Barbara,
I have burned these candles at Thanksgiving and at Christmas and never had a
problem. The fat pillar type of candle seem to over-flow and I think that
overflowing wax encases the paper design even more. Never had a fire.

I have embellishments galore!...Two grab bags in two weeks from Tonya =

Just wanted to tell you about Jennifer Satterfields card that I received
today. It is so precious....The background paper has printed bricks. In
the center is a door with cute hanging hearts (layered), at the foot of
the door is a kitty (taking a nap) on a braided rug, and next to the
door is a country milk container with sunflowers. The writing reads
"Life is Purr-Fect".
Thanks Jennifer for your beautiful card and for a job well done.

From: Elizabeth Herman <eherman@flash.net>
Subject: Re: RS: TAN: Halloween Party Ideas?
I missed the first part of this so I don't know how old the kids are that
we're giving ideas for!
An idea to use instead of the bobbing for apples (which littler kids can't do
very well) is to take lengths of string and tie around donut holes. Tie the
other end of the string to a broom stick held on the tops of two chairs. We
had the kids hold their hands behind their back and be on their knees and they
got to keep whichever donut hole they got.
Kids like the duck game at the fair a lot so we got some of our kids' outgrown
fisher price floatey toys, wrote a number on the bottom (waterproof marker of
course!) and floated them in a washtub.
Buy a bunch of the 3 for a dollar little bittey pumpkins and let the kids have
paint markers to draw faces on them.
I have lots more ideas for little ones if that's what you're needing. Used to
teach Community Education classes with a friend of mine and we had lots of
parties!

A fun idea is to freeze water in nonpowdered surgical gloves. Be care
when removing. The fingers break easy. Then you float these hands in
the punch. This idea is from Diane Thomas' Holiday Book.

Liquid Applique-white.
Cotton Balls pulled apart
I have the same santa face. A funny story--I wanted to do the face on
Green cards and didn't know about layering. So I embossed and colored
them in. I even used the flesh colored marker on the face. Well, the
santa looked as if he would toss his cookies at any minute. I sent them
as after Christmas cards and wrote on the inside
"Nobody knows how airsick I really am!"
This was the favorite cards of all my family. I now get requests for the
"sick santa" card. Sometimes now I write
"I've had way too many cookies!"

Subject: RS: RS. Fall scavenger hunt recv.EMPTY:(
I just received my fall scavenger package.
AND IT WAS EMPTY ! :(
NOT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:) (just wanted to start a lil something,
hehehe)
I received the most wonderful package from Shell or DBoucher@msn.com.
Lets see where to begin......
Ill start with the fattening stuff. I got some scary eyeballs, that were
made with chocolate and filled with peanut butter.YUMYUM! Also some
smarties I shared with my girls.(keep the chocolate for me!) And some Swiss
Miss coco: ready for these flavors......chocolate raspberry truffle and
suisse chocolate truffle WOW, cant wait to taste these!
I got a recipe for some microwave caramel corn. I will have to make some
befor Glomom leaves CA. cause she loves caramel.(sugar daddys to be exact)
Then I got the cutiest lil magnet: a Bob's Big Boy stamped and cut out
with a little coke bottle made of plastic in his hand. so cute! My girls
went wild over this one. My eight year old said" Mom make me one like this"
So I guess I will be looking for this stamp soon. LOL
Then I got some beautiful flowers that included a big sunflower, one of my
favorites. I put them in a small vase and on my table right away. I
brightened up the kitchen immediatly. Very pretty!
Also got some cute fall stickers that include pumpkins, pilgrims, small
leaves, a squirl and that thingy basket or horn with fruit, watsamacallit?
Also some wonderful card stock in dark colors. And a glossy sheet full of
(oh no, still cant remember the name) that horn or basket with fruit. This
is a beautiful stamp. I just made a trip to the closest stamping store this
weekend and almost bought a stamp like this one and didnt, now I can make
some beautiful cards with this.(even tho I dont know what it is called LOL)
Also got some pretty tissue paper with flowers. Not too sure what I will
make with this but it is so pretty I will have to find something to make. I
also got some beautiful ribbon.A rainbow of fall colors all on one piece of
ribbon. Pretty.
Got some sparkle green ep. I dont have any kind of sparkle ep,so i cant
wait to try this out. Another new item to me, is the Pearl Ex I got in my
package. Never used this befor so I just cant wait too see what this does.
The hand made things I received were my favorite. I got a bird made from
tissue I think. Folded in Orgami (i think) I dont think I could ever make
something like this. Beautiful. I also got a huge sign that spells out my
name all stamped up. It is wonderful. Shell will be sending me directions
on this when she gets back from vacation. I will hold her to this, for my
girls are dying to have their names done. I will hang this in my stamping
room for all to see.(A lil note for Shell: I will give you one week from
the time you get back to send me the directions to make this sign or you
will be making all my girls one of these to compensate me for all the
wining I have to hear til you get back. LOL:) The layered card I got was on
lt. brown card stock, with 2 shades of orange foil and stamped leaves.
BEAUTIFUL.I just got a stamp like that one and will soon steal your idea
Shell.:)
NOW FOR MY FAVORITE ITEM IN THE PACKAGE.....................
A RUBBER STAMP:
It is a jack o lantern shaped like a teapot and a small pumpkin shaped like
a coffe or tea cup, with the saying " There's Mischief Brewing"
Thats me, always in mischief.hahaha.
This was real fun. Cant wait to do it again.
My fall package will be shiped tomorrow. Here's a lil hint for those of you
who read my long discription............ My receivee lives in Ca. just like
me. Hum who could it be?????????????????????????
Thanks again Shell ! I love everything you sent.

Subject: Re: RS: way TAN:promisekeepers
As I understand it, here seems to be the issue.
The same words, used by different people, have different meanings. And
some of those words, with their "strange" meanings have very strong
emotional connotations for folks.
So.... it appears that some of the language used by Promisekeepers can be
interpreted as men being "dominant" in their homes...for some that is a
wondeful thing and for others it brings up some very scary ideas. It all
depends upon what you mean by dominant....
Multiply this out, reading and listening to wht the Promisekeepers have to
say, and its easy to see why there are so many different feelings about
this group.
An example from the other side, so to speak, comes from education. OBE
(outcomes based education) has, in some circles, come to be a really
emotionally loaded term. For most educators, though, all it means is
knowing in advance what you want kids to learn and then making sure they
learn it.
LOL-language can sure be tricky....
Hugs,
Jody who loves language anyway....

I agree!!!!!!!!
Open communications is key here...there is no relationship worth its salt
if the partners can't talk openly.
Frankly, and this may NOT apply to you, it seems to me that in many cases,
people move into physical intimacy way too quickly and therefore stress the
relationship unduly. It takes a while for trust to develop, so that people
CAN communicate openly and honestly. And sex is so very hard to talk
about.
