Subject: RS: 3-D Glue ??
I was at the local Michaels today and I met another stamper and she was
looking for 3-D Glue, I had never heard of this and she told me that it puffs
but turns 3-D and you can make grass stand out etc with it.
I now that its not the same as Liquid Appl. or the foam mounting stuff.
Has anyone ever heard of it and can you color it ??
Thanks,
Maria

Just returned from my regular Sunday trip to
Hobby Lobby & found packages of fun wire in
gold & silver. For those of you who would like
to get some , it is with the Christmas things,
look where they have the metallic tassels &
bead garlands. You get 1 oz. for $1.99.
It takes a lot of this wire to make an oz.
Have fun with it!

Subject: Re: RS: Unmoounted Stamps - HALOS
Jean,
Don't do it - you'll soon have thousands of stamps staring at you if you
do! LOL! I had the same question as you last November. I didn't even
try the other methods since HALOS (I'll forward you lots more on that
from something Sheryl sent last year) sounded pretty cool. At that
time I had something like 15 stamps - and they all cost plenty! So
I would agonize over which stamp to buy - this one or that one? Or maybe
that one instead? Now I don't agonize any more - I get them all! (Not
really, of course, but I do get lots of what appeals to me, so I'll have
it when I think up a fun way to use it.) If I hadn't found HALOS,
stamping
might have quickly gone by the wayside, like other craft things I have
done.
HALOS and this fun list have really made stamping a big part of my life.
Because with ums, it's not just twice as many stamps - grab bags and
pounds of rubber really increase the amount. And special sales - Melanie
and
Stampo have both done 1/4 the price of mounted (they may not again but
someone will) and Appelachian Arts did $1 a die just recently. Evolving
Images, Appelachian Arts, and Hansen Arts plates are a great bargain,
especially when they discount even further. Others also do sheets of
rubber - SCP, Jayhawk, and Anne-Made. And Sheryl Porter does super grab
bags! So does Jim Stephans and Stampo's pounds are great, too. And then
there are the um round robins, in case you don't really like something or
get duplicates. I now have around 3000 stamps, counting the ones I have
on order. Some I like much more that others of course, but it's
surprising how often I use something from a pound or grab. I'll look at
a card and think - it needs a butterfly of a certain size or a little
animal and often, I have something just perfect. And lots of my cards
main images are from
grabs, too - almost all my swaps were Melanie's Rubber Anarchy after I
got
a couple of pounds of her rubber. In fact, now I've got lots more of
her stuff and most swaps I still use at least one of her images. And,
yes,
this is an endorsement for all of those that I mentioned!
Now, my problem is organizing them, but I'm slowly getting that done.
There are so many advantages of the HALOS (some are also advantages for
the other ways that I haven't used). Storage - I don't know where I'd
put
3000 wood mounted stamps! Acrylic blocks let you see to position easily
- -
I have a positioner and rarely use it. Create a placement of several
images or words on the same block and use it for all the cards you're
making (doesn't always work when using from different companies, since
the rubber height, etc. isn't always the same.) When I wanted to do
several cards with one of my fonts, each letter just touching the one
before, I couldn't get them that close on the block. So I used two
blocks, every other letter on the second. Worked great! And I've
done it for images, too. Ums are more portable - I'd hate to lug a lot
of wood mounteds around! I don't worry about the wood getting
ruined or dirty (of course, I might not anyway, but many do). I love
fitting them like a puzzle onto the loop tape and then cutting them out -
can do about 60 - 100 in an hour depending on shape and size. And then
they
are ready to stamp with. Kai scissors really help in the cutting, too,
but you'll quickly save enough money to pay for them. And then there's
the fun of playing with mounds of rubber that you just don't get by
buying
wood mounted.
Look at all the systems and choose what works for you. I'm biased - I
love my HALOS and can't imagine using the other ways.

Subject: Re: RS: Joseph's Coat
OK, here goes:
1. Ink up your brayer with a Kaleidacolor pad.
2. Run the brayer over the card stock (either in all directions or in one -
your choice)
3. Wait for the ink to dry (or, if you don't have a deferred gratification
bone, like me, use your heat tool).
5. Using a tinted (clear) ink pad, stamp your image (* note, is important
to use Little Miracle or some other anti-static powder on the card stock
before stamping).
6. Cover with clear EP. Dump EP back into container.
7. Heat as normal.
8. Using a brayer, cover entire card with black, dye ink (I use Impress
because it gives a much blacker black, rather than a brown or purple tint).
9. Wait for black ink to dry thoroughly. You can also use your heat tool to
speed up this process but be careful because it also heats up the EP again.
10. Lightly buff over the stamped image with a tissue (NOT Puffs with Aloe
- - I did that once, ruined the card). This is to remove the black ink from
the top of the EP.
Ta da!!!
Clear? If not, ask for clarification, I'd be happy to supply it. Angelhrt
also has this technique in her files and she may be able to explain it
better.
Cheers!!!
Christine
P.S. I'll be changing Internet Providers in the next few days. Please be
aware that my email address will be changing! I'll run both accounts
concurrently for 1 month and then, poof! no more Netcom.

If anyone is interested in knowing more about HALOS, I've saved a lot
of posts from Sheryl and others. I'd be very willing to forward them to
anyone who is curious. Sheryl has more important things to do, like
filling my current order! And maybe yours, too. I just sent these to
Jean, but thought I would offer to anyone else who's been thinking about
it.

Subject: RS: PARENT-CHILD Christmas swap
Subj: PARENT CHILD Christmas swap!
Date: 97-10-12 18:40:13 EDT
From: LeStampin
Hello everyone!!!
How many of you have children who stamp with you? I myself have an 7
year old daughter that is glued to my hip when the stamps come out. We fight
over who gets to open the mail when the swaps come in. Today she came up
with a wonderful idea. She wants to host a swap with me!!!! (too cute) So
together we have come up with this swap and invite you and your child, ages 6
to 9 to join!!!
and this is how it works:
5 Christmas cards from your child
5 Christmas cards from their parent
On the back please have your child sign their name and age and any other
information they wish to add.
Parents please give your AOL name, your name and stamps and techniques used!!
The cards can be mailed to us in one envelope but 2 return SAE need to be
sent in with the package. One addressed to the parent and one addressed to
your child.
Also send $3.00 to cover cost of mailing back. This will cover both
envelopes.
The cards are due to us by December 5th. So please mail them out no later
than November 30th.
Also, I would love it if your child and yourself, if you would like to, can
make an extra card to be displayed at our store.
Remember there are children involved who will be counting the days until they
get their swap cards back so lets all really try to be prompt!! (I am not a
child but I even count the days until my cards come in) LOL
E-mail if you want to play!!!
Staci and Jacqui

i think aleene's makes a 3-d foiling glue; it stays rounded, so that when you
foil it, it has dimension....but that's the only 3d 'glue' i've ever heard

I'm a Pepsiholic, too! But they've got a monopoly on my school right

about a million dollars. I don't support this so I buy my Pepsi from the
grocery store.
