LindaLoo's SSS has arranged for numerous people to send RAKS.
First from Carole Mork, a wonderful wallpaper sign that says in a
big oval in the center, "I Only Play Golf On Days That End in 'Y'"
ROFL...too true...I think I'll hang this one in our bedroom.
From Val Kildaw, a beautiful explosion card with butterflies
everywhere, Alphabet stickers, butterfly stickers, butterfly confetti,
and a wonderful Stampendous house in the country in winter.
Thank you Carole and Val and my dearest SSS - this is so much fun!

Hi Jackie:
I read your post about your return with much interest.
Not too long ago my husband and I were in a store here in Canada. He
innocently came into the store with an ice cream cone. Wow, did that
cause a ruckus!!!
Anyway, without going into details we both left. After I had calmed
down a week later, I wrote and faxed a letter to the owner/manager
pointing out about how to handle problems and customers so they don't
feel inadequate - I also pointed out that she and her staff had better
remember just who pays the bills and the payroll!!! I was very tactful,
but I did get a response and an apology about how the clerk had handled
the situation.
I think that we in business have to train ourselves and our staff to
handle any situation in a tactful manner. It doesn't matter if a
customer is spending $1 or $1000 in our store - that customer helps pay
the bills and should be treated accordingly.
Just my .02 worth.
Stampin' Hugs
Val

Subject: RS: Re: Stamp store refund policy question
I would just like store owners to be *reasonable* about returns. I wouldn't
expect them to take back something I had used and then decided I didn't
like, because they couldn't get full value for it. However, if I purchase a
stamp, get home and find I have the same one at home, turn around and take
it right back, I would hope for an exchange. I never hope for refunds.
Last week my husband rented a video at a local store. He got home and when
I saw it, I realized it was a video I had rented 2 days earlier while he
was out of town. I got right in the car and drove back...it wasn't 10
minutes after he had rented the video. The girl wouldn't let me exchange
it, it was against store policy. I found that unreasonable. It was obvious
that we hadn't watched the video and then tried to exchange it, it was an
honest mistake, and we just wanted to rent another video that we hadn't
seen before.
I know stores have policies to protect themselves from abuse, but I would
hope that when it's *clear* that the person isn't trying to get one over on
the store, that the store can be flexible with its 'rules.'

I received the magenta study group for august from Jody. It is a wonderful
piece
stamped on cork and layered several time with black card stock, corregated

and linen card stock.
It is so beautiful that I am going to have it framed. I have a perfect
spot on a wall
in my home that it will fit.
Thank you for the work of art.

Subject: RS: RAK from Stargazer
Stargazer,
What a wonderful RAK card. What a nice surprise and it arrived at a time
when I need cheering. Yesterday was the 2 month anniversary of my Dad's
death. It would have been gloomy enough with that alone, but I started my
day off by waking up crying. I had been dreaming about Dad and Christmas
and that we were all feeling sad that he wasn't there with us for Christmas
and so I was crying in my sleep and that is how I woke up. Anyway your
card was a wonderful surprise when I most needed cheer!
What did you stamp the fish and shells on? Is it plastic?
I will try to describe it for everyone...It is dark blue card stock
overlayed with a very pretty gold paper and then overlayed with the dark
blue again. It has a beautiful goldfish and sea shells stamped on the
front. The fish and shells are stamped in beautiful variegated colors.
Great card, really pretty.
Thanks again,
Brenda

A while back, someone mentioned an idea of a catalog grab bag (with old/new
catalogs & supplements). I didn't respond ealier because I had to figure
out how much I had to offer. I think I have enough for 2 grab bags.
E-mail me if you're interested. I will stuff a Priority Envelope with
old/new catalogs/supplements for $12 (includes postage costs). Let me know
what you already have or what you'd like and I will do my best to
accomodate (no promises!).
I do have some new catalogs in stock (these will NOT be included in the
grab bags): Stampendous ($6), PSX ($7.50) that you can add to the grab bag.
Just add catalog cost and another $1.00 for postage for each catalog.

AMEN!!!
I agree with you but according to Janet.. we are NOT supposed to EXPECT
package every month. *sigh* Which is why I quit because it was not my
understanding. Kinda confusing when I saw a new post by the same person
saying that SSS when signed up are obligated to send package every month.
I still have not heard from my SSS from last round. Gotten only two
packages out of 6 months. Never gotten any explaination or note or email
or from gobetween or from Janet whatsoever.
But now... I have more fun RAK'ing people on the list. Join few swaps.
Better than getting burned..
good luck and have fun

Laura-
I saw your comment that you don't know how to print out parts of messages
from the digest version of the list. I also get the digest version and it
is very easy to do. First, you need to highlight what ever you want to
print. Then cut or copy it (Alt Edit Cut/Copy or click on the appropriate
icons if your machine has them). Next open up your word processing program
to a new file (Alt File New) and paste it into there (Alt Edit Paste).
Save it! And Print it out. If it prints out ok but you don't want to keep
the file, you can delete it.
I use this method to save lots of things off from the digest versions. I
have files set up to save what I have gotten off from the net and the
list-- like sales, vendors, humor, etc. I just keep adding new stuff on to
the end of file but I should go in and do some weeding out - I just noticed
that my humor file has over 250 pages!!
If you have any questions, let me know-

Subject: Re: RS: Re: Stamp store refund policy question
If a store has a strict no refunds/no exchanges policy I don't buy from
them. There are so many stores that have a cheerfull return policy that I
don't have to buy from one that doesn't. I don't usually have to return
anything but I feel that a store needs to to stand behind the products they
sell and as far as I'm concerned the no refunds/no exchanges policy is a
vote of no confidence in the products they sell. I have bought a defective
stamp, a dried out pad, a pen that leaked and a tape runner that was
defective. I returned each to the store I bought them at without any
problems at all. Imagine the money I would be out if the store wouldn't
take them back!
Just my thoughts,
Justine

Subject: RS: Addendum to Ultimate Ink
In addition to the Home Decorating Ink by PSX, I color my images with
Design 2 art markers by Eberhard Faber. They are alcohol-based (I
think) and they are permanent. The colors go on light on the plastic,
but when they shrink, the colors are very bold. I bought these markers
at Office Max. I bought a set of 24 for 38.00. They were expensive,
but worth it!

Subject: RS: The Ultimate ink for Shrink Plastic
I have found the ULTIMATE ink for shrink plastic:
Home Decor by Personal Stamp Exchange Home Decorating Ink.
The bottle reads:
"It is a fast drying, waterproof rubber stamp ink developed for
stamping, stenciling, painting or sponging on non-porous surfaces.
Ideal for home decorating and creating fashion accessories"
I bought it at my local stamp store. It comes in a bottle and you
squeeze a little onto a cosmetic sponge and apply it to your stamp that
way. It was expensive: $5.89 for a 2 oz. bottle, but it goes a long
way and it REALLY works!
