  100. Ohh WOW!!!  I got this LOVELY card in the mail from Marsha yesterday....  
  101. It's a layered item...VERY nicely put together..... and it's soooo 
  102. classy!!!

  104. It's done on brownish red cardstock....then a layer of gold textured 
  105. cardstock...thena layer of really nifty paper in shades of the main 
  106. cardstock...then she stamped this BEAUTIFUL angel and stars on white 
  107. watercolor paper and gently watercolored it...ohhh so soft and lovely.  In 
  108. the background are stars which she applied a bit of "sparkly" too..and she 
  109. punched out a star in the upper left corner, so the second layer shows 
  110. thru.....
  111.  
  112. Then you open it up and a verse is there...it says
  113.  
  114. We shall find peace.
  115. We shall hear the angels.
  116. We shall see the sky

  244. You are a Kripy Kreme Queen too?  There is one on Ponce de Leon and one in
  245. West End.  Both are in somewhat seedy neighborhoods but hey it is worth it
  246. for the doughnuts!  I recommend the one on Ponce de Leon it is in Midtown
  247. which is a cool aand interesting part of town altogether! I will post the

  408.     While I was making my pins for Stampaway, I decided to play......I got
  409. out some of Sammi's smallish playdough cookie cutters, used a Stampin'
  410. Stuff bottle of embossing fluid to roll on the thin edge, added EP and
  411. embossed......What a neat outlined image for backgrounds, wrapping
  412. paper, or whatever......I 'm sure I am not the first person that
  413. thought of this, but it was fun to do!!! I did a ghost, a XMAS tree and
  414. a bunny......

  440. dies by the sheet of images, and they have to be perfect!   If one image 
  441. doesn't cook right,  the rest of the images on the sheet are made into 
  442. grab bags.  And they're happening right now!

  491. I have mixed feelings about that--I think it would be great for him if he
  492. were nationally syndicated like Dr. Laura, and it would be great for
  493. non-Atlantans to share in a source of excellent consumer advice, but I
  494. love the local feel of his show too--talk about the Braves, and his
  495. back-and-forth with the traffic guy, and of course the travel segments
  496. would change drastically since he wouldn't be able to track and fill a
  497. national audience in on all the airfare deals--it's hard enough just for
  498. Atlanta.

  500. By the way, he does have a book, I dont know if it's available outside the
  501. Atlanta area but it's a good one.  It's called something like Clark
  502. Howard's consumer resource guide.  I got my copy at Chapter 11 Books.

  729. Yesterday my oldest Son (Barry) got married.  It was kinda sudden, so I
  730. wasn't there.  He and Susan have been together for a long time.  This was
  731. my nightmare when he was growing up!  The one child who got into the most
  732. trouble, got hurt the most and worried me the most.
  733. He finally grew up at about 21 years of age and has been going to college
  734. and working for the past 6 years (almost finished).  He also took our
  735. daughters 3 children when she died and has been taking care of them plus
  736. Susan has a son (Dale) who is 14 years old that he takes care of.   He
  737. has a really big responsibility.  It still shocks me that he is
  738. accomplishing so much, since he was such a horror growing up.
  739. Wonders never cease!! :)
  740. I feel so sad that they couldn't have the kind of wedding they wanted and
  741. had to get it done by a Justice.  They (Barry and Susan are trying to
  742. finish their schooling) have to much to do and could not afford it.  
  743. Next Monday Dale is going into the hospital for open Heart surgery.  So
  744. you see what all is going on with them.
  745. If anyone would be interested in sending a card (wedding or get well) I
  746. know they would appreciate it.  Just e-mail me for their address if you
  747. do want to make a card.  I think it would make their wedding seem a
  748. little fancier to get lots of cards.  And Dale is completely terrified
  749. about the surgery....maybe cards would cheer him up a little.

  767. Zandrielle Estes:  a pretty card with waves stamped in blue ink on the
  768. bottom with touches of blue glitter, then two large scallop shells
  769. stamped in black ink, colored in with markers and touches of orange
  770. glitter, at the top she use a rollograph with blue and purple ink and
  771. the shell border, and lastly bubbles were stamped throughout in blue
  772. ink.

  774. Diane McVicar:  Really cool looking cardstock that resembles wood.  I've
  775. never seen that before, then layered on top was a sheet of ivory colored
  776. cardstock cut with deckle scissors with a large sunflower stamped and
  777. embossed in gold, and colored in with watercolors, and a small gold bow
  778. in the upper left corner.

  780. Lililo@aol.com:  a postcard on glossy cardstock, showing a girl from
  781. behind standing by a picket fence holding a balloon, looking out towards
  782. a bunch of evergreen trees stamped with two colors of green ink, with
  783. hills subtly sponged in, and a grass stamp for added effect.  Also had
  784. little butterflies too.  All colored in with markers.  A very nice card.
  785.  
  786. Jaimee Givens:  On white cardstock, she layered lilac cardstock cut with
  787. victorian scissors with a girl holding a basket of flowers embossed in
  788. black, and partly colored in with markers.  She added a little white bow
  789. at the top, and a little colored sticker in each corner.  Inside the
  790. card says "Cherish yesterday, dream tomorrow, live like crazy today". 
  791. And she even included a lilac colored envy with stars stamped on the
  792. flap.
  793.  
  794. Barb Byrnes:  On forest green cardstock, She pasted on the left side, a
  795. piece of yellow and white stripped wrapping paper, followed by a sheet
  796. of vellum also pasted only on the left side so you can lift both sheets
  797. of paper.  On the vellum she stamped a lace border on the right side,
  798. with a scallop edge cut out to follow the lace.  Then there are three
  799. daisy type flowers stamped and colored in with markers, and lastly she
  800. stamped "thinking of you" in the upper left corner.  All the stamping
  801. was done in white embossing.  Very pretty.  Inside the card she layered
  802. a piece of white cardstock cut out with scallop scissors to add your own
  803. words.

  904. If they are your ordinary, run of the mill plastic switch plates,
  905. why not put chile peppers or something in keeping with your new decor
  906.  on them?  They are cheap to replace if you change your
  907. decor.  If you have wooden switch plates, you could still stamp
  908. a design on them because they would be easy to sand down later 
  909. if you changed your decor.
  910.     If you have more expensive or ceramic switch plates,
  911. then you are wise to stick to something more neutral.  However,
  912. in decorating, black is not always neutral as you probably know.

  1075. so much--if things were really as bad as they are trying to make it
  1076. sound.  He said that every one who works part-time applied for a
  1077. part-time job.  At least at the Salt Lake City UPS, there is plenty of
  1078. opportunity for people to go full-time, if that is what they want to do. 
  1079. All they have to do, is apply for FULL-TIME.  Most of the people working
  1080. part-time here are people going to school, moms not wanting to work full
  1081. days, etc.  These people get excellent medical benifits. 
  1082. A guy I work with, just quit at UPS.  He said that many people he knew,
  1083. working 15 hours a week were able to pay for their babies for about $250,
  1084. because of the medical benefits at UPS.
  1085.  
  1086. My son works in the phone center of UPS and they aren't striking. 
  1087. Eventually, it will hit all of the UPS workers, even the ones who aren't
  1088. in the Union.  So many companies will now have alternate ways of shipping
  1089. their goods.  UPS has lost so much business that will never be replaced. 
  1090. In the long run, lots of people not wanting to strike will not have a
  1091. job.  This strike will all of us, nationwide, either directly or
  1092. indirectly.
