Don't bother ripping it off if its too sticky to be remountable, just
stick it to your shirt a couple of times. The sticky cushion will
collect enough lint to render it just sticky *enough*. Or else you can
baby powder it and then add your dots of Tack it O & O.
And **how*** did you get unm RSA stamps? Are Ken Brown's available unm
too? I would love to get the stamp of the guys standing in (thru) the

*giggle* no indeedy. Gotta make sure you don't disapoint anyone. I remember
one Christmas though that was a little bit more exciting than planned because
my grandmother put the batteries in everything. At grandma's house we were
allowed to feel, shake and generally check out our presents for a couple of
days before opening them. My brother Tom shook one of his presents, put
it down and then a little while later we noticed smoke coming from the pile
of presents. The whole herd of kids went running for grandpa, sure
that a spark from the fire was burning up all our presents.
He ran towards the pile, and saw right away which present was smoking.
Guess what he did then? He burst out laughing!
It wasn't until the next day when we opened presents that we saw the reason.
One of Tom's presents was a battery powered bull. Smoke would pour out
of it's nose when it pawed it's hooves.
We always got the batteries seperate after that. :)

Hi all,
Life has been busy and I have been lax in reporting my swaps etc.
I got the Dali swap yesterday and it was probably the best swap I have
ever been. These are of professional artistic quality. I will elaborate
more later.
I received the itty bitty book lessons from Postoids. These are great.
I must bid you all adieu.

Hi Liz,
the "metal tile" is a piece of card, with a square of miracle

stamped using green pigment ink.

From: Janet Detter Margul <janet@dallas.net>
Subject: RS: Tan: Who's on this list the longest?
Someone looked this up for me in their archives... the list (with the
majordomo software) started Feb. 9, 1995.
And the first person to join was.... (no, not me) ... DAD FRANK!
Andy had told me it was in place, sent me instructions (Coop was fooled, I
didn't have a clue what I was doing) and I asked Frank to join and see if I
had things set up right. And Frank got his e-mail in faster than I got mine
in.
As long as the list was hosted by Genie, Frank's name stayed at the top of
the "who" list. And even though his life would have been so much easier if
he could have been on the list with his dreamscape account, he stayed with
the Genie account because that's the kind of friend he is.
When we moved to DM, everybody currently subscribed got re-subscribed and
Frank was no longer at the top of the list, he was down in the Cs or Fs or
something. So I said okay, unsub and resub with the new address. But that's
the only time in all these months he's ever been unsubscribed, and I think
he subscribed the new address first, then unsubscribed once he saw the list
mail was coming in. Oh yeah and once he unsubscribed himself by accident
when I was on vacation and he was handling sub and unsub requests.
One of these days I'll have to look at that original list of six or eight
people, back in that first week when I naively thought a manual address
list would do it. The list grew from that six or eight to about 40 in three
days, then to 70 or 80 within the first week. That's when I started looking
for somewhere to run list software for us.
What a trip the last 30 months have been!
But it is definitely Dad Frank who has been subscribed the longest.

Subject: RS: SHAWN - Thanks for RAK!
Hello Shawn,
What a wonderful surprise! You truly made made day! I had a stamp club at
my house Wednesday night and I showed this off to everyone. They were very
surprised that someone would send something like this out of kindness to
someone you don't know! They are envious and want to join the list.
Unfortunately most of them have yet to own computers!! Although one may
soon be online.
My card seems similar to the one Tracy described earlier. I like that
hibiscus (?) ribbon frame stamp. My card has 'thinking of you' stamped in
the center.
Look for something snailing it's way to you as we "speak"! Put it in the
mail yesterday. I know that by the nature of a RAK you did not expect a
return card, but, what can I say, I was inspired...
Your stamping friend in California,

Hi All:
Since my last update I have had more interest in another calendar. If I
get 6 more players I will do one more calendar. If you're interested
please let me know ASAP, as these spaces are going quickly!!
Following are the details for a 1998 Calendar Swap. I participated in
one last year and have been enjoying the calendar. This should be a fun
swap with no boundaries (please no erotica). So sign up today and let's
play!
SWAP: Calendar Swap for '98
HOSTESS: RubberZombee <carrubba@gte.net>
DETAILS: 13 (8.5"x11" - landscape format) original
handstamped pages (no Xerox copies will be accepted)
cardstock of your assigned month. Please list 3 different months of your
choice in order of preference and I will let you know which month you
have. This will be assigned on a first come, first served basis. If I
have more than 12 players I will make groups of 12 players. I will
stamp the covers, add the days of the month pages, assemble and comb
bind along the 11" edge (this will be the bottom edge of your stamped
page.) You won't need to leave an edge for binding unless you plan to
write in this area. Please include stamp credits, any techniques and
your name.
MAILING INFO: SAML + $5.00 for binding and shipping. (Allyson
brought this to my attention after having participated last year and
suggested that you may want to "insure" or "return receipt request"

I was introduced to stamping a litle over four years ago by my very best
friend. Since then she has gawked at the amount of stuff I have bought and
wondered why. In a way, the industry zoomed past her while she wasn't
looking.
I was thinking... her birthday is August 31st
I thought it might be neat to re-introduce her to the world i am sooo

So, if you wouldn't mind, help me send her b-day greetings. I will reply to

A while back some of us were discussing Diva Rubber. I got a note from her
and she was happy to hear that stampers were asking about her.She asked to
me send her any notes from stampers that want to know what is up or
anything I guess about Diva Rubber. She told me to write this message:
"You can tell the RS List stampers that I'm not going too far
away. After a bit of a break ( I'm ill and need to just STOP for a while)
I'll be back drawing stamp images again. ( Many of Diva's images are drawn
by me.) I expect to sell Diva to someone fabulous, someone who has
experience in the stamp business, probably a person who already has a stamp
company. I don't know which of Diva's stamps they will keep, and which
they'll throw ...out, I will keep the Diva name for my other possible
future projects, so you won't see the name "Diva"used by any other stamp
companies. ( But you will, obviously see the images from my present
catalog.)I have a rather large ( enormous even)fell full of possible stamp
images saved up,and it would be a CRIME not to use them.
She has been stamping 28 years!! Diva's last appearance will be at
the October 4, at the Alternative ArtFest in Bellevue, WA. "if anyone out
there in INternet Land lives in the greater Seattle area, tell them to drop
by and say BYE."We're at booth number 11.
Any notes for Diva or comments about her Rubber and or ideas please
email me or the list so I can send them to her.

Subject: Re: RS: Tan:Smooth surface stoves (LONG)
Smudges and KatsPurr,
I have a Jenn-Air radiant glass cooktop or what you are referrring to as
smooth surface stoves. I have had my cooktop for 4 years now and love
it. Spill or spatter something, just wipe with a cloth and done. No
more hassle with that drip tray or burning smell from the electric
cooking coil. This cooktop has dual elements so it can fit small and
large pans. These elements are on what they call cartridges. I can take
out one side (cartridge) and replace it with another cartridge. I have
a grill and griddle cartridge. Kinda nice to be able to grill on a
rainy or snowy day (on one side) and also on the other side, to do my
regular everyday cooking. Or put the griddle in on a Sunday and do
pancakes, eggs, hashbrowns in a jiffy.
Since the cooktop is in my cooking island, I did not want one of those
huge vents that comes down from the ceiling for my cooking ventilation.
I got what they call a downdraft ventilation and it is wonderful.
I mentioned that I have a radiant cooktop, well just to let you know
there are several types of cooktops-radiant, halogen, and induction. If
at the time we had the resources, my ideal cooktop would to have the
induction cooktop. But with what we have, eventually if I wanted to, I
could easily upgrade my radiant cooktop to an induction cooktop. So
what is the difference between these, well, here we go....oh, by the
way, I used to be an asst. manager for a high-end kitchen store very
similar to like a William Sonoma. Worked there for 3 years till just
recently. Ok back to the descriptions of cooktops....
Radiant cooktops heat is directed straight up to give quick cooking
response, while keeping the surrounding cooking area cooler. Halogen
cooktops elements uses halogen lights which heats and cools instantly.
And then there is the induction cooktop. Induction cooktops have an
electro-magnetic element that heats the pan and its contents, but
cooktop surface stays cool. So what is so neat about the induction
cooktop...since it has an electro-magnetic element, if the element is
turned on, you can put your hand on it and it will feel cold. Your hand
does not have any magnetic stuff. Less worry for any moms whose little
one accidently touches the stove-they won't get burned or catch their
clothing on fire. So if you happened to get one of these induction
cooktop, take a magnet with you when you go to a kitchen store to figure
out what cookware (cookware, another topic, won't say anything now) will
work with this cooktop.
All three varieties smooth surface is very easy to clean. So what
brands are out there? Well, of course I am all for the Jenn-Air, but
most big name companies for example, GE, Kenmore, Majic Chef, etc.
usually will have some type of smooth surface cooktop. Now of course,
depending on what accessories or options it has and how it is set up (
as one unit or with cartridges) will play a BIG part on how much it
costs.
Well, I hope this gives you a better understanding in cooktops. Let me
know if you have anymore questions, will be glad to assist you.
Kathy aka Squeaker

I have the black glass one from Whirlpool. Love it. Had it for 10 years and
looks like I just got it. Cleans up nice even with my spills. You do
get this special cleaner from Corning ware but it lasts forever, I'm only
on my 2nd bottle and it's small. You do need to watch the top during
cool down but you do other stoves as well. A friend forgot a pot on hers.
It melted the pot to it, she replaced the top and it was no problem. I would
do it again even tho hubby wants gas. But I'm the cook and cleaner-upper
so glass it is.

Yes I HATED the cleaning of those parts of the regular stove top and it
nevered looked good. This is great. In between cleanings I use the
windex on it and it sparkles. Yes I like mine. Hope this helps. Barb

Subject: RS: TAN: Major Virus Crash!
I seem to have downloaded a virus of some sort off of my AOL account
earlier this week and I have got major hard drive problems. I am no
where near a computer expert so I don't know how to fix it. I lost all
my information on AOL, plus the virus somehow has eaten all my space on
my C:\ and E:\ Drives, so most of my software is not working properly. I
cannot run my MicroSoft Word Program, I cannot print out anything, I went
into my Directory Scanner on Dos and I don't know enough about it to know
how to find the virus. I have a virus program on my computer but it
seemed to have crashed it as well. Most of the files in my C:\ and E:\
Drive have error messages and all kinds of weird fault messages. I
deleted some stuff, but I think I'm screwing it up even more, cause I
ended up deleting all my sound wavs off of AOL and in the process, I also
deleted the normal "Welcome" and "Goodbye you hear when you sign on and
off. I do not have a IM chime that I should when I get IM'd and I don't
have the door open and close sounds. Basically it is a major mess.
I tried to download a Virus Demo off AOL yesterday, but I didn't have
enough disk space to download because of the virus crash. My FIL does
all the programming on my computer, and I haven't told him yet what has
happened because I know I will get a major lecture on the pitfalls of AOL
with all the dangers of downloading, and I don't really want to hear it
I did however managed to get my AOL Password changed so that whoever got
ahold of my password cannot access my account. This is the first time I
have experienced anything like this in all my years with a computer. I'm
usually pretty careful!
