Hi friends!!
I hit paydirt at the PO today. Got a card from Ant Judy...very cool!! It is
a city type image, looks like it is colored with colored pencils. Mounted on
a pale blue, then on a smoky blue card. Inside says "I eat my peas with
honey; I've done it all my life. It makes them tase to funny, but it keeps
them on my knife".....way too cute!!! Gorgeous coloring Ant...and thanks
much!!! Yours is on the way!!

if it was me, I think I'd assume it's gonna be a go, and then if it winds
up not being a go, then you'll have some nice cards made up for raks and
samples and whatnot. I haven't been keeping count (isn't my swap), but I'm
sure there's at least 3 or us so far, and we only need 5, and surely
there's at least 2 other folks out there with cool ants begging to be
stamped.. so I think is probably a pretty safe assumption... I didn't spend
today making ant cards mind you, I spent friday doing that for the picnic
swap.. today I'm makin' cards outta my fancy new napkins debbie sent me!

I got my cards from the Newbie Swap that Terrie (Stampin Beauty) hosted.
These are great cards and thanks to Terrie for hosting!!
Shirley - On purple/gray cardstock she stamped a watercan filled with
flowers. I love this stamp!!! Very pretty!
Sherry - This is a really pretty card. Did you stamp it or stencil it? It
shows a wine bottle, glasses, grapes and vines. It has a watercolor effect.
Zandrielle - She stamped shells and waves on a white card. She then added
glitter and color. Neat!
Karen - She made a diaper card. I just recently seen the pattern for this
and wanted to try it. How cute!!
Anno - I got the highly acclaimed card that is posted on Phil's web page!!!
And it's all mine!!! This card is even prettier in person! I love the
exotic papers.

Subject: RS: Re: Vendor Intro: In Joy Rubber Stamps
Hello everyone!
I've been on this list for about a week now. I've noticed other vendor=
s giving intros, so I thought that I would give one also. I am a home-ba=
sed rubber stamp business. I do home parties & craft shows, but have fou=
nd that selling through the internet is the least amount of work, so I =
am doing a lot more mail order these days. I do carry inventory which =
is set up regularly for customers to stop by. I regularly sell stamps =
at 10% below retail and accessories at 20% below retail, not including =
specials that I run from time to time. In fact, to clean house, I have =
a selection of stamps from 30-50% below retail. I have an e-mail list =
that you're welcome to join (not like this one, it's just one-way from =
me to you). I let you know when I have specials or will be ordering cert=
ain items, etc. I also have Open Houses from time to time, so if you're=
in the MD/DC/VA area, please contact me for dates/directions (or check =
out my web site for details).
These are the companies that I order from:A Stamp in the Hand, Alias =
Smith & Rowe, All Night Media, Art Gone Wild!, Art Impressions, Azadi, =
Bibilical Impressions, Clearsnap, Darcie's Country Folk, Delafield, Doubl=
e D, Embossing Arts, Eureka!, Family Treasures, Heritage Handcrafts, Hero=
Arts, Inkadinkado, Judikins, Kidstamps, Love you to bits, Penny Black, =
Personal Stamp Exchange, Paper Tree, Printworks, Raindrops on Roses, Rubb=
er Stampede, Sonlight Impressions, Stampendous!, Stamps Happen, Stampscap=
es, Uptown Rubber Stamps.
In addition to rubber stamps, I sell accessories & paper that can be =
ordered from the above companies. If there's something you're looking =
for, please feel free to ask. I would be glad to do some research to fin=
d a particular product for you (although members of this list are a great=
resource). If there's a particular company you like, please introduce =
them to me. From time to time, I like to add a new company and am always=
looking for input. In fact, I am considering adding another company ver=
y soon. Has anyone heard of Hampton Art Stamps and what do you think of =
them (you can e-mail me privately)? They have ads in some of the rs mags=
. E-mail me if you're also interested in ordering. They've got Norman =
Rockwell stamps and some really BIG bugs that a customer wants to order. =
:)
I offer an alternative for customers who might not live in the area and=
cannot host a home party. If you can organize an order through your rub=
ber stamp club, friends, or neighbors and the order exceeds $150, you can=
earn 10% of the sales in free merchandise. You can order from any 3 of =
the above listed companies when placing a group order.
I also have a web page, but since I am very new at this, I am relying =
on AOL's Personal Publisher to help me with my web page at the time, so =
it's not very fancy, but it does provide you with information on monthly =
specials, prices on some accessories, stamp price lists, a complete price=
list for the Stampendous catalog (since I order from this company most =
often), and a few links to stamp companies that have web pages. I also =
have a quarterly newsletter on my site.
That's all I can think of for now. Please contact me if you have any =
questions. Oh, and if you can find it in your heart to send me display =
samples (using any of the above companies), please e-mail me and I'll giv=
e you my snail addy. Thanks so much!

Subject: RS: SSS August pckg rcvd!!!! (Long)
Hello all!!
I got my August package today....my very first one...you should've seen me
ripping into that sucker!!!!
Ok....here is what I got ( I have a VERY cool sender) ...pulling items back
out of box to describe:
An AWESOME handmade (?) bag with a Fimo type pin attached...inside the bag
was a little animal print stamp, a recipe card type stamp with berries on it,
and an unmounted Viva Las Vegastamps postage stamp stamp (make sense)..has
Elvis on it..very cute!!! By the way...would LOVE to have the directions to
make on of those lil' bags...used to have them...lost in all my crap now I
guess!!
2 sheets of metallic cardstock, gold and silver....some beautiful little
paper bags...a bunch of floral print napkins to make envys with....a package
of bookmarks, a package of blank tags for bags....some butterfly and balloon
shapes with bright pink envys....3 sheets of stickers (love the ones with the
purple background..hats, shoes, butterfly, sunglasses..toooo cute)....a
package of creme color corrugated paper....a package of "craft your own
stickers"...pink and yellow Japanese tissue paper (gorgeous stuff).
Anyone jealous yet??? There's more!!! :)
I got a sheet of square templates...and I needed these...I have almost all
the other ones, but no squares!! (well, now I do!!)...a package of "Almost
Leather"....a Country Crafts magazine (with my FAV quilt pattern on the
front)...a very cute note pad that says "To Do: Can do. Will do. Must do. &
Deep do"....a color box cat's eye...a botle of Tombo Monoaqua liquid glue...a
container of little purple confetti hearts.
What else...a big silk sunflower, a book (looks like a good ol' romance)...a
direction sheet to make a "homespun gingerbread card"...a sponging tool (way
neat..never had seen these before)....a cute little pen with a happy face
head and hands on top (gotta hide this one from my daughter).
My SS also sent my daughter 2 really neat barrettes with shells on
them..sorry, had to open it to see what was in it before her. And my SS's
kids threw in some comic books..they wanted to get in on the action. Thanks
kids...Caitlin will love them!! She is a comic book NUT!!!
Oops..almost forgot one thing...I got this "stick" of the gold streamer stuff
with purple, green, and gold stars. It is really cool looking!!! I have to
keep grabbing it away from my cats...they want it bad!!
Thanks so much to my SSS...you are wonderful!!!!!!!!! :)
Jaimee
Hmmmm...was that Victoria's Secret tissue paper used to wrap some of the
items??? That may be a hint for me!!!! :)

Subject: RS: Terrie Price's Newbie Swap
Oh boy oh boy have I been waiting for this one. My VERY first swap on this
list and today it arrived. First of all I'd like to thank Terrie for hosting
this swap. Always nice when you are a newbie to test the waters with other
newbies. So a big thank you to you Terrie.
Now for the goodies, Beth made a card a bit larger than a quarter fold with
blue and white horizontal stripes on the front background. Did you use
liquid applique on the blue stripes, Beth? Over that she stamped an
assotment of seashells in blue on white paper which has been cut with a
deckle scissors.
Second, is a lovely pink card, sponged I beleive and cut --gosh ---how to
explain this, there is a floral branch with a lovely bird sitting on it but
the bird and part of the branch has been partially cut out and folded so they
kinda ?standout? from the rest of the card. Not a good description but a
lovely card done by Denise (Freckles)
Next is a post card done by Deb EvensBraun. The postcard is black cardstock,
then a layer of giftwrap like paper which has been wrinkled and then sponged
with gold. Is this correct Deb? And on top of that is another layer of
black cardstock and finally a pocketwatch stamped on white paper with torn
edges and edged with the gold. Very interesting Deb.
Then there is a card done by Shirley Spencer. It is done on a dusty rose
cardstock and she has stamped a sprinkling can filled with flowers and ivy on
the front. Simple but nicely done.
And last but not least,a white glossy card with a big basket stamped on the
front and embellished with brown liquid applique. And tumbling out of the
basket are the most luscious looking strawberries which Julienne has covered
with Plaid Dimensional Magic-- kinda looks like envirotex. Inside the card
she has stamped in gold embossing "May your day be as special as you are to
me". Lovely card.
Thanks to all the participants for all the lovely cards. I really enjoyed
this swap.

Subject: RS: CHEERS AND JEERS from a Canadian
CHEERS:
To US vendors who deal with Canadians. So far I've had dealings with
(in no particular order): Wenonah, Baggie, Rubberchickenlady, Sue Beck,
Kendra, Stampingmom, Michelle of Grandma's Attic, Ingrid Yadao, Ruthann,
Stampo, Ellen Gengler, Paper Palette, Fran Shaw, Valerie Settle of Third
Coast, and Phil. NO one has said, "sorry, you're Canadian and that's
too much trouble." NO one has complained about shipping hassles,
paperwork or the like. In fact, DOUBLE CHEERS to Phil Schloss, who
decided to give it a try with the clear sticker paper. In good faith,
he sent me an order of it, and sent it before my check arrived in his
mailbox, to save time on my waiting for my package. THANKS, Phil - the
experiment was a success!
JEERS:
To a certain stamp company in New Jersey (no names, but 3 initials are
its name and they advertise in RSM) who refuses to deal with Canadians.
I'd sent a check a while ago for a catalogue and had it returned sans
catalogue, with a note saying that they don't deal with Canadians. I
phoned just today to ask if that policy had changed, and was told that
it was just too much of a hassle with extra paperwork and UPS being on
strike and all, and extra shipping costs (which, by the way, people, the
CUSTOMER pays anyway!). I was told to get an American pen pal who could
do my ordering and send it to me.
So this is not to slam any company or complain - it's to point out the
wonderful spirit on this list (and other companies not represented here
with whom I've had mail order dealings) in accepting your Canadian
neighbors as equal customers. Thanks, you guys!

I have a built-in dishwasher --- DH!
He's great --- hardly ever misses a day or a spot.
It's only fair, right; I cook, he cleans up. Actually
I think he cleans up more often than I cook, though.

I really should have thought this through before posting - I have yet
ANOTHER additional piece of info I'd like to include, so here's the
whole shebang:
Your Name
Your Company's Name
Your Email
Your Snail Mail
Your phone number (optional)
Which companies you carry
Do you manufacture your own stamps
Angel Company - yes or no
Website
Your discounts
If you accept CC and which ones
I think that's pretty much all the information we need - please excuse
the many renovations to this questionnaire, I believe I'll sit back and
compile...
Lissa
PS let me know, anyone, if you'd like to receive a copy of this list
when it's done. TIA

Subject: RS: I'm Back!
It seem like it has been years since I talked to y'all. I'm back from
my business trip at ready to talk stamps and stamping. It's great to
know that I don't have to be politically correct here.
I received notice of my very own SSS and one that I have been assigned
to. We've already been talking, through e-mail that is. I couldn't
take any stamping stuff with me and boy did I go through withdrawal! I
did buy a couple of cool things at a stamp store I found in Ghradehli
Square in Frisco. I had several swaps waiting for me when I got home.
I have yet to go through it all. I will report to the list as soon as I
have had time to take a breath.
Great talkin' to y'all again.

Stampalicious aka Marci Williams
