Subject: RS: Easy Marbleized Paper!!
Hello All!
Since everyone here has been so good with response to my constant
questions I thought it time for my contributions to the group/list! Hope
someone can use these instructions.
You need the following ---
Large sheet of white butcher paper (size you choose)
marbles (1 for each color of paint you use)
small dixie cups for paint or (1 cup per color of paint)
Acrylic Paints in color choices (I'll use red and green here)
1 old spoon for each paint color you choose
Making the paper ------
This can get messy so do outside or over some type of floor covering!
Lay butcher paper on the floor
Put 1 marble in a cup for each color of paint you are using
Poor enough paint into the cup to cover the marble
Spoon the marbles out one at a time and place them on the paper so they
sit still
When all marbles are placed pick up corners of the paper, one at a time
or get a friend to help and each will pick up one end, then move the
paper slightly so marbles roll around on the paper
Dip the marbles back in the paint if needed and repeat rolling them on
the paper till you have the marbled effect you like
Place heavy objects one each corner of the paper while it dries
End
BTW - If you have the space and kids they would love helping you make
this!!!!! lol
Enjoy

Good evening everyone,
My heat gun is giving out awful fumes when it is on and emitting heat. Do
you think it is broken? Do I need to invest in a new one? Mine is the
Comotion, white, hair dryer, type. I think I have had it for about two
years. Should I call the company?
I have been working on some swaps, so this is not a good time for it to be
broken. :-(
Thanks!

I have one tattoo!! It is a parrot on the inside of my left ankle. I was 30
when I got it and it has been 5 years!!! I have absolutely NO regrets for
getting it! I did go out and buy one of the washable tattos and wore
different ones all over my body for a couple weeks so I could decide where I
wanted it. The ankle won! I chose the inside so that I could enjoy it. My
mother does tattooing and it looks as though I am getting another one!!! (
TOO HAPPY ABOUT IT) but this time i will be wearing stamped art until i
decide where to put the next. My sister wore a stamped daisy on her toe for
a couple weeks and called yesterday, she got her big toe done!!! She loves
it also!!!
So I don't think you are crazy!! If it is something you want GO FOR
IT!!!! My next addition is the posability of piercing my nose....LOL I am
going to think on this for a while. I had it done a while back and was
alergic to the metals...but hmmmmm maybe I can try again...LOL
GOOD LUCK and HAVE FUN!!

one too.
Once it goes to the theatre again, there will be lots of little
stamp sets available at places like Toys R Us. That's where I got
a lot of my Disney stamps such as 101 Dalmation, Toy Story, etc.
They come out with these small sets with about 10 stamps in them.
They are great!

It is my understanding that PSX is now somewhat of an angel company, though
I don't know what is and is not included in their policy. As to the price,
I guess people charge what they feel the market will bear. I have seen
handmade cards in a local store here in NYC for $8-$10, that are sometimes
not much more than a couple of pieces of interesting paper glued to the
front of the card in seemingly random fashion. But hey, if someone will
pay it, who am I to say?

Subject: RS: Great Gift Recipes!
Hidy,
Here are a couple of my favorite recipes for Christmas gifts! They look
wonderful with a stamped card attached or stamped recipe card?
Gingerbread Scones
2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1 tsp ground cinnamon
1/2 tsp ground ginger
1/4 tsp ground allspice
1/4 tsp ground nutmeg
1/2 cup butter or margarine
1/2 cup currants
1/3 cup molasses
3/4 cup whipping cream
Lemon Butter
Combine first 7 ingredients: cut in butter with a pastry blender until
mixture resembles coarse meal. Stir in currants. Add molasses and
shipping cream, stirring just until dry ingredients are moistened. Turn
dough out onto a lightly floured surface, and knead lightly 4 or 5
times.
Roll dough in 1/2 inch thickness on a lightly floured surface: cut with
a 2 inch biscuit cutter. Place on a lightly greased baking sheet.
Bake at 425 for 8 to 10 min.
Serve with lemon butter
Makes about 2 dzn.
Lemon Butter ----
1/4 cup butter or margarine softened
1/4 cup sifted powdered sugar
1 tsp grated lemon rind
1 tbsp lemon juice
Combine all ingredients stirring until blended
Makes about 1/4 cup
Enjoy!!!!!

Subject: RS: ATTN: ALL SCAVENGER HUNT PARTICIPANTS--IMPORTANT!!! LONG
Hi Everyone----
I am writing this note to talk to you about a problem--a problem I would like
to clear up BEFORE I issue names and addys for the Christmas Hunt.
It has come to my attention that several of you, whose names shall remail
unmentioned, at least for the time being, have NOT sent out the package to
your receiver for the 1st scavenger hunt I hosted. The mail out date for
that hunt WAS Sept. 17th. I have some very disappointed people on my hands,
thanks to you. They entered into this hunt in good faith, and sent out the
package they were supposed to---only to be let down by YOU!
Now---I have a list of your names and if you are truly no shows, you will
NOT be included in the Christmas scavenger hunt!!! I was going to send out
the names and addys for the Christmas hunt this weekend, BUT I am going to
postpone it for a week or two. The mailout date for that hunt is Dec. 1st so
there is plenty of time to send out names and addys.
You can go ahead and start shopping for the items on the list now. As a
matter of fact, it might be a good idea to do just that. Considering that
this hunt is more expensive to complete---buying things a little at a time is
probably easier than trying to buy it all at the end of Nov when money is
starting to get tight because of Christmas shopping for family and friends.
So a good idea is to start picking up the items for the hunt NOW.
For those of ou who have been let down, I will do all in my power to track
down the people who have not fulfilled their obligation and try to get them
to make good on their commitment. Please keep me informed if you have NOT
received the package you were supposed to.
Thanks for listening----errrr----reading. That's all folks!! Barb

Mix Well and then Stir it into the glue mixture until the water is all

Subject: RS: Re: PeterPan: Blitzer--again!!
Yeah, guys... I know what a Blitzer REALLY is. Actually I get
a tad upset over the term "Blitzer"... 'cause that's the male gender
of the species. The female gender of the species is a "Flitzer"...
and they're both in the "Glitzer" family, so I'm not sure why it's
referred to as a "Blitzer".
Sorta like the mailman instead of mailperson or postman instead
of postperson or mankind instead of personkind... know what I
mean?
Even Peter Pan knew it was male... hence the fear of linebackers
that he so rightfully is displaying. Mr Evo displays similar symtoms
every time I take out my Flitzer to use... I haven't figured out why
yet, but I suspect it has something to do with his inate fear of the
feminine wiles it possesses.
My theory is... if Glitzers were made available to us commercially,
all fears and anxieties would disappear and we would be at peace
with these wonderful additions to our stamping world.

I collect Dept. 56 Snow Babies. My favorite
one is the Winken, blinkin and Nod one. 3 girls
I work with presented me with it for my 40th
birthday. This year for my birthday I got the
one that is "Which way is up" That fits me to
a "t" most of the time!!!!
I think I probably am an obsessive compulisive
collector. Anything I get involved in or take a
fancy to, I go hog wild. You can't even begin to
imagine how much different crafting supplies I
have in a room next to the t-v room on the back
of the garage.
I collect supplies for knitting, crocheting, rag
rugs, macrame lawn chairs, dream catchers,
beading, t-shirt painting, tole painting, AND
this doesn't even begin to touch the stamping
supplies I have!!! I also have quite a large
collection of the Leisure Arts Books.
Oh well, I guess there are worse things I could
be collecting huh?
Hugs
Debbie

Regarding all your tips on sticking stamps to clear envys - it WORKED!
I sent out one the other day and used a piece of self-adhesive paper to
which I stuck the stamp...well, I already got feedback from the person
who received the card, so I guess it worked! However, I was rather
disappointed with the reaction of the Post Office Worker who saw it (I
had to send it Express in order for it to get to my friend on his
birthday)...like, NO comment on the originality or the artwork or
anything! And I KNOW he hasn't seen much rubber stamped artwork,
because there are not too many stampers in my area...what gives, Canada
Post? So jaded you can't give a girl a compliment? :-{
But my friend liked it, so there...
Anyway, thanks again, everyone!

Subject: Re: RS: TAN: who s got a Tatoo?
I haven't seen all the posts on this subject, but I can't believe there
isn't someone on this list with a rubber stamp tattoo!
I've got either 2, 4, or 5 depending on how you count. Most have been
mentioned on the list before.
The first was a heart flowered wreath on my right hip bone (at age 36).
That's #1
The next was my lip color about a year ago. That's #2 if you count it,
some folks don't because it's not "art".
Then came the Girl Scout logo (traditional one with the eagle) tucked
next to the wreath one. That's either #3 or #2 (depending on if you
counted the lips).
Last was my eye liner. It's very subtle and I love it big time. That
one hurt big time. If you count those you probably counted the lips too.
So these are probably #4, or #s 4 and 5 (two eyes).
The Girl Scout one gets the most attention. Even my tattoo artist
(Laura) said that was something she never expected to see in tattoo form.
Two of my three sisters have tattoos, the last one is still deciding (all
within the last 5 years, and at 40 I'm the youngest), as do three other
women in the family. We're all pretty much slightly liberal middle class
professional folks. One time we used permanent ink and stamps to make
joke tattoos for a special event.
My hubby (who says "I don't get it, but as long as it doesn't show I
don't care") wondered why I got the GS one on the same side as the other
one. I joked that I was saving my left hip and thigh for something
really big. He absolutely went pale! He's still not sure if I was
kidding or not (neither am I come to think of it). We've agreed that I
can't get anything that shows until his parents have both passed on (so
as not to speed up the passing). So I'll probably be getting an ankle
tattoo when I'm about 70! LOL
Happy Stamping,
W.

Are you feeling old? If not, consider this:
* The people who are starting college this fall across the
nation were born in 1980.
* The Iranian hostage crisis occurred before they were
conceived.
* They have no memory of a time before M-TV.
* "New Wave" is their PARENTS musical generation.
* Cyndi Lauper, Boy George, the Pretenders, the Kinks, the
Sex Pistols -- are all old music they have heard of, if
they have heard of it at all.
* They have no meaningful recollection of the Reagan era.
* They were prepubescent when the Persian Gulf War was waged.
* If they have heard the name "Oliver North," it was probably
as a losing Congressional candidate, or perhaps in some
obscure survey history text's reference, such as might be
made to Huey Long or Teapot Dome.
* Black Monday 1987 is as significant to them as the Great
Depression.
* Their world has always included AIDS.
* Having not lived through the Disco Scare, they can
romanticize the 1970s.
* They see "Family Ties" as something middle aged ladies
watch.
* They watched "Star Wars" years ago, when they were kids --
on video.
* Atari predates them, as do vinyl albums and cassette
audiotapes; they may have heard of an 8-track, but
probably never actually seen (or heard) one.
* From their earliest years, a camera was something you used
once and threw away.
* As far as they know, stamps have always cost about 32 cents.
* The oil crisis is history of which they probably know
nothing -- and why anyone WOULDN'T buy a suburban is
beyond them.
* Most of them have probably never seen a real nun, even if
they went to Catholic schools.
