  154. coloured in the dog with the party hat.  He is just so sweet.  And the
  155. postoids of cakes and the polar bear are really great.  What did you put on
  156. the confetti, candles and border to make them so shiny?  I guess it must be
  157. some sort of lacquer coating?

  229. My 3 year old was lying in bed with me last night and we got on the topic of
  230. Santa Claus. . .again (it's one of her favorite topics for discussion!).
  231. Anyway, she was telling me all of the things  she hoped he would bring her
  232. this year and suddenly started scoping out the ceiling and said, "But mom, we
  233. don't have a hole for Santa!" Of course, she was talking about the fact that
  234. we don't have a chimney(LOL). I thought that was so cute.

  236. She's been bugging me about taking her to the North pole for the last couple
  237. of months. Almost every time we get in the car anymore, she tells me she

  326. Well sure !  This all works ... "in theory" ... but as a hostess, you have to
  327. expect that many don't follow directions.  But that's not what we're
  328. discussing ... I was looking for opinions on the overages.

  330. But in response to how it is supposed to go -- always plan on having xtra
  331. envys on hand (not everyone sends one).  Not everyone sends proper postage
  332. (or $$).  Sometimes there are no ways to plan for this sorta thing.
  333.  
  334. If I get a set of cards that *obviously* don't have the proper postage or
  335. envy, I will e-mail the person back and tell them to either send an envy and
  336. more postage, or I can return their cards untraded.  I know this sounds
  337. "mean" ... but it has to be that way sometimes.  I recently had a "newbie"
  338. send .32 and a tiny envy -- that won't work.  Also, many people don't get
  339. cards in on time -- that's the largest problem.  
  340.  
  341. I'm not a stickler about this.  Some hostesses will go ahead and swap
  342. regardless if you have your stuff in on time ( i just can't do this -- i
  343. don't want people mad at me) .. so I make sure that I get a response -- one
  344. way or the other -- from everyone that has signed up for a swap.
  345.  
  346. It isn't easy to hostess -- it takes time and takes a very organized system.
  347.  But I simply LOVE IT !!  :-)   (call me a glutton for punishment!)

  422. die-for....it is a glossy envelope strong enough to hold the card/with its

  424. on it too.  AlphaBecky.   I'd love to have directions for this card.  I
  425. could probably take it apart and figure it out but I love the card so much
  426. that I'd rather have printed directions....please, please, please.  Is the
  427. envelope commercial?

  637. MOST of us are in this for fun and that is how we should approach swaps. I
  638. have hosted and I have participated ... I have had pleasant experiences and

  640. success at either hosting OR participating is 90% attitude. Approach it as a
  641. fun and learning experience. If you treat people in the same way you wish to
  642. be treated how can you go wrong??? and if someone gets "upset" ... shake it
