Yes, I read your post of how you treat customers and was
very impressed. If I lived within 100 miles of your store,
I would shop there. Where in Canada are you, BTW?
Actually, I love stamp stores--the products,the ideas,
the demos, the friendly staff...

I have a friend who went to lunch one day and then took a doggie bag back to
her hotel room, left it on the counter and left the room. She came back 15
minutes later and found the housekeeper EATING her leftovers! How gross!
Whenever I travel, I put the money I don't carry with me in the pocket of a
pair of pants under a bunch of other clothes in a suitcase. I don't know if
this really helps, but I figure no one is going to take the time to look
through the pockets of clothes. They are going to look in obvious places for
valuables like wallets and jewelry cases.

Lissa, I'd love to have a list. Several people who are not on the list
have been asking me about vendors and I can't really give them a complete
list. I'm partial to those in my area and those that I've ordered from.
How soon do you expect the list will be ready? I don't mean to rush you,
but my friends have asked me twice and I'm not doing too well getting them
a list.

you could have come out of SS hiding and I could have had a respite.
But, your card is a lovely break itself. I have that English cottage stamp

I talked to Ma this evening. She should be back on the List tomorrow.
Her husband was hooking up the new computer and trying to get it all set
up while we were talking. She has had a lot of bummy things happening to
her lately, so maybe things will start looking up for her soon.
Someone suggested cards, I think she would enjoy the uplift of cards sent
from us on the List. She is always ready to help anyone, so think I'll
go make her a card and send out tomorrow. :)

Do you all remember the xray machines in the children's shoe stores?
You put your feet in the machine to see if your shoes fit correctly.
You could see the bones. Neat! It's a wonder we don't all have
funny feet from exposure to those machines.

Subject: RS: DYING CHILD'S WISH.....
Fellow Stamper's,
I have just learned about a child that is dying. His family has contacted
"Children's Wish Foundation", the wish of this dying child is to break the
world record. The record he wants to break is recieving one million
(1,000,000) cards.
I think we stampers can fulfill his dying wish. What I'm asking, is for all
of us stampers to send a card/cards and for us to tell and ask EVERY ONE we
know to do the same. Take the childs address to work, ask other to do the
same, anything you can think of to help this child realize his dream.
Please send cards to:
Children's Wish Foundation

Atlanta, GA. 30346
I know we can help this child with his dream.

Hi Ginny,
I do realize that a lot are suffering from the ups strike, but I don't
think this would be the answer. From what I have read I feel that the
UPS employee's are being taken advantage of by their company and the
majority decided it was time to make a stand. I was in a strike
situation last year. It was awful! What we accompished by going out
was to have a say in how we would be unempoyed. At least now we will
have a termination package. It isn't much but it will help us start out
new careers as who knows what. It might sound silly to those not
involved, but to the people who are it is a very serious matter. I feel
at least with the unions ther is a chance for the employees to be
treated fairly. just my opinion.......and everyone is entitled to their
own. thanks for listening.
.......jo......

From: Ellen Gengler <lngnglr@interserv.com>
Subject: RS: RE: END OF ART STAMP JOURNAL
Today I received a letter from Lynne Dahl, editor/publisher of ASJ. She =
was announcing the "end" of ASJ.
According to her letter:
"...I cannot continue to publish the magazine when the revenues it =
generates do not cover the costs of production."
she continues:
"due to (sic) my desire to see the magazine succeed, I have continued =
with the publication at a loss, hoping that its popularity would =
increase distribution and advertising revenues. This has not proven to =
be the case".
she concludes:
"I regret that I have been forced to make this decision, and it has not =
been an easy one to make. Unfortunately, it is a decision that is long =
overdue."
Wow, it is a loss to the stamping community. ASJ was a great publication =
with wonderful articles and features. I will miss it.
*BTW: to all of you who ordered my surpluses, they are "collectors items =
now"!*

To subscribe to rubberstampers Digest, send the command:
subscribe rubberstampers-digest
in the body of a message to "majordomo@xmission.com". If you want to

subscribe rubberstampers-digest local-rubberstampers@your.domain.net
A non-digest (direct mail) version of this list is also available; to
subscribe to that instead, replace all instances of "rubberstampers-digest"
in the commands above with "rubberstampers".
Back issues are available for anonymous FTP from ftp.xmission.com, in
pub/lists/rubberstampers/archive. These are organized by date.
