Subject: Re: RS: Re: RS I've been RAK'd
Hello Everyone:
I received my first RAK ever, and it was from Stargazer. It was a fish
and a shell mounted on dark blue paper. (I will have to get
instructions from Stargazer on how she did the fish and shell.) It was
a beautiful card and I really appreciated it. It was a nice pick me up
after working all weekend long. Thanks for your thoughtfulness.

Cheryl,
Wanted to let you know that I received your package today...thank you!
I love paper and love all of these great colors. The rainbow is especially
pretty.
I was thinking about using the rubons to make a sweatshirt, have you ever
tried that?
I gotta hand it to you for still sending this to me so many months after the
fact.
Thank-you, you really brightened my day!!!

The new issue of SOMERSET STUDIO has a really nice article about using
sealing wax in your work--how about a swap using sealing wax? I have sticks
of wax, but my favorite are the Judi-Kins wax wafers--they make it so easy.
You've been wanting to try wax--you know you have......go get some and JOIN
THIS SWAP!!! If you need some tips on how to use the wax with your
stamps---let me know.
NAME OF SWAP: SEALING WAX swap
HOSTED BY: Deni Johnson
DEADLINE: POSTMARKED Oct 11, 1997 (My Birthday!!)
DETAILS: Use sealing wax SOMEWHERE on your work! (I like to make a
collage-type piece and use the wax/seal as one of my collage elements) This
will be a 5 for 5 swap (or whatever for whatever) although an extra would
be appreciated! Please include stamp credits.
MAILING INFO: send SAML and postage/money equivilent to sending your cards.
PLEASE put a square of bubble wrap over each wax seal, and ask your post
office to HAND-CANCEL it. A bubble mailer might also be a good idea.

Subject: RS: COM: Holiday & New Products!
I've been working very hard to update my site for September and wanted you
to be sure to HIT RELOAD when you stop by next time!
I've got LOTS of Holiday stamps up from most of the eight companies I carry
(including the new line of Saltbox Illustration stamps....).
I'm extending my Inkadinkado free catalogue offer since the catalogues were
backordered most of August!! I'm re-stocked on those AND the "Fake" Hallmark
stamp (if you haven't yet received yours by week's end, let me know!! The
last orders shipped today!). Also ordered some new stamps (an empy jar and
the "pig poop" checklist)... I'll be adding more Inkadinkado images in the
days to come....
The new All Night Media Mary E. & Laurel Burch Holiday images are up.
The new Stamp Francisco Holiday images are up.
The new Inkadinkado stamps are up.
The new Stampinks Holiday stamps are up.
Uptown and Stamp It are coming soon.....
To see ALL of these (and report glitches!!) go to:
http://www.blue-eagle.com/rubberd/mc.htm
Let me know if you run into problems -- I made some massive changes and there
are bound to be a few things I forgot to do!!

From: DLMARLER@aol.com
Subject: RS: Checkered Paper Swap Rec'd
These cards are just darling! Great job everyone! And Linda, you are such a
great hostess...the little "Thank Ewe" card is sweet!
From Lori Nelson (Packrat414@aol.com): taupe colored card stock with a "dash
& dot" border around the edge has three 1.5" squares of checkered paper
layered on top (green/black, red/black, beige/black); over that is a cute
country birdhouse mounted on pop-dots. A jute bow is glued onto the lower
right corner. This is all layered onto a beige card. I can't do this card
justice in my descriptions. It's very, very, very cute!!! Inside it says
"Take Time To Enjoy Life's Simple Joys"
From "Cindy": Green/beige checkered tissue paper with hand torn edges glued
to a medium beige card. On top of that speckled off-white stock that has
been crimped and stamped with a jar and some sunflowers in the jar. A jute
bow glued to look like it is tied around the neck of the jar. Inside it says
"Friends are flowers that never fade". Very nicely done.
From Tracy Yamamoto: A sweet little bear peeking out of a blue jeans pocket
layered on blue an white checkered paper. Stamped buttons mounted on foam
tape in the lower right hand corner. All layered on a gray card. A sheer
pink ribbon is laced through the side of the card. This is SUCH a sweet
card!
From Glenyce: Base is postcard-sized red cardstock. Glued to that is black
and white checkered fabric, which has been layed at an angle and the corners
cut off so the fabric stays within the borders of the red card. On top of
the fabric is white cardstock stamped with various images (angel, notes,
roses, heart, confetti and "You are on my mind today..."; stamped in red and
black. This is also layed at an angle. I don't feel like I'm doing this
card justice either!
From Jaimee Givens: This card is real cute, too, and being from Texas I got
a "kick" out of it. On a plain white card, red and white checkered paper is
glued. On top of that a square piece of paper has been edged with pinkers
and stamped (and embossd with a black glittery ep) on it is a chair sitting
on a small rug with a cowboy hat hanging on the back of the chair and cowgirl
boots laying on the floor. In the left hand top corner is a blue satin bow.
Inside it says "Howdy". It also came with an envy: on the flap of the envy
is some red & white checkered paper with Howdy stamped on it and two red star
stickers on either side of that.
I have such a hard time describing these cards. The are ALL wonderful. No
one is better than the next. All are different and equally appealing.
Thanks to everyone for doing such beautiful work.
Doris

You know you're an E-mail Junkie if:
1. You wake up at 3 a.m. to go to the bathroom and stop to check
your e-mail on the way back to bed.
2. You get a tatoo that reads "This body best viewed with Netscape
Navigator 1.1 or higher."
3. You name your children Eudora, Mozillia and Dotcom.
4. You turn off your modem and get this awful empty feeling, like
you
just pulled the plug on a loved one.
5. You spend half of the plane trip with your laptop on your
lap...and your child in the overhead compartment.
6. You decide to stay in college for an additional year or two, just
for the free Internet access.
7. You laugh at people with 9600-baud modems.
8. You start using smileys in your snail mail.
9. Your hard drive crashes. You haven't logged in for two hours.
You start to twitch. You pick up the phone and manually dial your ISP's
access number. You try to hum to communicate with the modem.
...And you succeed.
10. You find yourself typing "com" after every period when using a

Keep the office hours sane!
HOW TO KEEP A HEALTHY LEVEL OF INSANITY AT WORK
1. Page yourself over the intercom. (Don't disguise your voice)
2. Find out where your boss shops and buy exactly the same outfits.
Always wear them one day after your boss does. (This is especially
effective if your boss is a different gender than you are.)
3. Make up nicknames for all your coworkers and refer to them only by
these names. "That's a good point, Sparky." "No I'm sorry I am going to
have to disagree with you there, Chiachi."
4. Send email to the rest of the company telling them exactly what you
are doing. For example, "If anyone needs me I will be in the bathroom."
5. "Hi-lite" your shoes. Tell people that you haven't lost your shoes
since you did this.
6. While sitting are your desk, soak your fingers in "Palmolive"
7. Put up mosquito netting around your cubicle.
8. Put a chair facing a printer, sit there all day long and tell
people
you're waiting for your document.
9. Arrive at a meeting late, say you're sorry, but you didn't have
time
for lunch, and you're going to be nibbling during the meeting. During
the
meeting eat 5 entire raw potatoes.
10. Insist that your email address be
"Zena_goddess_of_fire@companyname.com"
11. Every time someone asks you to do something, ask them if they
want fries with that.
12. Send email to yourself engaging yourself in an intelligent debate
about the direction of one of your company's products. Forward the mail
to a co-worker and ask her to settle the disagreement.
13. Encourage your colleagues to join you in a little synchronized
chair
dancing.
14. Put your garbage can on your desk. Label it "IN."
15. Determine how many cups of coffee is "too many"
16. Develop an unnatural fear of staplers.
17.Decorate your office with pictures of Cindy Brady and Danny
Partridge. Try to pass them off as your children.
18. For a relaxing break, get away from it all with a mask and snorkel
in the fish tank. If no one notices, take out your snorkel and see how
many you can catch in your mouth.
19. Put DECAF in the coffeemaker for 3 weeks. Once everyone has
gotten over their caffeine addictions, switch to EXPRESSO!!!!!

Subject: RS: "WOW" Swap Official--sign up!
I recently partipated in the 5-Hour Swap---and was *THRILLED* with the
results. I asked Nancy if she was going to host another one--but she
replied that she is booked up with swaps until after the 1st of the
year......and indicated that I could host a similair swap.
So..since I can't wait any longer........I propose a "WOW!"
swap.....because that's what I said as I took out every card from the
5-hour swap.....
Any theme -- no card can be too detailed or over-decorated. Come on in!
Name of Swap: "WOW" Swap
Format: Cards, Postcards, frames, projects, etc.
Description: Cards must take 5-25 hours (to complete the set) and must
include at least one gratuitous gewgaw, bauble or charm.
Hosted By: Deni Johnson
Email: denij@athenet.net
Items Info: 5 for 5---if you send an extra for me--I'll include a "Jumping
Jack Flash" card and pattern to you--it's a GREAT pop-up for all
occasions--I learned it from a Judi-Kins rep at a class last spring
Due Date: Postmarked October 30
Mailing Info: Nancy had said that the postage cost was over what she had
anticipated--and I don't want to go broke mailing these back! Please send
$3 to cover priority mailing back to you (The package I got back cost $3
and was huge). I suggest you use a LARGE padded mailer to send--and then
I'll send it back to you in the same mailer--nice and secure--please
include an address label for return mail.

Subject: RS: extremely late post about the instructional swap
Sorry to be so late in posting... I have just finished a=20
big meeting that I am glad to have behind me. Thanks to=20
Linda Strawn for hosting this! I always enjoy her swaps!=20
and this one is a keeper! Thanks to all those who have=20
played ans swapped... with out you it just wouldn't be=20
the same!
Shari V... Blending technique... a sunflowere is embossed=20
on vellum in black and she colored the lightest color first=20
and then bits and dabs of darker colors with lighter color=20
to color them in.Very nice technique and I am sure it takes=20
a steady hand and a good eye to do this. The sunflower is=20
cut out and mounted on mulberry paper and is on a corregated=20
card... very nice and simple. I like it!
Cheryl Randall...Blitzing technique... A bigger card then=20
usual with an oval cut out. she used pink, purple and blue=20
to blitz.... my favorite color combo... and blitzed the=20
whole card. Then she trimme dthe edges in pink... added=20
wishing you... in the top left corner and a rose bouquet=20
mounted over the open oval... it is blitzed in the inside=20
too and the words... a day filled with all the things you=20
love best. .. Very lovely card!
Maryann....I think this is paper clay with sun images=20
impressed in the paper and is in the shape of a heart.=20
The heart is orange and yellow and it looks like it is=20
sealed or embossed with clear... Neat idea.. I did not=20
have instructions for this one but would love to have=20
them. This looks like a neat girlscout project...=20
Janet Quinn... this is done with bubbles an dcolored dye...=20
you blow the bubbles through the straw and when the get up=20
above the container you touch the paper to the bubbles and=20
it leaves a soft impression. It is very neat. That is her=20
background. A teddy bear with a big hat is nicely colored=20
and mounted to a dark sparkly backgound that is torn and=20
mounted to the card. The words ... you're never too old to=20
love a teddy bear are cut out with a victorian fisker=20
scissors and mounted. all of the card has bubble images...=20
Very clever!
And Linda Strawn.... I think that this is Joseph's coat...=20
She rainbow brayered the card and embossed under the sea=20
images in clear and then brayered dark blue over it. It is=20
done on Glossy c/s/ Very nice card! I want to try this=20
technique! She calls this Neon embossing...
Thanks again to hostess Linda and all those who participated! Lovely
cards!=20
