I would like to know the answer to this as I am a new vendor too and as
Sara said - I'm reputable but others don't know that yet!
Can we please sort something out so the new vendors don't miss out on being
on the list.
Thanks

Mariann,
This is a great idea . . . there's only one glitch. What about people like
me, who are brand new vendors? If we're new, we can't be on the preferred
vendor list, as no one has any experience with us. And, if we're NOT on
the preferred vendor list, how will we get any opportunity to be (people
will choose not to order, since we're not on the list).
I know I'm reputable, but of course you don't! Hmmm, there must be a way
around this, we just haven't found it!

After months of pleading by CNN, the Devil finally agreed to be interviewed
on the Larry King Show. The network spent two weeks promoting the
interview, and sure enough, the entire world tuned in to watch.
After they shook hands, Larry King asked, "Satan, you've had your ups;
you've had your downs. Tell me what you consider to be your greatest
accomplishment."
The Devil stroked his chin and thought back, and several things came to
mind, "The sinking of the Titanic," he mused. "I did very well on that one.
And the stock market crash of 1929, who saw that one coming, Larry?" the
Devil asked with a laugh.
Larry could sense the Devil was holding back. "Come on, tell us. What was
your supreme achievement of all time?"
The Devil's horns vibrated and his eyes went blood red. He leaned forward
and smiled. "Voice mail."

Subject: RS: Linda Strawn's Gardening Swap Rec'd
Oh, my gosh!!!!!! These cards are just beautiful! I KNOW my descriptions
won't do them justice (they NEVER do!), but just try to imagine them...they
are beautifully done!
By Kandu: Layered on green cardstock is a ~1" piece of cranberry cardstock
which has been crimped, mounted on the left-hand side; over that is a piece
of beige cardstock layed at an angle; then PSX bear with gardening tools is
stamped and colored beautifully on white card stock (what did you use to
color it? looks watercolor-ish) and layed on top of the beige piece. Gold
embossed on the front is "Bloom where you're planted". Darling!
By Linda Israel: White card...blue clouds stamped across the top, grass
stamped across the bottom. A sweet little country-cute girl in a purple
dress and matching hat with a watering can is mounted on the left side of the
card. On the right side of the card is a wooden wheel-barrow filled with
geraniums. Again, this is a REALLY cute card!!!
By ???: White card with all 4 corners rounded. The front of the card is
completely covered with dark green mulberry paper. On top of that is a
stamped image of a watering can with flowers inside and miscellaneous garden
tools all around. There is also a little butterfly mounted above the
watering can. Very nice. I would have never though of covering the entire
card with the mulberry paper, but now I will probably use that idea quite a
bit!!!
By Terri Bradbury: On lightweight beige cardstock, little clusters of
flowers are stamped in green all over. Mounted on top of that is a "sampler"
frame. The saying is "Plant Seeds of Kindness", and in the other "windows"
of the frame are a sunflower, some roses and a spider plant. Also, in the
largest window of the frame is a floral bouquet with a magenta colored satin
ribbon glued on top to make it look tied together. The images are beautifully
colored in with pencils. I LOVE THIS CARD, and I love that sampler frame!
By Bev Kennedy: This is a self-proclaimed "newbie", who is already doing
fantastic work!!! This card is outstanding. Off white cardstock has a piece
of medium green mulberry paper mounted in the center. Over that is another
piece of off white card stock which has been edged with "victorian" Fiskar's
paper edgers. The stamped image is an arched trellis with roses growing
through it and a little wooden garden bench sitting on one side of the
trellis. It is watercolored and an occasional rose is made dimensional with
crystal laquer. Inside the text reads: "She who has roses in her garden
must surely have roses in her heart." Bev, this card is stunning!!!
THANK YOU Linda...for hostessing!!!! I hope you enjoyed hostessing as much
as I enjoyed receiving these beautiful, beautiful cards!

Subject: RS: joseph's coat questions.. help!
ok.. I told y'all how other day I did this joseph's coat card, and aside
from it being kind of fingerprinty due, I think, to insufficient drying
time between things.. it turned out pretty good! my husband even said "I
like this one".. which is unheard of.
I never did get an answer as to how long you should leave it sit between
each step..
but anyway.. it looked pretty ok, and I figured with more time between
steps, I'd probably avoid the fingerprint thing too.
but now, today, it looks pretty ratty. I'm glad I didn't put it in the
mail the other day, cuz it has NOT aged well. the black has faded and is
somewhat blotchy, but worse than that, the underneath stuff.. the bright
vivid colors under the clear EP.. they've faded too.. and run together..
and just look kinda.. yuck.
now.. I didn't expect that.. the black part.. doesn't surprise me toooooo
much.. but the color part.. I really didn't expect that to change at all..
why'd it do that? what do I do to keep it from doing that?
please?

Subject: RS: Mailbox - Birdhouse Swap (Long)
Thank you Tracy for hostessing a great swap. I apologize for not
posting this earlier, the cards from yours and another swap got buried
under my preschool materials and I just unearthed them. Your swaps are
always wonderful!!!
Birdhouse - Mailbox Swap
These may have already been described but they are so beautiful I will
do it again!
Tracy - A We've Moved card on Burgundy cardstock. There is a set of 5
birdhouses (Stampin Up) stamped in gold flecked burgundy EP onto kraft
cardstock. The We've Moved (DeNami) is stamped in dark red on blue
plaid papaer and cut out. Both are layered on the burgundy cardstock.
Very pretty!
Karen (digger6) - Ironically Karen used the same Stampin Up Birdhouse.
The birdhouse was stamped in dark blue onto kraft paper and cut out with
small scallop edge scissors. That is then layered on matching navy blue
cardstock which has been layered on a kraft card. karen punched 2 holes
into the top area of the blue cardstock and tied a blue and tan fabric
bow. She also included the envy. I think I need to get this stamp as
both cards with the birdhouse are very beautiful.
Susan (Coffee Stamper) - A very sweet card, she stamped the Hero Arts
birdhouses (H1153) in the center of a white card and used black EP. A
very simple pink ribbon is glued across the top and the bottom corners
have been punched using the heart corner punch. Very simple and very
elegant.
Bin - Another beautiful card. You and Tracy are so talented. Bin used
Stampington & Co's Birdhouses that sit on top of each other on a light
gray card. She sponged the background in with blue for clouds and green
for grass. (I have this stencil and I can't make it look this nice!)
The Birdhouses are Ep'ed in black on white paper, layered on the card
and painted with watercolors or markers and a blending pen. She punched
a few leaves out and artistically placed them at the bottom. A very
pretty card. Bin when ever you feel like sending someone a card I am
always available. Yours are simply wonderful!
Sharon the Mouse Potato - Sharon made a very pretty card that took lots
and lots of work! On light gray cardstock the background is sponged in
blue. The picture is Stampin Up's Simple Pleasures set. There is a
park bench with flowers and birds on it plus the garden hat resing on
one corner. To the right a tall birdhouse sits waiting for someone to
come home. A white picket fence with yellow daffodils is layered over
the front and the gate even opens. The card is inscribed by hand with
Thinking of You. The inside of the card has pink dots randomly placed
from Worth Repeating's. The saying from the SU set says Simple
pleasures are life's greatest treasures. A very, very pretty card. The
amount of time and work you placed in this card shows. I'm so glad I got
one.
Wow, these cards were just so wonderful. Thank you Tracy for
Hostessing this swap.
Sherri :~)

Isn't Fargo take place in North Dakota/Minneapolis. That is a Norwegian
accent you hear. No way (sorry ND's & MN's) can AJ's voice sound like
that. AJ aren't you from Georgia or somewhere down south (or are you a
transplant). As a true southerner that now lives in the midwest, there
is a BIG difference! What a hoot? A southern accent and a Norwegian
accent, neither one would ever understand the other. It would make a
good comedy though.

WOW! My SS has been having a time of it, and just told me the other day
that my August package was on it's way, and she was already packing the
September package.
Well, maybe it was a little late, but I tell you, it really is worth the
waiting for.
On top there was a beautiful card that I pondered technique for a while,
finally deciding it was wallpaper layered on cardstock. So very pretty,
and inside announces that the theme for this month is "embellishments."
And she isn't kidding. You have to see this stuff to believe it.
On top is a little white Beanie Baby-like seal. She's adorable and her
name is Celia.
There's a package containing 4 huge vials of glitter - silver, gold,
green, white, and a whole bunch of tiny black tassels.
A ziploc bag full of ziploc bags containing such things as, googly eyes,
angel confetti, buttons, beads, charms, several rolls of chartpak
graphic tape, a glazed paperclay bear (he's sooooo cute - I'm going to
put a pin on the back of him), and about a yard of black sequin lace
trim.
Then there's some loose things, some laces, several types of craft
ribbon, one is gathered foil, one is fabric, and one is 2.5" wired paper
gold on one side and printed with a joseph coat type of design on the
other, and a Viva Las Vegastamp bumper sticker (YEAH).
THEN, there are two HUGE parchament envelopes filled to bursting with
hundreds (litterally) of pieces and sheets of so many different
embellishment papers, sticker papers, glitz and glitter papers and
stickers, corrogated and handmade papers, some delicious oriental papers
and oh so much wonderful stuff, so much of which I have never seen the
like and I can't wait to get start embelling stuff now - no more
excuses.
Oh yes, theres a bag of colorful feathers, some giant admission ticket
invitations, and several LARGE cash bills.
This is way wonderful stuff. I know this SS, must be very talented to
have enough of this wonderful stuff to share. I love it all and can't
wait til tomorrow when I can play with it all.
I'm going to use some of it to make a nice card for you SS. I'll mail it
to the address you gave me in your secret e-mail. Thanks you so much.
You're great.
HUGGS,

Subject: RS: SEALING Wax Swap--Official--sign up!
The new issue of SOMERSET STUDIO has a really nice article about using
sealing wax in your work--how about a swap using sealing wax? I have sticks
of wax, but my favorite are the Judi-Kins wax wafers--they make it so easy.
You've been wanting to try wax--you know you have......go get some and JOIN
THIS SWAP!!!
NAME OF SWAP: SEALING WAX swap
HOSTED BY: Deni Johnson
DEADLINE: POSTMARKED Oct 11, 1997 (My Birthday!!)
DETAILS: Use sealing wax SOMEWHERE on your work! (I like to make a
collage-type piece and use the wax/seal as one of my collage elements) This
will be a 5 for 5 swap (or whatever for whatever) although an extra for me
would be appreciated! Please include stamp credits.
MAILING INFO: send SAML and postage/money equivilent to sending your cards.
PLEASE put a square of bubble wrap over each wax seal, and ask your post
office to HAND-CANCEL it. A bubble mailer might also be a good idea.
Postal machines do BAD THINGS to wax seals.

Aren't you glad that life has so many choices. You may like Coca-cola
and I like Pepsi and we can still be friends without trashing what the
other person likes. Or do you disagree..... hmmmmmm.... Isn't what
you just typed on the Rubbertown list a TAN!!! I guess you're not so
different than the rest of us RSers. Come back and stay on longer than
24 hours before making a decision or enjoy the list you are on. Just
keep stamping! :)

Shaunna you said:
A few days ago I subscribed to the Rubberstampers mailing list, since
I've enjoyed this one so much, I figured more would be even better,eh?
You get alot more e-mail, more like 100+, but I was very disappointed in
the content of most postings. It seemed to be about 90% just TANS. So 24
hours was enough for me. Just wanted to let you all know how much I
appreciate this group, its much more informative and helpful. Keep up
the good work everyone! And thanks for being out there!
