Subject: RS: EP Problems - Help Please
Hi all,
I'm having problems with my embossing peeling off the paper. I am using
Color Box & Paint Pad Inks. The EP I used is Stamp-N-Stuff (clear
transparent & psychrdelic). It's peeling off several types of paper:
Card stock smoothe, card stock w/grooves).
I'm a newbie to all this, any help and/or suggestions would be greatly
appreciated!
Thanks in advance,
Michele

Hi WHIMSICAL Mail Art Exchange Group....
I have just mailed out my strange, weird, off the wall - whimisical? "item"
for this month (Aug.). Hopefully, each one will reach it's intended
destination, the mail gremlins have been known to pilfer and plunder.
My address was on the list that Shauna originally emailed to all of us AND
it's also on the master rs list. But in case, you still can't find it....
I'm located at P.O. Box 5363, Torrance, CA 90510-5363.

Subject: RS: RSM arrived today
Wahoo! Got my RSM today! What a surprise because I hadn't even been
thinking about it. I haven't really gotten into it yet. Errands and all
today, plus I hurt my back yesterday so grocery shopping and dinner preps
are taking twice as long. But later on tonight - watch out! I'm going
to be burning eyeball tracks all over that thing.
But I want to comment on something. I know there's been a lot of
discussion in stamping circles about using copiers with stamping and
everyone has a different opinion, but I would love to hear what you all
think about this month's cover. Its pretty, but it seems she used a
2"x3" stamp to make her cover art. Enlarged it a great deal and then
added a border.
To me this is pretty much the equivalent of blowing up one of our usual
size cards to put on this large magazine's cover.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that this month's cover is
disappointing to me.
I look forward to seeing what people do with their stamps given such an
unusually large format and have been pleasantly surprised and inspired by
almost all the RSM covers I've seen so far.( Last month's cover was just
wonderful. I love how she used space and distance so effectively) So
regardless of my feelings of this one, that's quite a track record. But
imo, this cover could just as easily have been one of the centerfold
submissions blown up to fit. Which is not to say that the centerfold
cards RSM chooses aren't wonderful works of art, they are. I just expect
a large stamped work to grace each issue's cover.
Yup, my back hurts, I can't walk too well and I'm cranky. So of course
I'm nattering about the cover.

I finally found the book that talked about using these markers. They do
come in a set and you can only use the "eraser" marker on the other
markers in the set. They are made by "Pentech", but I can't find them
in any stores. Does anyone have a clue how to get in touch with the
"Pentech" company? They have a cool idea in this book to color in an
area (like an oval through a stencil or template) with one of the color
markers. Then take the "eraser" pen and color directly on the stamp.
Then stamp onto the shape you colored in and it will make a white stamp
on a colored shape. It almost looks like a cameo or Wedgewood. It is
really cool! Anyone have any ideas?

Subject: RS: ghosting and other watercolor experiments by MAHMAH
Hiya all~
I have received many questions about this *ghosting* I mentioned and
about what I was trying to achieve with my small collection of bold
stamps so here is the information I have...........
My limited understanding of ghosting ( and I stress limited ) is that
you
emboss clear EP over clear pigment ink and then do watercolor washes
over it.....The wash will not stick to the embossed image so it looks
whited out or if the paper is patterned you will see the pattern ....
A card was
done using it in the new Stampin' UP catalog. Perhaps someone else that
has worked with this technique can explain it a little better.
Since backgrounds are my passion I also have been playing with color
washes.....using bold stamps to take off some of the color and then
painting the same or different bold stamps and stamping them
intermittently to produce color variances. It creates a sophisticated
look for backgrounds.
Now, doesn't this whet everyone's appetite for the watercolor
background swap????

Hi Everyone
I'm new to the list. How do you get to go on the snail mail list and
participate in RAK's or SS.
I use to do alot of designs, but never really had a chance to learn
alot of the techniques due to an accident. Now I'm back on my feet sort
of,and I'd really like to participate.
Thanks

Yes,, this works,,,, also Comotiom makes an embossing ball point type pen,,,

Howdy Y'all!!!
Well a wonderful thing happened last Saturday,
I was RAK'd not once but twice on the same day!!
My very first RAKs ever!!!
Stephanie Manifold - 2 cute little bunny girls are
layered on cardstock on mulberry on cardstock.
This is a very nice effect. Is the top layer just
sponged around the edges?? And this was in
a way cool wallpaper envy with little pink and blue
hearts to match the colors on the card!!
Ellie Cassatt - an adorable girl holding a flower pot
and wat\ering can is layered on a mauve cs on a grey
background. This wonderful card also came in a
handmade envy. I think wrapping paper, with purple
and white stripes. I like how you did the labels too :)
Thank you both sooooo much!!!!!!
What a terrific surprise :)

How about these:
You can do it with a group of friends and it's still not an orgy.
If your image isn't big enough, you can blow it up at Kinko's.
Stamps are always ready when you are.
If you don't feel like it after, you can wait til morning to wash the
stamps off.
If you get tired of the stamps you have, you can always get new ones.
You can get more than one use out of a stamp each time.
It's late...someone else can continue.

Well, I will have 7 people here tomorrow for the kickoff meeting.
It sure has kept me pretty busy these last few days. Getting ready.
Don't want to overwhelm them, but I've got so much to share from this
list and all my good friends here.
Guess I'll show them some copies of cards I've made (especially the ones
that have been in VSN and RS), and a selection of swap cards I've
received, some books and magazines.
I really want to get this off to a good start. Most of the gals are
fairly novice, and I think I can help to addict them fairly easily. I've
had some rubber made up with our CC logo and a couple of other special
stamps too. Mounted them on HALOS for them. I'm not giving them acrylic
mounts tho. I've put hook tape onton some old foam mounts and they can
use that for their 5 HALO mounted stamps. That'll "hook" them for sure,
huh?
