on the radio. I had seen him MANY times at college concerts, and also on
Broadway. The day he died the world lost a great humanitarian.

Subject: RS: Stampin' Joy's SS Received!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!
Dear SS,
Can you believe that just yesterday I wrote to my SS and sobbed because
my package hadn't arrived... Well Guess what! It came today! I am so
excited! My SS sent me soooo much! I am just dying! I can't believe it!
I sure feel like a creep for whining yesterday! I am so LUCKY! My SS
Loves me! Here is a list of the the goodies!
She put in Three cards with notes! She used some DOTS stamps... those
are my favorites! One was a bunny slide and pop up card. There are
easter eggs on the pop up! a very lovely card! and not an easy one. Then
there is a bear card with butterflies! and an easter egg in a nest with
grass and branches eluding to a tree! What a nice spring card! she
included a note with a clue or two... I still don't know who you are...
but keep the clues coming! I enjoyed reading your note! Then she asked
someone to make a special card for my birthday! It is a very nice
card... one of the looking through the windows card. A little boy
looking through the window at a birthday cake and his dog pulling at his
shirt! inside are the words.. Hope these wishes cheer you and brighten
your day... and the cake is like illumintating off of the page! Your
friend did a very nice job! A very lovely card. And it looks like she
spent alot of time on it. Also, some bathsalts in a handstamped package
came with it. They smell marvelous! On the outside is a bathroom scene
and Just for you is stamped on it. Neat! I like this!
She also sent a beautiful picture of the big fourth of July Angel from
DOTS in colored pencils and four little angels... one on each corner in
the same colors and there are stars on the matte board in the perfect
spots! Under the angel is stamped Happy Fourth of July. What a nice
surprise... My SS is very talented!
Are you jealous yet? There is more!=20
She sent me tissue paper! I love Tissue Paper! It has confetti pieces
all over it! I can definately use this one!
I received some pretty pink mulberry paper! Oerfect timing too! I just
used the last of mine up this week! And I really like the pink mulberry
paper! I love pink and blue!
I also am now th e proud owner of a butterfly punch! I love butterflies!
This is really cute... My daughter also likes this one.=20
then In the Garden Speckled back ground paper! Four sheets of four
different colors... Garden tool, terra cotta, garden boot and straw hat!
They are very fun colors and I will have a lot of fun with these!=20
Two different kinds of embossing powder.. silver and clear! I am always
running out of silver embossing powder. It is one of my favorites. I
haven't tried the clear embossing powder, so this will be fun!
And not just one magazine, but two! Wow oh Wow! Somerset studios and
the stampers sampler! Wow Wow Wow! This is great! I love looking at
these! I take them to bed and read them! I share them with my friends
too! This just great! Wow! I am so excited!
And as if that wasn't enough... she added my birhtday present.
Then in balloon wrapping paper, was a very special surprise for me. A
Kai Scissors and a stamp positioner. This is the best! If you don't send
me anything else, I would be in heaven. you are beyond nice! Wow! I
can't stop saying it! I have the bestest SS in the whole world! thank
you for your kindness and generosity! Thank you for caring to send so a
lovely package! You are the best! Thank you Thank you Thank you! adn
thanks again1 you have made my birthday a great day! I will smile for a
month! Thanks!

Hi!
I'll be going to the Salt Lake City show on September 13th. I'll be
driving, as it will cost more to fly than I want to pay. I'm trying to
keep expenses down to a minumum.
Is there anyone interested in going to the SLC show with me? I'll pay
for the rental car if you pay for the gas. You'll get into the show for
free and we can split a room to stay in for Friday and Saturday night.
I'll also pay you in rubber for helping me!
Anyone interested? Please! I don't want to drive nine hours alone!

Subject: RS: RAKKED by Ellie Cassatt
Ellie sent a wonderful card...a darling little girl with a heart on her
dress, holding a watering can and flowers . she is beautifully colored and
the layered papers, one cut with a victorian (?) edger, match incredibly
well. Further, the envy is done with black slightly wavy lines in a
diamond pattern and little teeny bows sprinkled around. GREAT ENVY!!!
And Ellie, at the moment, I'm feeling like a prize jerk because I really
blew something (and some of you know exactly what I'm talking about....),
so your card came at a perfect moment.
In fact, it made me cry. I guess, because I'm feeling so badly and so
stupid and then this lovely card comes, so I know my stupidity will pass
and hopefully folks won't stay mad at me for toooooo long.
Thank you again, Ellie. You've just proven so beautifully that you never
know the potential value of a RAK when you send it off....
Hugs,

Becky --
I can agree with that ... in fact, you sent in 2 totally different sets for
the "rubber stamp" swap I hosted -- (and they were awesome cards BTW).
Because you sent in different cards, it made it much easier to swap your
cards. And you're right, you're not a "newbie" ! :-)
I hate to tell people "no" ... and I never have either. My request to the
person was pretty simple (I thought). Because you make different cards, I
can agree that sending in differents sets would be alright. I have had
several people do that and I wasn't a problem either.
thanks for your input ! :-)

<< As a swapper, I have (ALMOST) always asked permission when I wanted
to send in multiple sets, and I have never had anyone to say "no". I
don't think I have ever made enough to get one back from everyone -
unless it was a very small swap. I have sent in more than the minimum 7
times - 3 times I made two (or three in one case) different sets; in
the other four, I made twice as many as the minimum of the same card.
Again as a swapper, I try to make very certain, that I sending in a
good quality card (nothing "newbie" about this - I don't consider myself
a "newbie", but I know I can still produce a dud card). If I am
basically forcing the hostess to give one of my cards to most of the
participants - I want to be sure that it is well-received (and that may
just be my need to please, but I see it as fair play).
As a hostess, it can be very difficult to give the particpants a
good mix of cards if two or more people send in a whole bunch. I have
always taken one of everyone's cards, but I have also always given them
back one from me. I don't ask for an extra for me (I stopped even
saying that one was appreciated, but I still get one from most
participants). I'm thrilled with this, because then they get back 6
cards instead of five, and they probably get a better mix.
If the swapper sends in different sets, then if the hostess gets in a
sorting bind, she could give someone two different cards from the single
swapper. That is how sending in different sets can help. I understand
that very well.
I am curious to know if there is any animosity toward the swappers
who send in a lot of cards. Certain themes really strike a chord in me
and I love to see as many examples as I can, but I don't want to ruffle
any feathers. This is a good theme for discussion - I hope I haven't
said anything to offend anyone - it is just basically the way that I
conduct myself - and I guess what I hope for, but not require or expect
- from others. >>

Wow. I have never had that problem. Just the opposite; my stamps
*really* stick well. And I don't even cover the entire surface of the
cushion, I just put a dot every 3/4 inch or so. I do use only Aleene's

I got 2 Stamps Happen stamps for 25% off each and the UHU glue for $1.
They didn't have any good clearance on stamps like at your store.
I did get a 25% off bag good for 8/31 and 9/1. All you can fit in the bag of

This is exactly why these negative posts are so bad. One person's
experience does not mean that it is the norm. I feel we all need to
make our own decisions. I have always known Rubber Baby to be polite,
and send out orders quickly and to be one of the best companies in the
business. A negative post can really hurt a company because of the
snowball effect, but I would imagine that was the intent.
Normally I don't get so riled about things like this, but I do know the
people personally as I said before and I just hate to see bad press when
I know better.

Meridee,
Your wonderful card came... You know, I have that angel stamp and it never
occured to me to use a rainbow pad. The result is awesome, particularly
touched with glitter, the way you did. Its so lovely and you were soooooo
sweet to sent it to me.
Thank you....your card helped turn a pretty unhappy time into a much better
one. It's like YOU were there for ME!!!!
Hugs,
Jody

Recieved a card from Karen Glover today--actually 2, one for July and one
for August. A great Stampscape--which I keep studying--just don't know that
much about Stampscapes. Guess I should have watched more carefully at the
Scottsdale show. The second using acetate(?) to make an interesting 3-D
butterfly with that wonderful hot sun looking one. The heat and humidity
have slowed me down--doesn't take much for me!!!!!! Group Nine--Hope I can
get your cards out soon.

Sheryl,
I was one of those "die hards" who wanted no part of unm's. I finall
"bit the dust" and bought the set and the large HALO from EVO. I LOVE
your invention. I'm considering taking all my mounted stamps and
removing them from the wooden mounts.....make room for lots more
stamps!!!! Can this be done without damaging the rubber? Any hints?
THANKS A BUNCH,
Patti ^ ^

Today I received a beautiful card from Rannie Jo !! I *must* remember to
use this technique !!
On white cardstock she has a bright green paper -- and stamped in irridencent
green a "squiggle" pattern. THEN on vellum ... she stamped in white & EPed
in white a collage of pretty flowers and colored the centers with yellow.
That's it ! It is soooo beautiful !
Thanks Rannie .... now I gotta "top" that ???? wow ! Give me a day or two
to dig-out some of my new stuff from the convention ! :-)

front of the small. So that's $10 plus S/H of $1 so $11 right??
These are unm yes?

Hi Jackie
Wow they arrived today and many many thanks for them and the extras. The
large trading card has a neat pin stamp inside. cute.
These are from your own line? Great stamps, good idea with the company
name on one. Usually I put some aside for my unm trade bag but these are
all keepers. Do you have a flier or catalog???Barb

I use silver hyperplaid as a background behind a scottish terrier
for a gift tag. Also the hyperplaid looks nice layered behind
a carousel stamp. I do use it mostly for layering.... I use
the "bubbles" as background for fish.
