Subject: Re: RS: Fruit & Vegetable Swap is here
I got my swap back yesterday. Thanks, Mandy, this swap was great!
>From Deni, watermelon embossed in green on black cardstock and thinking
of you embossed in copper on black, both images cut out and layered
over dark green mulberry paper on black cardstock
>From Jo Foster, bright orange cardstock with yellow layer with stamped
fruits and a girl with flowers and groceries, embossed and colored in
on grey on top of the yellow - bright and pretty with a wrapping paper
envy that goes great with the card
>From lwagers, white cardstock with images in each corner stamped in
black -
corn, strawberry, radishes, and basket of tomatoes, three tiny red
ladybugs
then a rainbow stamped rectangle that has a cool border and star and moon
and tomato inside cut out and layered on the white. Neat co-ordinating
wallpaper envy.
No name, on black cardstock, happy birthday written in white and a square
image with black and white checkered border and apple tree branch int
the middle, brightly colored in - beautiful card
Michelle Oakley, on natural-type brown cardstock, eggplant,
celery, asparagus, and carrots colored on the stamp and stamped randomly
all over the front - I think I am going to try something like this,
very simple and effective - I love it

That white thing that looks like an eraser??? It really IS an eraser! :}>
Try rubbing the chalks in patterns, circles, lines of color... whatever feels
good to you... into your paper before you stamp, using a soft cloth to rub
and blend. Then.... after you've stamped.... you can come back and
highlight certain areas by "lifting" the chalk color out with the eraser.
Use the corners of the eraser for the tiny areas you may want to
highlight.
Have fun.... Ellen :}> Evo

From: reeves@mail.enternet.com.au (Kym Pottinger)
Subject: RS: Strawberry Swap Arrives (Long)
Got my swap cards earlier this week. They took three weeks to arrive - what
a long plane trip across the Pacific that was!
Many thanks to Lisa for hosting and for generously offering to send me some
of her cards when it looked as if mine might have been lost.
From Kristin Tilley, a lovely patch work card using a strawberry stamp from
Stampin Up. Kristin has used a black pen to give a "stitched" border to the
card. It's layered with overlapping pieces of red paper and a red and white
check paper. One strawberry stamp has also been given a "hand stitched"
look and is made to look a bit like a postoid, layered over the checked
paper. The red paper has gold embossed starwberries scattered over it. My
Mum is really into patchwork and I am going to have to make her a card like
this one I think!
From Laura in Tacoma (sorry, can't read the last name), a card in a
beautiful envelope. The envelope is stamped all over with a teeny tiny
strawberry from Visions of Ink. I want this stamp! Inside is a pale pink
card with the same teeny tiny strawberry stamped in the background. Then
it's layered with green mulbery and then on the top of this another layer of
card stamped with a little bear from Stampendous. The bear has strawberries
on her apron and on her watering can. Inside is a border of strawberries
and Laura has written "You're the Berry Best"
From Thumper, a bookmark made of glossy cardstock. This is stamped with the
most realistic strawbery stamp I have seen. Where did you get this? At the
top, stamped and embossed in sparkly red it says "A true friend is a
precious treasure" The back ground of the bookmark is a very pale pink,
edged with green. At the top, is a heart shaped cut out with a piece of
green ribbon threaded through it. This is the first time I've received a
bookmark in a swap and it looks good!
From DK Stoneman - a great idea! A layered postcard with a recipe for
strawberry margaritas on it. It's white layered over red over white. The
recipe is printed in green and has little starberries (what else!) stamped
all around it. Makes my mouth water just looking at it....
From Stamperella, another original idea. She has used a cream textured card
(sorry I don't recognise this cardstock). Layered over the top are a whole
buch of strawberries, all stamped in a big pile. On the top, a few are cut
out separately and layered over each other, giving a 3D effect. Over this
she has layered a piece of a punnet of strawberries, giving the impression
that it's a punnet full of strawberries. A little toothpick sticks up out
of the punnet, with a sign on it saying "u-pick 'em" Inside it reads
"You're the berries" A very original idea - great recycling too!
Last, but not least, Erin sent a fridge magnet made out of a strawberry
stamp from Inkum. Very cute and already sitting on a fridge!
Thanks to everyone for such lovely cards and things.
I've only seen two other descriptions of this swap - and no one has
described one of my cards :( I know lots more of you played. Where are you
all? I'd love to know what everyone else received!

Sorry, I no longer have the information who originally posted the
Psychology Test, but after getting my printer fixed yesterday, I took a copy
of the test to work. I can't begin to tell you how much fun everyone in our
small office had with it! We laughed all day comparing our answers.
I have to say though that I think we all have some serious problems, as we
all chose large "bodies" of water to cross, but nobody wanted to "get wet."
A couple even refused to cross it altogether!!
Anyway, you know who you are, and thankyou......it really brightened our
day!!

Layered that on a pastel blue card (It was a boy). On the inside I wrote:

Evolving Images... our name, rubber stamps... our game,
neat paper and HALOS, too.
On the list for a year... and yes, we're still here ! :{<>
shipping our goodies to you. :}>
On AOL 2 years... through the sunshine and tears...
checking in, still, right on cue.
It feels like play... but we have to have pay,
'cause this IS what we do...
7 days a week and even as I speak...
the minutes are rushing through...
We love it so much ... but for stamping and such...
the hours are too few...
Been up since 4... but I need more...
Oh, so much to do!
Designing our stamps... then using the amps
to press the rubber for you...
On top of all that... Mr Evo flat
refuses to count paper, too...
Sez it's so much fun... to see me run
to check what really was due! :{<>
Now I'm no poet... but wouldn't you know it...
this mostly rhymes, it's true!
So give us a yell and it's in the mail...

PS: Thanks for a wonderful year, here, folks... and a big welcome
to all you stampers new on the list. Y'all stay awhile, you hear?

received labels from my SS, but it sure was great to see a pic of
Giggles!! She looks exactly like I thought she would!! Getting to see
that angelic smile is worth a million bucks!!!
What a perfectly beautiful couple! Both inside and out!!!
Now, I have to go back, so I can print it out!!
Take good care

Subject: RS: Wow what great people
I have such a great admiration for the people on this list. Not a day goes
by that I don't get a e-mail or a snail mail that encourages Mark and I to
hang in there. You are so wonderful.
annomous sent me the cutest card on the front it had some layering and a
small bottle of pickles were stamped on the front. On the inside she had
put closed until November and told me to have the doctor staple it to my
cervix. We laughed so hard about that! What a thoughtful card thanks so
much!
Then yesterday there was a package at our post office waiting. I am not
sure who sent it, they only said that they had received it and then took
some things out of it and then put more things into it and sent it on. It
is a kindness kit that was started in summer of 1996 by Leilani Schooling.
Wow this was so great, you know I can't go out and shop for stamps or
anything else for that matter and this was like the store coming to me.
They said there was no hurry in passing it along if I chose to do that. I
really have missed being a secret stamper, not sending anything out, and
not having a package waiting, and this was a wonderful surprise!!!! It has
stamps, embossing powder, paper more stamps and more stamps. It is so much
fun and my very favorite stamp has an Mary Engelbright, one of my favorite
people my stamp room has cards she has done framed and put up on the walls,
anyway it is the one that the girl is pouting. Boy do I need that one now!
I only have one of her other stamps. This was so much fun. The only
problem with the box was I kept having to push Mark out of the way so I
could see what was in it too. There were so many cool things that he will
enjoy as well.
Thank you family for all of your thoughtful endeavors. I am sorry if you
have sent me something and I have not written it on the list, I truly meant
to write it all, unfortunately I only get to the computer every 2-3 days
because when I sit up I swell up. I truly am grateful that I found this
list of people who are the most caring people.
With love
Jodi

From: "mark or jodi hansen" <hansnart@burgoyne.com>
Subject: RS: Tan: Brag about my DH (long)
Excuse me all for wanting to brag about my sweet husband. I try and tell
each of you when someone has done wonderful things to me, but as usual Mark
gets left behind a bit. He never complains and I try to thank him in
person but I wanted to do it on the list this time if you don't want to
read you can delete now.
A year and a half ago when I got pregnant the first time Mark told me to
quit and he would take care of things. When we lost that baby 5 months
later he was the shoulder I cried on and the one that kept me strong. It
has always been my dream to be a at home mom, even though I like to work
and get out of the house I have always wanted to do that. Well we tried
for another year with losing one more child in that time and I had some
difficulty dealing with daily things. Mark was working 2 jobs to support
us. He never complained if he came home to a messy house or dinner wasn't
ready.
Now that I am bed ridden, he gets up at 5:30 so he can get his fix and read
e-mail from this list, He then goes to work at 7:30 and works until 5:00
Monday through Friday teaching English as a second language to elementary
kids who love him. If we are out in public they run up to him Marcos,
Marcos and give him a high five. Then he delivers pizza 3-4 nights a week
to help with the income. When he is home he is making sure that orders are
filled here for those of you who have ordered, he presses the rubber and
does everything with that, I had planned on doing all of that, then when I
got pg he just took over. Then he cleans and cooks dinner. All the while
running in and out of my room taking care of me. Doing all the things I
had saved up for him during the day. He calls me every day to just say I
love you and how are you and he leaves me love notes. He spends every
minute he can trying to entertain me and keep me up on the outside world.
I would say I am sorry this is so long but there are so many other things I
could write and this could go on forever, so to me it is short.:)
Thank you Mark for being there and being my best friend.
I also want to thank all of you who have included him in all the congrats
and how are you's. When he goes to work people only ask how is your wife,
even when we lost the baby. He probably is having to deal with more than
me and I am grateful for all that has included him.
Thanks
Jodi
