  144. You most definately did not cook it enough.  Here's a little better info
  145. for you.  I have been putting the milk and sugar in on medium heat and
  146. stirring once in awhile.  I let it melt together for about 10 minutes. 
  147. When it starts to boil I add the Vanilla and the Butter and stir until
  148. the butter is melted.  I then add the peanut butter.  This whole process
  149. takes about 15 minutes but it has been turning out right ever single time
  150. since I've been timing it.  Good luck!  It's the pits when it doesn't
  151. turn out!  Yucko!

  187.     I received my package from my SS today! This is such a wonderful
  188. package and I keep looking through everything over and over again in
  189. sheer amazement. Much of the package is dedicated to demonstrating three
  190. wonderful techniques new to me - stamping on velvet, copper metal
  191. sheeting stamping, and mosaic strip technique. Supplies to make cards
  192. using these techniques are included in the package - and most amazing of
  193. all - my SS took the time and trouble to type out directions and make
  194. absolutely beautiful cards for me in each technique! I am totally in awe
  195. of my SS's talent!
  196.     I'm never in a million years going to be able to do these
  197. beautiful cards justice with my description, but I'll give it a try. To
  198. demonstrate the copper metal sheeting stamping, my SS stamped small
  199. leaves all over the front and back of the card in fall colors. On the
  200. front is an exotic paper like a white mulberry paper with different
  201. leaves stamped and embossed in fall colors. Attached in the upper right
  202. corner on an angle is a rectangle of copper sheeting that has been
  203. stamped and embossed with an oak leaf and press-embossed around the edges
  204. to make a frame. It's attached to the card with a pretty brown ribbon
  205. hole punched through the metal and the card. This card is in a wallpaper
  206. envelope of matching colors. Awesome!
  207.     For the mosaic strip technique, my SS made a card with a burgundy
  208. background dabbed with gold. On this was layered pink glossy cardstock
  209. with deckled edges. On top of that is centered the beautiful mosaic
  210. strips that have been glazed and are shiny. In the center of the mosaic
  211. is a beautiful egg with a rose pattern, embossed in gold and colored in
  212. so beautifully. The egg is raised for a 3-D effect. Absolutely stunning!
  213.     The velvet stamped card example is on pale green and white
  214. cardstock with a window cut a little higher than center. Behind the
  215. window is flowers stamped onto velvet. A soft green cord edges the
  216. window, with the tie at the lower right. So elegant. My SS also sent a
  217. second velvet stamped sample - a large winter scene of a village with
  218. trees... totally beautiful.
  219.     In my package I received:
  220.  *a large wood mounted stamp - Mostly Animals "Pitcher of Flowers"
  221.  *a wood mounted stamp - Azadi Earles wreath with roses and a bow
  222.  *a beautiful hand cast paper angel from Non Sequitur
  223.  *metallic rub-ons kit with seven colors (can't wait to try these!)
  224.  *paper trimmer (DH was playing with that already and thinks it's great!
  225. It           goes on *my* work table though!) <g>
  226.  *a baggie of unmounted dies, including many sayings, people and a house
  227. with    trees - most already on Halos!
  228.  *a package of yummy chocolate cinnamon cocoa
  229.  *PSX glitter
  230.  *Press-A-Frame from Hero Arts
  231.  *two packages of brass sheet metal and several sheets of copper
  232.  *a package of peel-and-stick double sided adhesive
  233.  *a big package of beautiful colors of paper strips
  234.  *four very large pieces of the most beautiful velvet material in rich
  235. burgundy,      brown, white and green
  236.  
  237.     Everything was wrapped in pretty tissue paper. Thank you so much
  238. SS for such a wonderful package! I truly do appreciate how you have taken
  239. the time to choose everything that is so perfect for me! A special thank
  240. you for all the time you spent making the lovely cards.

  291. you think.  I can't even begin to count the number of people who have posted
  292. that they are leaving town for a weekend or longer, letting anyone listening
  293. in know that their house will be sitting empty.  I know we hate to live in
  294. fear, but we *do* need to be careful about the info we let out.  Remember the
  295. story someone posted not long ago about the little girl and the "internet
  296. policeman" who tracked her down by info she innocently gave out on the web?

  346. these pins. Now I have a great idea of what everyone is talking about. These

  349. Next was a RAK card from Susan Benedict, the Coffee Stamper. Mauve cs, layered
  350. with dark purple (not sure of the color). On the purple cs was Iris's stamped
  351. in gold ep. Very elegant, very nice. Thanks Susan for the taste of kindness.

  353. And then, a RAK card from Glitterface. Light blue cs, layered with ivory cs.
  354. On the ivory cs, an old lady in a bathrobe and slippers with curlers in her
  355. hair, holding a cup of coffee. The saying below her says "My advice
  356. deary...start the day with a smile and get it over with! Toooo cute! Thanks
  357. Glitterface for making me smile. Will be thinking of the card 1st thing in the
  358. a.m.

  486. Sorry, I know its not a joking matter, but I have no good advice, only
  487. sorrow for you. Living in an apartment complex, I feel I am BLESSED with
  488. quiet neighbors. I only hear one of them about 12pm everyday when he plays
  489. the electric guitar for about half hour. I don't complain, because he's not
  490. interrupting my sleep (or he shouldn't be LOL) and its just me and him at

  652. There are several things you can do.
  653.  
  654. 1.  The neighborhood, as a group, should write the landlord. He should be
  655. informed that you will (as a group) seek legal action against him if he
  656. doesn't alleviate the "nuisance" (and that's a real legal term!!) that has
  657. cropped up in the neighborhood.  The landlord CAN be held accountable to the
  658. neighborhood; he may not realize that.
  659.  
  660. 2.  Check with your local prosecutor.  Often, property can be
  661. condemned/forfeited if it is being used for illegal purposes.  In  many
  662. counties, the prosecutor has someone in their office who specifically handles
  663. forfeiture cases.  The prosecutor can write a letter to the property owner
  664. advising them that *if* the property is being used in an illegal manner, it is
  665. subject to forfeiture by law.
  666.  
  667. 3.  Continue to maintain open lines of communication with the police.  Often,
  668. the best information law enforcement receives regarding drug trafficking is
  669. the information given by concerned citizens.  The entire neighborhood should
  670. document those warning signals that drugs may be available for purchase in
  671. this house:  those signs *may* include:
  672.     a.  large am'ts of in/out traffic where the people stay only for short
  673. periods of time
  674.      b.  traffic in/out of the house during unusual time periods
  675.  
  676. 4.  Document the car tag numbers and give THOSE to the police.  I would speak
  677. specifically to the sgt. in charge of the Drug/Vice unit in my community, as
  678. that person would be most in touch with the "intelligence" surrounding the
  679. drug community.
  680.  
  681. The thing a drug dealer hates worse than anything is community pressure.  Your
  682. neighbors, if you REALLY suspect drug trafficking, can videotape the traffic
  683. in and out of the house.  Let me tell you, if you do this PUBLICLY, as is
  684. happening in a number of high drug areas, the dealers will find a better place
  685. to be.  (I myself find this to be a high risk activity, just so you know.)
  686.  
  687. There is usually a person in either the prosecutor's office or the police
  688. department who works with Neighborhood Watch Associations.  Get in touch with
  689. that person for more information  :)
  690.

  853.     I meant cushion and loop tape. Sheryl says with halos you don't need
  854. cushion probably due to the "play" between hook and loop tape .  I
  855. started using funfoam for cushion when I first started stamping, and
  856. Susan of Diva fame suggested I double the foam on certain of her more
  857. detailed stamps.  I liked the results and often doubled the cushion.  I
  858. bought some large card-sized stamps from Rubber Anarchy and mounted on
  859. Halos, then had a horrible time trying to stamp them.   I see no real
  860. problem with extra cushion, usually it can only help.  Unfortunately, I
  861. let myself listen to friends "but you can't use cushion and halos!" and
  862. my lazy nature, and again mounted large Stamp Out Cute images directly
  863. on Halos---I haven't tried these yet.  Lots of people say brayer color
  864. over the large stamps and I'm sure this will work, just need to overcome
  865. my own mental resistance.
  866. Just for comparison I have a large wood mounted Magenta image and the
  867. only way I can get full print is by putting it on the floor and standing
  868. on it.  Oh, and the only time I've had too much cushion was with
  869. alphabets--too thick a cushion was provided by company (a freebie)  and
  870. the individual letters and # were wobbily.
  871.      As to the three tiered companies I've only seen a few, 100 Proof
  872. Press being the most notable.  Acuey Duecy did sale her unmounted with
  873. cushion, but I don't know her current policy

  889. Today's CNET Central tv program had people on it who's business it is to
  890. find out all about someone.  They had only the names of two people on the
  891. show, and were able to find out amazing things about them.  Names,
  892. addresses, birthdays, SS #s, property owned, cars, accidents and so on.
  893.   
  894. In fact, a couple of years ago a local reporter was doing a piece on the
  895. same subject and asked for volunteers from people on his e-mail list.  I
  896. volunteered, and he did a search.  Then he came over and showed me all
  897. that he found (personally, without going through paid investigators), and
  898. I was totally surprised.  One thing he discovered was that someone else
  899. had used my SS# on a credit application to purchase a car in Alpheretta,
  900. GA.  
  901. He did searches on several of us and then did a feature article about it
  902. and how easy it is to find information about people.

  993. schoolmates, so I went there and found 4 or 5 names that were familiar
  994. from my high school graduating class.  I had totally lost touch with

  1006. alumni now.  Seeing all those familiar names and getting out the yearbook

  1038. division, so you just get points - not official competition.  I wouldn't
