Jaimee, you are so sweet for the virtual RAK. The bear is really cute
(gotta love those heart sunglasses). I downloaded the song (Hello Again by
Neil Diamond) and it was really pretty.
Thanks and I enjoyed meeting you yesterday. You're very welcome for the web
pics.
Cheers!!!

Subject: RS: Free Swap Cards!
I am cleaning my stamp room (yes!!) and have come across 2 packs of swap
cards that were sent to me a couple of years ago, when I was a "newbie". I
will be adding from swap cards I have collected and want to pass this entire
collection along to another "newbie" with the understanding that someday you
will pass along a similar offer. There are some nice ideas in these cards. I
will pay postage, but would really appreciate a handstamped card
acknowledging receipt. First genuine newbie (I don't know how I'm going to
tell, but if I recognize your name, you probably won't get it!) to reply gets
the package. I will post as soon as it is spoken for, since I anticipate
multiple responses and may not be able to answer all privately. Please watch
for the "Gone" post. Thanks. Oh, of course, I need your snail address, too!
Non-US newbies welcome, too! Mona

My occupation is: Work for the Federal government. My background is Medical

I collect stamps/images of: everything, really. I tend towards bold rather

I prefer stamps: mounted. I am just starting to mount my own.
At last count, I had this many stamps: probably a couple hundred.

I really don't like these kinds/styles of stamps/stamping: I like then all. I
don't use a whole lot of glitter, but I love confetti...
I first discovered rubber stamping: I got a taste in the early eighties, but

Subject: RS: TAN HomeMade Christmas KIM BURKETT
Kim,
Here's the quickest and easiest, but nicest, thing I make for people at
Christmas time. I buy a bunch of really small bottles (from Cost Plus
Imports, 59 cents or something) and then put vanilla beans (cut into 1"
pieces and then split open) and fill with brandy. Do this in November and
then on Christmas day you are giving ready to use vanilla! People can use
it right away in any baking they want to do. I use pretty high quality
beans (I get them from William Sonoma) but even though they're expensive,
they go far. You only have to use about 1/2 of one of those long beans in
each little jar, so you get 6 jars of vanilla from each tube of vanilla
beans. You can use the vanilla beans you get at Safeway but they're not as
fresh and juicy (they get dried longer) so you'll have to use more and let
them infuse longer. Finish off your little jar with a pretty ribbon or
raffia.
People always think I went to so much trouble. The hardest part is getting
the brandy into that little tiny hole (I bought a special funnel that's
really for filling lanterns with oil).
Cheers!!!
Christine

Subject: RS: More Unmounted Stamps & Supplies Update
Hi again,
I need to know a couple of more things, hope you all can help. I have
a few spanish words and related images - does anyone speak spanish that
would be interested in these images? How about teacher related? Spanish
teacher words?
For those who have asked for Christian or Jewish images, there are some
and I will send them to those who have asked for them. I have to admit
though, there is one word image that I think is Hebrew - I hope it is and
is something you'll like. If I'm wrong, please plan to return it for the
next swap, okay!
Next, I need to say this - Please stop apologizing for sending in what
you all think is tooooooo much unmounteds and other items. When I wrote
up the swap specs, I said to send in ANY amount you'd like to swap and I
meant it. I've had such a huge response to this swap, I guess I didn't
expect it but I'm so happy so many of you were willing to participate.
Also, please don't feel sorry (or any other such term) for me! I wanted
to host this swap and, although it's been a large task, it has been fun
too. I've getting to see a lot of images from companies that I have not
been able to afford to order from and - here's the best part gang, I get
to pick what I'll swap my unmounteds and supplies for! It may take a
while to complete this task but you'll all be getting something ASAP!
For those of you who are willing to play in the next swap and therefore
have me hold on to anything I'm unable to swap this time, I really
appreciate it. If I end up holding onto some of your postage stamps, it
will be carried over for it. On this subject, and if needed, if you sent
in enough for a priority postage and your package can be returned to you
for less, would you prefer your package be returned priority or 1st class?
For those of you who have replied and offered me further definitions of
what you'd like, THANK YOU! I'd still like to get some input for wants /
want nots from Caroline Wood, Debi Lym & Ann Koussa, Marvinette Karasek
and The RubberGoddess.
Now, would you all be interested in who send in the most?? Well, the
largest package was sent in by Michele Pryor, it weighed almost 12 pounds!
As far as unmounted rubber - Julia Sidebottom sent in almost two and a
half pounds! Karen Glover, Michele Pryor, MER and Mariann Skears all sent
in over 1 pound. The rest of you who sent unmounted stamps sent in less
than a pound. As for supplies, Michele Pryor sent in a lot of supplies,
her paper products alone weighted over 8 pounds, next was Mary Claypool
with just over three pounds and then Kathy Facemire with over two pounds.
After that, each with over one pound of paper was: Tricia Bordell, That
Durn Stamper, Karen Glover, Ann Koussa and RubberMaid.
I'm having such a good time looking at and sorting through all the
images, papers and other supplies sent in. I appreciate all of your kind
comments and, as I wrote above, I will get this task completed in as
timely a manner as possible. I appreciate your patience.
If anyone is interested in the teacher stamps or who speaks spanish and
wants the images I wrote about in the first paragraph, please let me know.
Thanks all,
Stamperfly

From: Val Kildaw <glenco@telusplanet.net>
Subject: RS: VAL RECEIVED FALL SCAVENGER PACKAGE
What a great day I had yesterday. I was able to get to the post office
before they closed last night to claim a package they were holding for
me.
It was my fall scavenger hunt package from GUESS WHO.
I received: A bag of Mulberry Medley Potpourri - absolutely
wonderful!
A bag of multi colored, fall leaf shaped pasta - we
love pasta.
Three sheets of tissue paper, sort of multi colored
going
from orange, brown, yellow, orange, rust. I've never
seen
any like this before it is gorgeous.
A Fall Card: a lovely card, but no name inside - NO
FAIR!!!!
Terra Cotta Tapestry EP - I don't have this, but I
can't wait
to try it. I have the verdigris and like it, so
this will be great.
A tube of copper glitter glue - I don't have this
either, I love it.
A bag of Autumn Leaf Confetti. - Great!!
Two packages of fall stickers - I love stickers.
A specialty card - which I don't know the name. It
is square,
and cut like a Chinese Lantern sort of. Awesome
idea. The
instructions were included. Thanks so much.
The most beautiful piece of Fall type ribbon I have
ever seen.
It is black, wired, but has apples and pumpkins with
gorgeous
Fall colors.
A whole Box of Hazelnut Flavored Coffee - my
absolute
favorite - Thank you, thank you, thank you.
Two little tiny round boxes with lids on. The lids
are painted
with pumpkin faces. These are so cute
Two wood mounted stamps - Neither of which I have so
these
are much appreciated.
Two sheets of stamped fall images. One for
Thanksgiving and
one for Halloween. I love the turkey - who makes
him?
Ten sheets of a wonderful assortment of cardstock.
An assortment of sweets, lollipops, hershey kisses,
etc.
Some black mixed with irredescent shred type paper
for embellishment.
(This was scattered through the box to protect the
goodies) and all were
wrapped in another piece of beautiful bronze colored
tissue paper.
Lastly, there was a Harvest Bounty Casserole Recipe
in there. Looks
yummy, and I cannot wait to try it. The recipe says
by: Eula Fern Lang.
Could GUESS WHO be Eula Fern Lang?
I may never know, cause my sender didn't sign her
cards. Please
come out, come out whoever you are!!!!!
And thank you for sending me such a wonderful Fall
Scavenger Hunt
package. It was so much fun opening it up. I know
you have been torturing me ever since you put it in the mail<VBG>, but
it is finally here and I love everything. Thank you so much.
Stampin' Hugs

But trees are much easier to replace than the oil that
is used to make acrylic. I think that re-usable acrylic
mounts (HALOS) are great, but on a one on one basics they
are very bad for the enviorment in my option.
