (thank
you in several languages). Looked like she used a rainbow type pad or
colored directly on the stamp. This is trimmed and layered on purple cs.
Inside is a stamp of a package with tissue spilling out the top embossed
in gold and a border drawn with metallic pen (I think).
no name: Stamped on white card stock, a very nice rose corner stamp,
looks like it was colored and shaded with colored pencils. The "Thanks!"
stamp is done with a multi color stamp too, lovely card, who did this
one?
Dona: on white linen like card stock, she stamped the PSX pear tree
embossed in gold. Also embossed in gold the Delafield "Thank you". The
lower edge of the card and the flap of the envelope are both trimmed
with a decorative scissors and gold applied to the edges (how is this
done Dona, it sure adds a nice touch)
Barbara: One of PSX small rose stamps done in gold embossing and
beautifully colored in pink (green leaves of course). This is layered
over a piece of pink mulberry like paper and then layered onto the white
card stock, set off to the right. On the left side is a "thank you"
stamp also in gold embossing and a fine pink line is drawn on the edges
to finish the card. Very, very nice card.
Susan: A dark green card stock, corners rounded, and a heart corner
punch used in each corner. A gold ribbon runs down the middle of the
card. "Thank you for your kindness" is stamped on grey card stock that
has a fine fibre in it, this is trimmed and placed near the top of the
ribbon. A lily flower stamp is also done on the same grey cs and trimmed
with the same decorative scissors and placed farther down the ribbon. A
very nice card.
These are all wonderful cards, and will go in the scrap book I am
starting. I will refer to these cards often to get my newbie creativity
kick started. Thanks so much for the great examples.
