  114. Do any of you remember me telling you that one of the gals at my
  115. favorite little stamp store here is pregnant?  Well, she isn't in the
  116. stamp business anymore, but I still want to hostess a swap for her and
  117. her little guy/girl???  Don't know what sex the baby is yet, so if they
  118. find out, I will tell you.  This is the proposal.... I would like to do
  119. a 5 for 4 swap.  One goes to Tammy and the others I will swap.  Tammy is
  120. a Christian lady and just remarried in Novemember.  She says that her
  121. little boy was her guide in deciding whether she should marry again and
  122. they're all in love! :)  Soon they will have a little one to add to
  123. their happy little family. Due, the cards, that is,  say June 30.  I
  124. think the baby is due in August.  Come on guys, rubberstampers are known
  125. for how wonderful we are!  Please make Tammy remember what it's like to
  126. be a rubberstamper!  Sometimes, I think, since she's doing real estate,
  127. she may forget what it's like!  :)

  148. As I was responding to a post from a fellow stamper, I realized how my
  149. stamp preferences have changed.  I wonder if this phenomenon has occured
  150. with other stampers.

  152. I started out with lots of floral stamps...mostly PSX which was readily
  153. available to me .....and I thought I could master.  Then went to some
  154. cute people stamps ie....Imaginations...am now hooked on nostalgia,
  155. Victorian, ethnic.....so, you veterans, what will I be zero-ing in on
  156. next.  Statistically, there must be a logical progression...save me some
  157. grief and tell me what I'll be buyin next year! LOL!

  858. We have some new neighbors who have turned our street upside down. Our street
  859. has always been very queit and we all know each other very well. Last  year
  860. our neighbor across the street died after living in the neighborhood for 60
  861. years. The house was sold to a man who now rents it to two 23 year olds. 
  862.  
  863. These two party Friday afternoon until Sunday evening. There are at least
  864. 20-50 people coming and going all weekend. During the week there are people
  865. coming and going every half hour or so and not staying very long. (Indicates
  866. to me that drugs are floating in and out of the house.) There is a signal with
  867. the porch light, on means stop in, we'er open for business, off means don't
  868. bother.
  869.  
  870. The music from the stereo is so loud that we can't hear out TV and that is
  871. when our doors and windows are shut. The weather is starting to turn nice and
  872. I want to open my windows. 
  873.  
  874. The third weekend the cops were called because there were about 50 people
  875. fighting in the street and yard at 3:30 am. Of course most people left by the
  876. time the cops arrived so no one was arrested.
  877.  
  878. This has been going on for about 2 months and the whole neighborhood is up in
  879. arms but know one seems to know what to due about it. I'm going to the police
  880. department this week and talk to them. Surely the majority of the neighbors
  881. should have rights compared to two 23 yr. olds who are so rude and their
  882. friends. 
  883.  
  884. Complaints to the landlord have not been working. He is getting his money and
  885. he doesn't live near the commotion. I'm afraid to call the police every time
  886. they party because a possible retaliation. 
  887.  
  888. I was wondering if anyone else has had problems like this before and what
  889. recourse you have taken. My DH and I want to move but who wants to buy a house
  890. with party central across the street. Any help/advice would be appreciated by
  891. not only me but most of my neighbors too.

  1035. What is WRONG with some people???  I'm reading _Deep End of the Ocean_
  1036. (about a family whose 4 year old was kidnapped) and it's really gotten me
  1037. to thinking about some of the careless things people do (almost
  1038. routinely), and how usually there aren't any dreadful consequences... 
  1039. but it's just such a huge risk to be that trusting (or lazy) in this day
  1040. and age.

  1042. I think I would have watched the baby just to be sure the child didn't
  1043. end up in a dangerous situation in the care of the next passerby.  Either
  1044. that or insist that the woman take her child with her, and not leave
  1045. until they were back inside the mall together.  As you mentioned, it is a
  1046. risk though.  Who knows if she has a "witness" lined up to pull in the
  1047. parking lot and say s/he saw you smacking the kid... ugh.  It makes my
  1048. stomach turn.
