A stick of butter or margarine is 4 oz., as the four sticks in the package
add up to a pound. That is also a 1/2 cup, of course.

Subject: RS: Re: Scrapbooking/acidity check
Does anyone else besides me have a cooling toward scrapping? I've been
scrapping for 3 years, stamping for 5 months. I'm so into stamping right
now that I haven't even touched my Christmas pictures--and I'm caught up
until then. My mom sent home 6 albums of my childhood pictures to work on
in Feb. and I havent' touched them. I think I'm going to take them back to
her in June because I just can't get into it. I almost wish I'd never
started, but then I'd never have gotten into stamping 'cause my scrapping
buddies (hey, Doris,
Shel, and Christine!) got me into stamping. I just wish I knew I wasn't
the only one who went "off" stuff like that for awhile.

I have this chalk! I've never sprayed after using and so far it hasn't
faded/smudged. It's been 5 months since I started using it and my mom has
been using/displaying cards I've made with it since then and nothing has
happened to them. I have some Aqua Net hairspray (recommended as best) to
spray for a sealant but I read that it could yellow after awhile.
Personally, I'll probably never use it for anything and I'll take my
chances with the chalk. They're sooooo great for soft colors--much nicer
than watercolors!

From: FranRShaw <FranRShaw@aol.com>
Subject: RS: My turn!! (Fran's State/Province/Country swap)
OK... my turn to describe the 4 cards I was assigned! (names were drawn at
random in case you're wondering... so YES, I get to describe some too!!)
COLORADO by Chris Hulseberg: The Rocky Mountain Concubine, a lovely blue
flower stamped on watercolor paper and watercolored (of course). She then
tore the paper and mounted the image on top of Confetti Blue cardstock. On
the inside, she describes the fragile flower that is the state flower for
Colorado.
MINNESOTA by Sharon Sandhal: Sharon started with a base of mauve duplex
cardstock on which she stamped a mosquito repeatedly (Now, I KNOW I don't want
to go to MN!! LOL!!!) On top of that, she placed a cut out shape of MN with
a duck and an Iris. On the inside, she listed several of the state's
nicknames.
IOWA by Mary Sieker: Mary created a stunning card featuring the Iowa postal
stamp which she had enlarged and color copied. Her card is done on bright
green cardstock which has been stamped with a cornstalk over and over (I love
the effect of the cornfield!). Then she placed a map of the US and colored in
where Iowa goes. On top of that is the postal stamp mounted on yellow
cardstock.
VERMONT by Michele McNamara: Done on Romaine Columns cardstock, Michelle
stamped a covered bridge and mounted it on a decorative edge white cardstock.
She then added a stamped image of the state of Vermont, and 3 beautiful
stamped and embossed autumn leaves. The inside of her card contains Vermont
historical information.
I love looking at these cards and reading them. These are soooo neat!! They
could be used in a classroom for geography lessons... lots to learn from
these!
OK... on to my favorites... hard to choose, really... they are all so
beautiful! So I will just name a few (no descriptions, and no particular
order)
MICHIGAN by Erna Jensen, OREGON by Cindy Woodard, TENNESSEE by Dot McQuade,
AUSTRALIA by Liz Whitaker, ALASKA by Linda Edwards, TEXAS by Sherrie Evers,
NEW MEXICO by Darlene Ave-Lallemant, CALIF by Penelope Lincoln, ARIZONA by Sue
Bentley, KANSAS by Karin Cernik, GREAT BRITAIN by Mary Claypool.
Thanks to all who participated. A big thank you to the 4 players who bailed
out the dropouts. and a GIANT thanks to Cindy Woodard for helping me with
making extra sets of cards (again to cover dropouts), for helping me swap the
cards and take them to the PO, and for helping keep my sanity!!! :-)

Subject: RS: Boiing card question--what is it and how do you make it?
Don't know if I have the spelling right or not but a non-list friend asked me
if I'd seen anything on the list (she knows I'm heavily addicted and spend far
too much time reading the posts) with directions for making something called a
Boiing card (or maybe it's Boing?). I've seen pop-ups, flingers and some
other neat stuff but nothing that fits that name. How about it, guys?
Anybody know about this? Thanks! Jan

Subject: RS: SWAP UPDATE: Heartwarming Cards - Due in mail 4/30
Signups for this swap is now closed. Cards are due in mail 4/30.
I find that we all could use some encouragement at this time of year and what
better way than to send and make heartwarming cards? If you have any stamps
with hearts or verses with friendly or encouraging sayings, then this is the
swap for you!!!
Note: This is NOT a Valentine's Swap! but I figured there are a lot more
ways to use those heart stamps other than in February!
E-mail me privately to sign up.

Subject: RS: April Image Swap - Disney or other cartoon characters
Still room for lots more players! Come and join us! This is my favorite
monthly swap cuz it is so easy! Plus you get to see and collect a lot of the
images that are out there........great for newbies especially!
PROCEDURES:
**Send ten (10)** cards 5-1/2 x 8-1/2 inch cards (half sheet of cardstock).
Don't fold!
Include an ADDRESS LABEL (SAML) for me to use to return the cards.
**Send $1.00 for mailing the cards back**
**(see above)** DON'T COLOR. Use WHITE - can be glossy or matte. Stamp in
black ink that won't smear if colored with markers, or you can emboss.
Tip: Vivid! or Outliners ink pads work great!
EXCEPTION: Verses are ok in color - if they seem to look better
If you want to do different images on the cards instead of all the same, that
is fine. Please include stamp credits. Put your name and e-mail addy on the
back of each card. All cards must be postmarked by the last day of each
month.
Stamp things that will be EASY to cut out. Remember you will have to cut out
what you get back to use to make your own cards.

Reminders:
Choose images that are EASY TO CUT OUT and use WHITE PAPER. The only
exception is if you do a large stamp that can only fit a couple of times on
the card, then the card can be cut in half and used like a mat. For example,
a floral image from PSX is usually large, so just stamp the image twice on
one card and the card could easily be cut in half.
** Procedures**
Send TEN cards
Send ONE DOLLAR + SAML
Due in mail by end of each month.
Can't wait to see all your great images!! Let's play!
Eva :)

My first convention is this weekend, I'm so excited. I will be wearing my

if anyone wants to look for me. I haven't made any pins yet because I am
so stumped on what to do. And I lost my dove blender, and my wonderful ss

I am happy to hopefully meet people, see lots of demos and have fun! :)
Ok, I'll go back to lurking now. Just wanted to say hi to the wonderful list!
