AMEN!!!
I agree with you but according to Janet.. we are NOT supposed to EXPECT
package every month. *sigh* Which is why I quit because it was not my
understanding. Kinda confusing when I saw a new post by the same person
saying that SSS when signed up are obligated to send package every month.
I still have not heard from my SSS from last round. Gotten only two
packages out of 6 months. Never gotten any explaination or note or email
or from gobetween or from Janet whatsoever.
But now... I have more fun RAK'ing people on the list. Join few swaps.
Better than getting burned..
good luck and have fun

From: "Debbie Evans Braun" <wellnat@sure.net>
Subject: RS: "It's in the Mail" swap received (long)
This was a cool swap! Nan, thanks for hosting and for the neat
treat!
Here are the cards I received:
From:
Ann-onymous - A card of white cardstock cut with stamp-edged
scissors (cool idea!). The background is stamped with black faux
cancellations (mocha mail, middle of nowhere, USA, etc.). A red
line is drawn in marker about 1/4 inch in from the edges - this
really adds continuity! Neat. Mounted on the card are three faux
postage stamps "sloth post", "pickle post" and "ju d'Gar Land".
I dig the humor in this card! And love how it looks, too.
Jessica Edwards - On a pink granite card is stamped "First
Class" and "Priority Mail" and these are colored in red. Also in
red is written "In's in the Mail!!" There are two faux postage
stamps "Angel Mail - Heaven Cent" and a realistic Chilean one.
There's also a faux cancelation saying "Let me know if you don't
receive this"! LOL All together it's quite pretty. And inside is
stamped "for reply, send a self-abused stomped elephant to:" LOL
That one cracks me up! Who makes that stamp? A neat card!
Karan Thompson - A fun collage of stamps! Deckle edged white
cardstock is layered on a piece of brown postcard. It's got
little black "dots" as a backgroud and there is a pencil, "mail
bonding" (love that!), "friends post", faux cancellations,
"stamp by mail", "put a stamp on it!" all colored in browns and
yellows.
Nancy Johnson - Cool postcard! White paper is layered on blue
cardstock. "It's in the mail" is written in Nan's lovely hand in
the center. Looks like she scanned some real postage and printed
it on a color printer? in the corner. There's a funny dog with a
ruffle carrying a letter and a victorian woman mailing a letter.
These are colored with pencils. There's also a tiny, tiny
postman delivering the mail. A sticker of letters and an opener
and cool nanstamps of "stamp post" "mail art" and an envelope.
On the back, there's another of the stamps that looks like a
real one and the words "post card" and an envelope stamp
separating the sides of the card.
Linda Israel - A simple, elegant card. Pink cardstock with a
layer of tissue that's printed with real stamps. Hey! This is
cool looking! On foam dots are two "faux stamps", one saying
"year of the stamp and one with an angel. In the center is a
real stamp from Haiti that commmemorates the 1960 olympics.
Great looking card!
Thanks for swapping! This was much fun!

Subject: RS: Re: TAN: My Observation
Dear Melissa:
Thank you for your kind note; it was wonderful hearing from you today.
The weather here has been overcast, cloudy with intermittent rain. The
G/S and I spent the day back at his camp, where he worked outside getting
things tidy for fall, and I spent the best part of the day poring through
stamp magazines, and poking around the wood stove. I did cook dinner back
there, and on the woodstove, too: Baked beans, sweet & sour meat balls,
cheesy beer bread, sliced tomatoes.
I'm soon going to be taking back a wack of stamp stuff (cardstock, colored
pencils, edgers, etc.) ... so that I'll have a stash to play with when
we're back there in the winter. Sort of like a squirrel ... kinda nutty.
Yesterday I mailed a wack of stamp cards, a few money orders for
stamp-related purchases ... and spent $21.47 on postage!! Now ... you
tell me ... does this hobby own me, or what??
I had a cortisone shot in my shoulder yesterday afternoon, and the
orthapedist (sp-?) scheduled me for surgery in October ... so my stamping
my be curtailed for a month or so ... which I can handle, as long as I'm
fit for snowmobiling by the middle of December! Otherwise, I'll be here
all the time and ... mean!
Tomorrow, I'm going to an appointment with an optometrist to see about
getting contact lenses ... I've worn glasses for the past 30 years, and
it's gotten to the point that I can't see to pluck my eyebrows, and I can't
get the make-up on without my glasses ... and I can't wear my glasses under
the snowmobile helmet ... and the Georgia Chapter of the AJFC thinks that
contact lenses are the answer. We'll see.
I was so delighted to hear that you understand about unmoderated ...
because otherwise, dear child, I'd never be able to share some of the
highlights of my week with y'all.
I bet it really confuses you when I'm nice, eh? Confuses me too, which is
why I have to quit now.
And ... yes, I do have to the the one that always comments on stupidity.
How else am I supposed to keep in shape?
Ant Judy H.
- -----------------------snip ----------------
>>Judy~
It seems that I understand the meaning of DELETE and UNMODERATED very
well. Do you understand the meaning of JUDGEMENTAL and the statement
"CHIP ON YOUR SHOULDER"?
Oh! and thanks for proving my point. I knew you would be the one to
comment. After all, don't you always?

Subject: RS: Swap Challenge #4 **OPEN**
Hi!
Well, we've had good response to this swap, so it's official!
Swap Challenge #4
Description:
Each person will send in X stamped copies of a stamped image.
I will send one of each of these copies to the other
members in your group, and they will create a card/etc. using
the image. Then they will mail it (and the cards they make for
the other group members) back to me. After I've
received items from all group members, I'll mail the all the cards
created around your image back to you.
Groups will be 5 - 8 players depending on sign ups. So, each
participant will end up creating 4-7 different cards (1 for each
group member) and receive the same number back (1 from
each group member) created with the image they sent.
Details:
I will accept sign ups through Sept. 8th. On Sept. 9th, I will
email to all the participants the number of people (X) in their
group. Then you can decide which image to send and stamp
your copies to mail to me.
Images will be due to me by Sept. 20th and will be mailed out
to the group members on Sept. 22nd. You will send me
X stamped copies of any image you choose, however, nothing
lewd or obscene. You may request to be in a no-nudity group and
I'll do my best to accomodate, though this normally isn't even an
issue. The images can be on sticker paper (such that it can be
cut out), or on cardstock (3x5 min. - such that the remainder of
the card can be created on the cardstock if desired). It can be
colored in or embossed, or whatever you want. The recipient
is welcome to do whatever they choose with the image, ie, color
it in, mask off a portion, cut it in several pieces, etc. as long
as the image is used in the construction of a card. If you want,
you can send 2 of the same images for each person, so they'll
have an extra in case they make a mistake or change their mind.
Final cards will be due to me by Nov. 15th.
Due to the nature of this swap, please consider a sign up as a
commitment to your group to complete this swap.
If this doesn't make sense, please let me know and I'll
try to clarify it.

I received a card from Linda Neumann! I never thought of doing this. Too Cool.
In the background is rubberstamps stamped all over. On top of that, is a
little girl holding two bags, which the rubberstamp stamp is stamped (say
that three times!). On the bags, she cut a slit and placed a unmounted in
each one. This is a great idea.
Thanks Linda!

Subject: Re: RS: Observation - Backgrounds
Don't know if this has been mentioned before in regards to backgrounds - but
here goes:
Try taking one of the textured pages from your stash of wallpaper books, ink
it up, press your paper against it -- instant background texture. And the
extra added bonus is you now have tinted wallpaper for use in a collage.
What about the rest of you -- any crazy and wild ideas for backgrounds?

Now that Barb Chickie is off her soap box! I just want to say what about
the ones that do receive something and don't post it to the list or
respond to the virtual postcards, flowers, etc. That stinks too!!!

Subject: RS:School Swap received
Received my school swap yesterday. Sorry I didn't post it then. Yesterday
was the first day of school for us and I was exhausted! Will take these to
school tomorrow to put on the bulletin board by my desk. The kids love to
see the cards I put up there.
Erin did a great job hosting this! (Are you sure this was your first time?) :-)
She included some cute apple stickers that I can definitely use.
Sharon the Mouse Potato made a great bookmark. She stamped a ruler, crayon,
and apple on white cardstock and lettered in dot letters School Days. This
was layered onto brown cardstock.
Tammy Sue Reynolds was very clever and attached her card to a small box of
crayons. The card has a white cardstock base, then a red layer, then black &
white checkered tissue paper, and finally a great schoolhouse stamp. Inside
is a pop-up with a flower pot, crayon, ruler, and apple. A scissors image is
stamped at the bottom.
Liz Salcido made a tiny book with accordian fold pages. The cover is red
with that same great schoolhouse stamp by Hero Arts. The closure is raffia
with a heart bead.
Teresa the Art Lady used her own stamp designs. The base card is on grey
cardstock. The images, word stamps that could be stamped on students'
papers, are in black ink. In the center is a red rectangle and on that is
clay stamped with a whole apple, a half apple, and an apple core.
steelerstamper made a card on red cardstock. Layered on that is black paper
with white dots. She stamped and cut out a school bus, sun, and bus stop
sign. Inside is the same dotted paper with They're back!!! and a group of
children.
Linda Lloyd stamped an apple and To Teach is to Touch Someone's Life
Forever on the front of her card and surrounded these with cute stickers.
Inside is a poem on the ABCs of Teaching.
Thanks everyone. These are terrific.
Hugs,
Betsy

I finally retrieved your postcard. My e-mail address was wrong. It went
back to the list address as undeliverable mail, and by chance I looked at it

StampnGrnd@aol.com and D1derly@aol.com
I finally have a browser that will allow me to see all graphics -- thanks to
