I was trying to wait to jump in on this but here goes my 2=A2...my first =
name
is Sharie Rose. Now, looking at it, you may think it sounds like sherry,
but it is actually pronounced like shaw-ree or sorry with an "h" in it. =
At
my job, I deal blackjack at an Indian casino, I am called "sherry" all th=
e
time. The name sherry or similar to that is nice and pretty, but it isn'=
t
my name, either is Shari...so in case you are wondering or still reading,
that is why I use my full name.
So, Kathryn and Lissa, and all others of you whose names deviate from the
more common spellings and pronounced names, I understand where you are
coming from.
Thanks for listening!

It just drives me crazy when people call me Val. I am named after my
great uncle, his name was Val! Also, my DH is Robert. One day his boss
called and asked for Bob, and I politely said "I'm sorry there is no one
here by that name" and hung up. He called back and said "Is Robert
there?" Oh, well, live and learn!

OK for 4 months now I have been wanting to send something to Giggles. With
everything from learning to take care of a new baby to spending much of
that time either in the doctor's office or hospital, I haven't done it. I
promise myself before I went on vacation I would send her the card I have
made her. But noooo I don't do it, now I just got another card from
Giggles. It really made my day! I haven't received a card in so long and
it was so fun to get one.
It was a Suzy Zoo card and it is GREAT. I love Suzy Zoo and the way you
have put it together is great. Thanks so much Giggles. You truly are a
inspiration to me! One day I hope to be more like you. I look up to you
so much.
Spending this last week with my brother who has cancer has made me look up
to you even more. I think my brother has given up some and I don't ever
see that with you! You are constantly fighting it. Thank you for your
inspiration. I truly care about you.

Subject: RS: Paper Pockets Received
HI All
I received the paper pocket swap hostessed by Mona Everett. And she
included some GREAT paper samples. I'm going to play with some fabric
and my paper today!
Sharie Rose did a very bright cheerful card with a lot of sunflowers
mounted on a folded pocket. Gives me some ideas. Also included is a
silk flower at the fold. Very pretty and "happy". I love it.
Unknown is a v shape pocket done with a roller and with tissue inside
holding a little packet of tiny goodies. And a ribbon holds the pocket
so you could hang. These would be great for Christmas or other
holidays.
The other three pockets were probably more what Mona had in mind but I
for one LOVED the variety. As Always!!
Stanna Allen did a folded "square" pocket with little Easter/Spring
goodies inside. Tied with a ribbon.
Deb Coller did a larger version of the square packet with a Rose basket
and charm from it. Very pretty and loved the rose theme.
Finally, unknown sent a square pocket with spring grass and stickers
inside. Another great example of the folding.
Thanks to all and Mona for great hostessing.

Subject: RS: cce from Sherry
I got me second cce card for April from Sherry Webster in Calgary, AB.
For a minute there I thought the little bugger had gone out and bought a cool new
stamp and didn't tell me about it.....but then she told me it was her mother's.
On a piece of vellum Sherry stamped a nice scenery stamp with a windmill and
houses by a lake with a sailboat.....how picture perfect....makes me want to take a
vacation. This is stampped in blue, embossed with clear and highlighted from the
back with blue marker. The vellum is on a light blue cs.
Thanks for the card Sherry....it was a nice treat right in the middle of final exams.
Oh and guess what.....my dad is back from the Phillipines today with his new wife!
Can't wait to meet her and see if she's fat (baby is due in July I think) <G>
Can you imagine?! Me? A big sister.....I've always been the youngest....this kids
got me beat by 21 years.
Smiles and laughter,

From: Becky Greene <greene10@mto.infi.net>
Subject: RS: OFFICIAL: House Mouse IMAGE Swap (5/11)
I have moved the due date back to May 11th to help out those who are a
little "over-extended" right now. Let me know if I need to clarify
anything!
SWAP: House Mouse Image Swap
HOST: AlphaBecky (greene10@mto.infi.net)
ITEM: 10 for 10, House Mouse Image (on 4 1/4 X 5 1/2 white cardstock)
DETAILS: e-mail hostess for specifics
MAILING INFO: SAML, plus equivalent postage
POSTMARK BY: May 11th
RULES: Use white cardstock (glossy or non-glossy) cut to approx. 4 1/4
X 5 1/2 (one quarter section of an 8 1/2 X 11 sheet). Stamp one image
(or two if they are the small single character ones) in black,
non-smearing ink (Marvy Mathchable, Outliner, Archival, etc...) or
emboss in black EP. Do not color in!!!! I would like to concentrate on
the larger House Mouse images (card-sized), but if you need to use the
single character stamps, put two on the quarter-section (you will get
one image for two of yours). Multiple sets (especially of different
images) are very welcome.
This will be a quick, easy swap that will allow you to "test-drive" some
of the other House Mouse images you have been drooling over. No cards,
no coloring, just kerplunk (and emboss, if desired) and pop them in the
mail. The exciting part will come when you get to play with all the
images you get back!!
I know there is a swap going on for cards, etc made from House Mouse
stamps, but this is just a way for us to exchange images and expand our
selection (at least temporarily). Definitely - the more the merrier!

I have *got* to make pickles this year. since my granny died, and my mom's
neighbor with the farm in the country moved, I've not had *real* sweet
pickles.. I tried growin' cucumbers just so's I could make pickles last
couple years and.. well.. I don't grow cucumbers very well. so.. I'ma have
to bite the bullet and buy a peck I guess..
favorite sammich.. hmmm.. this is tough. lessee..
well.. turkey (real turkey) with mayo and sweet pickles is right up there
near the top.. (sourdough)
grilled cheese with tomato and mayo is pretty high up there too..
(buttermilk)
deli roast beef with lettuce and tomato and boursin cheese.. don't get much
better than that.. (cracked wheat.. or peppered potato carrot.. yummers..)
or monte cristo.. hot ham, turkey, swiss on french toast with raspberry jam
to dip in.. yummmmmmmmmmm....
anno (loves sammiches)

My sister's married name is Serfaty, a morrocan name. There is a beautiful
French pronounciation, but in English, it's "Sir-Fatty" (imagine that!). I
cannot count the times people have said "Serfarty" - and my sister tells me
usually it's when they're in a crowded restaurant waiting for their
reservations and it's called in a loud voice! I think after the first couple
of times, she and my BIL started making reservations under our maiden name,
Albert...no dangerous mispronounciations there!!!

Subject: RS: Proposed Spring Swap III... or is it IV?
I know it's been done several times this year. But, since I couldn't play in
those due to business trips, I decided to try and host my own swap. If I
don't get any responses today, I will assume that the interest is not there
for this swap. Pls email me directly, if you are interested. Here are the
swap details...
SWAP: Spring Swap
HOST: Cathy Mitchell <Ballc@aol.com>
ITEMS: 5 for 5 cards only, extra for the hostess would be appreciated
THEME: Use any Spring theme that comes to mind... Easter, flowers, pastel
coloring, etc, using any technique you like...collage, stamping, etc. Just be
sure to sign your work and include stamp credits.
MAILING INFO: SAML + equivalent postage + .32 stamp, at least a 6x9 envy
<I will reuse your envy>
POSTMARK: 25 May
DETAILS: I'll be keeping this kinda small, since it's my first swap. I'll
take the first 10 signups, to keep it manageable.

Subject: RS: NAMES
With everyone talking about names and pronunciation, I just wanted to
throw in my little story. When I was pregnant with my youngest daughter
I looked for a long time for an unusual name...I didn't want the old run
of the mill names. I finally decided on a combination of my mother and
fathers name. My father's name was Chesneter and my mother's name was
Anita (but everyone called her Neet). So I named my daughter Chesney.
She is now in the 8th grade and of course she hates her name......oh
well don't we all?
