Holly,
I received your card today - what a great card! I loved the way you
coloured in the dog with the party hat. He is just so sweet. And the
postoids of cakes and the polar bear are really great. What did you put on
the confetti, candles and border to make them so shiny? I guess it must be
some sort of lacquer coating?
Well whatever it is, the effect is really cool.
Thanks for making my day! I'll talk to you after I come back from vacation.
Take care :)

My 3 year old was lying in bed with me last night and we got on the topic of
Santa Claus. . .again (it's one of her favorite topics for discussion!).
Anyway, she was telling me all of the things she hoped he would bring her
this year and suddenly started scoping out the ceiling and said, "But mom, we
don't have a hole for Santa!" Of course, she was talking about the fact that
we don't have a chimney(LOL). I thought that was so cute.
She's been bugging me about taking her to the North pole for the last couple
of months. Almost every time we get in the car anymore, she tells me she
wants to go there! Now how do I explain this one to her!

From: Stampher2@aol.com
Subject: Re: RS: Swap Hostess' - need your opinion
Well sure ! This all works ... "in theory" ... but as a hostess, you have to
expect that many don't follow directions. But that's not what we're
discussing ... I was looking for opinions on the overages.
But in response to how it is supposed to go -- always plan on having xtra
envys on hand (not everyone sends one). Not everyone sends proper postage
(or $$). Sometimes there are no ways to plan for this sorta thing.
If I get a set of cards that *obviously* don't have the proper postage or
envy, I will e-mail the person back and tell them to either send an envy and
more postage, or I can return their cards untraded. I know this sounds
"mean" ... but it has to be that way sometimes. I recently had a "newbie"
send .32 and a tiny envy -- that won't work. Also, many people don't get
cards in on time -- that's the largest problem.
I'm not a stickler about this. Some hostesses will go ahead and swap
regardless if you have your stuff in on time ( i just can't do this -- i
don't want people mad at me) .. so I make sure that I get a response -- one
way or the other -- from everyone that has signed up for a swap.
It isn't easy to hostess -- it takes time and takes a very organized system.
But I simply LOVE IT !! :-) (call me a glutton for punishment!)

Subject: RS: RBBB swap
It was a great mail day yesterday! Not only did I receive my order from
RBBB but the swap cards from RBBB.
Most of these have been described already but I'll do it again cause I
like the cards.
The "shower" lady taking a "sun-shower" with the words April Showers bring
May flowers.......DK Stoneman. I love the "shower" lady.
Three copper embossed outhouses, sitting rocks with shrubery all around.
Roll of TP and the words No job is finished until the paperwork is done.
I don't remember seeing the TP before. Nice work. ...Kayelynne Ingold
Boxer shorts stamped on very fancy paper with lips stuck on the fly
mounted over a magnet. Too much fun. Lori Blaauw
Birthday cake with a frog/buggy eyes that pops out of the top of the
cake. I really love this card. Nicely done. The envelope is to
die-for....it is a glossy envelope strong enough to hold the card/with its
rubberband mechanism closed till you pop it out of the envy. Great images
on it too. AlphaBecky. I'd love to have directions for this card. I
could probably take it apart and figure it out but I love the card so much
that I'd rather have printed directions....please, please, please. Is the
envelope commercial?
The fifth card was my own....a pig flying over a group of people.
Thanks everyone for the great work.

Don't be nervous at hosting or partcipating ... I may be amiss but I think
MOST of us are in this for fun and that is how we should approach swaps. I
have hosted and I have participated ... I have had pleasant experiences and
not so pleasant ones ... but that is just the way it goes. I think your
success at either hosting OR participating is 90% attitude. Approach it as a
fun and learning experience. If you treat people in the same way you wish to
be treated how can you go wrong??? and if someone gets "upset" ... shake it
off and go on.
Just my 2 cents worth ...

Hello I got your great card in the mail yesterday. I was soooooo happy as
I have been a little bummed about not getting stamp orders that are stuck
in the UPS system. I also have been very very busy, as I am doing a week
long open house/catalog unveiling for my Stampin Up business this week. As
of yesterday at 6:30, it started at 6:45, I think I am ready for the week.
Hope you are having a great summer. I hope to resub to the rubber stamp
list sometime in the very near future. Life is just out of control
sometimes.

This is interesting to me because I dont get clear ideas of what *anyone*
looks like from on-line; I guess I'm just not that "visual" a person, at
least not in that area. But I'll take a whack:
Becky-bear: I'm guessin you are in your late 30s to mid 40s, I see you as
shorter and roundish--I think it's the bear thing that is giving me this
image. Light to medium brown hair with some gray, possibly glasses--I see
you as a soft and cuddly, smiling person. I picture you in blouse and
skirt, like a long denim skirt. Kind of a maternal figure from my
perspective.
Heather: younger, under 30? shoulder length blonde-to-medium brown hair,
taller, maybe 5-6, 5-7 and open, interested looking face, you seem like
someone who has enthusiasm for life and new things and it shows on you.
Katchoo, sure I'm waaaaaaay off
