Hi!
I had been in a somewhat similar situation several years ago. I took
work home with me so I could do my best. (I always but my all into
jobs.) I was not about to give up. After a while I was fired. I filed
for unemployment and they wanted to fight it. I mentioned to the
umemployment office that my boss had said, several times, that she would
break my fingers. I was so young and inexperienced I really did not
realize what that meant. Of course the day of the umemployment court
date they cancelled, and I got all the umemployment monies due me. So, I
going on and on about me. I'm just trying to tell you to do your VERY
BEST. Think about what you want to do. Staying in a job is sometimes
better, but very difficult. Please keep me posted. I'm unsubscribing
for a week or so. I have things going on at home and I can't keep up
with the mail. Best of luck! Your in my thoughts.

Not sure about copiers, but you can semi-safely run up to 67 pound paper
through a laser printer. Hand feeding is best, some printers won't lift
card stock out of the tray but will work with manual feeding.
Bristol Exact something (can't read the end of the ream from here) fits the
67 pound limit. I use that a lot.

Well, if you take that bag of Cheez-its into a store that sells paper, I hope
you don't touch anything....and that drink better be covered....I don't own a
store, but I have been annoyed and offended at some of the things customers
do in the stores I frequent--including being careless with food and drink and
spoiling what might have been perfectly good merchandise. I know that was
meant to be light-hearted, and I know all of US are always careful, but I
still hope that bag of Cheez-its stays in the car.

Elaine,
The main thought here (IMHO) is that we all agree to disagree!
It was something I learned at some seminar I attended when I was
working. If I remember that, then things usually don't get out of hand.
I'll shut up for now.

pfffft! It's marked TAN.
A couple of things come to mind. Put the potty chair away.
Don't say word about it. Pull it out in a couple of weeks and remain
silent.
Potty training often becomes a power struggle: it is theone thing in
her little
life that she can control :) She gets lots of attention from the
whole thing.
Matter of fact, "benign" behavior on YOUR part.
With our kids(4), we discovered "doing by example" works with many
things, including
toilet training. Open door policy works.
Tell grandma to mind her own business (nicely as possible: this woman
raised the father of your child and you will have to deal with her for a
very long time!
- this grandchild is *NOT* like any
other child in the whole world. She is unique and you can guarantee
that
she will not graduate from high school with a wet/dirty diaper :)
MANY kids are not trained until 3 or 3.5. Earlier than 2 usually
means mom is trained (mom puts the kid onthe toilet til he goes or
at specified times).
OH! Once you know she can keep herself dry: sometimes kids "revert"
back to untrained days if they know it will get them more attention.
Solution to this is to allow
ONE set of clothes per day; if child soils cpants, then she is cleaned
up,
(let her do most of the work htere, too) and put in her PJ's -even if
it is
11 AM! "Sorry,d ear, one set of clothes per day" (Tell her the rule
BEFORE
you inplement if you decide to do this- don't just spring it on her)
Once in jammies, the "day" is over- no trips out to play, to the
library, to
church, to grandma's whatever.
Most of all, whatever course you decide upon, BE CONSISTENT!!!!
Hope this helps...
Sandy

Subject: RS TAN Public Apology
Okay, time for me to practice what I preach. I'm always complaining that
people are quick to lash out in public, but not to apologize. Anyway, I
really overreacted to Robin's list schedule idea--and I regret not only
sending my post, but ccing it to the list. I've already sent an apology to
Robin, but I feel like a hypocrite since, as I mentioned, it really does bug
me that the flames hit the list and the apologies don't show up as often.
I still don't think the proposal will work. I do think maybe there's
something we can do to control list volume (like not posting things like
this...yeah, well, I'd rather answer to you guys than my conscience--or are
*you* guys my conscience?) Being a chatterer and completely resistant to
"rules", my goal is to only post what I think needs to go to the list and to
post at least as many stamping messages as tans (now that should add to the
list volume!) Perhaps, I should say post stamping messages more often than
tans...yeah, yeah that's the ticket!
Now can I go to bed? :) Cynthia

Thanks for ordering the Connors backpack.
I'm missing your messages, but otherwise I'm fine.
I'm wondering if you have decided for certain to stay in your home.
And how that grandson is doing.
Caske is coming over this afternoon while his parents go to the movies.
We have a hard time getting them to turn lose of him for even that long.
This is only the fourth time he has stayed with me...
and last time, he slept all the time he was here.
His mother calls and has me talk to him on the phone when he is
fussy--not crying or in any real need, but just fussing. He gets
so quiet while I talk.
When he is here, I sing lullabys to him and he kinda "hums" along,
but no one would believe me. So last time they called and put him
on the phone, I sang to him...and he hummed along. His mother came
on the phone to see what I was doing...
Oh, she said, this noise
he's making is what you mean by hummming...we thought he was fussing!!
Just have to teach these kids everything...
take care and keep in touch.

Jen,
I invested in a paper cutter - Boston #2612. It is 12 x 13 and the important
part is that it has a (plastic edger) that can be moved depending on the size
of your paper. You then lock it so your paper is held very steady and even.
I love it! I have access to a large paper cutter at work but with 50 people
using it the blade never seems to be sharp enough. Also for some reason
edges weren't always even. I do not have the problem with the one I
purchased. It has a long sharp blade. I would not recommend getting those
that cut with razors or similar. I bought it at a paper supply store (J.C.
Paper) and it was about $25. Best bargain I've gotten to date!!!
Happy cutting!
