From: MBillett <MBillett@aol.com>
Subject: RS: Descriptions of cards my Grandaddy received (long)
When my Grandaddy had to have surgery last month, some of you sent him
cards to brighten his day. I had asked my Gran to save them for me, and she
just sent them to me the other day.
Kaye Mills ~ A beautiful card on a kind of light brown cardstock. She embossed
in gold "Hope you're feeling better". She included a photo of one of the
flowers in her garden. I don't know flowers very well, but it is a pretty
orange one, and she layered it onto green cs, then pale green cs, then peach.
That makes it really stand out from the brown. Then she has some fleur-de-lis
(hope I spelled that right) punched shapes glued around the card. And in the
corner she punched out the shape of flower. And she cut the bottom of the
front of her card with decorative scissors. Then, on the inside, she gold
embossed a flying duck. And on the bottom she wrote my Grandad a little note
on peach cs with the fleur-de-lis punched out of the corners and two big gold
embossed lines. And more little punches scattered around here and there. PLUS,
the envy has a beautiful embossed swag on the front and a decorative edge on
the flap. Now I know why she is "Ye Ole Cardmaker". Thanks so much, Kaye!
Barbara Schuck ~ She used cream colored cs and stamped a background of blue
fishing lures. This is on the front AND back of the card. Then she has a big
Alaskan Rainbow Trout (from a magazine?) glued across the fold, so his head is
on the front of the card, and his tail is on the back. And inside she wrote
(in her very nice handwriting) "Get Well Soon!" This is a very clever card!
Thanks, Barbara!
Giggles (Linda) ~ She did a "beary" cute card! Giggles used beige cs, then
some patterned paper with a red background and pictures of band-aids and
little "ouch" exclamations all over it. Then a little square of beige cs with
a bear in his easy chair, and he has all his meds on the table beside him. He
is wearing his slippers and pj's and has a thermometer sticking out of his
mouth. He actually looks a lot like my Grandad! LOL Then inside it says "Get
well beary soon". Hee hee! I love this! Thanks, Giggles!
Michele Pryor ~ Another cute card! Michele stamped a clown who looks like he
is doing a flip. She colored him in, and glittered up his hat and buttons, and
then stamped some squigglies (yes, it is too a word) all around him. And
inside she stamped some bunches of balloons and a saying "Heard you weren't
feeling very well...Hope you are up, clowning around, acting like your old
self again soon!" I like that stamp. Where did you get it, Michele? Thanks so
much for the cheery card!
This card is from someone in my stamp club, cuz she has our initials on the
back. I think my friend, Doris Marler, did this one. It is brayered cs, with
three stamped and embossed shells. Then she embossed a frame around the shells
in a clear sparkly ep. And that piece is layered onto blue cs. Inside is
stamped "I'm thinking of you" and she glued a little shell charm next to it.
And all that was in a cute envy she made out of patterned paper with bubbles
all over it. And she added some fish stickers. So adorable! Thanks, Doris!
This one is from me. I have never described one of my own cards, but I'll give
it a shot. I took very bright neon pink cs and layered a heart shape, which I
cut out of vellum, using decorative scissors. Then on the vellum I gold
embossed a botanical heart from PSX. Then I colored in the flowers with bright
pink and yellow Marvy markers, and colored the leaves green. It looks pretty
good, if I do say so myself. =) Oh, and my envy was a calendar page with
pretty Victorian ladies having tea in a garden .
Thanks to all of you for your good thoughts and prayers, and these really
lovely cards! I appreciate it and I know it made my Grandaddy smile! You
ladies are all so kind!

Subject: RS: RE: Bathrooms should be??
I accidently deleted the post that commented on painting the bathroom a "nice
shade of green"
Green's my favorite color but for your bathroom, you might want to rethink
your color choice. This is the room where you brush your teeth, wash your
face, fix your hair and put on your makeup. That green paint is going to
throw a very faint green cast to the room and to your skin. Not only may this
make you look not as well as you probably are, but it could also throw off
your makeup colors, give your teeth a yellowy cast and mess with your
haircolor if you do color.
For this room, a pink, peach or other soft warm color that would reflect
favorably off your skin might be a better choice.
Just my opinion, yet again.

Also, I received my order from Sheryl Porter..7 new paper edgers, a

THANKS SHERYL!!!!!
I also stopped at Hobby Lobby(after taking my teens to see

some holographic paper and a pansy cross stitch card to make for my

Been a good day!

This is a very interesting story. Don't know exactly how much of it is
true, but I do know what is not true. There was no mummy on board the
Titanic. This is one of the many myths that started circulating after
the disaster.

From: Nicholette Hart <nicholette@xtra.co.nz>
Subject: RS: Raine/AntJudy
We've also been hearing a blow by blow account of Ant Judys like this
past week, so what's the differance? And she had promised to be
"good"??? So what's the differance...well Raine seems to be enjoying he
confinement (lol) obviously Ant Judy is not.
I got the same impression as Shannon that this particular post of Ant
Judy's was hateful, and it's not the first time I've seen her reply to
Raine's msgs like this. There is alot of differance about being honest
about things and being spiteful.
Here we call it the Tall Poppy Syndrome (you all may do to) where if
someone is obviusly happy then they are constantly personally attacked
to try & bring them down. Continual sniping at someone like Ant Judy's
posts is very demoralizing.
As Sally mentioned it looks like jealousy/envy is raising it's ugly
head. And I dont think becomming more thick-skinned is the answer, we
have enough hard, uncaring people in this world.
Raine please dont unsub, just set your filters so you dump Ant Judy's
msgs.
It's not as if Raine even started this, she was replying to posts by
Peterpan & others who were already joking about DH's reunion in the same
vein. Others have certainly made these responses as Raine did like
valentines plans & msgs that werent meant for the list, but these were
all received in a lighthearted way & nobody was personally attacked.
Raine has not been on the list that long but she has the best of
intentions. You see it was me that got her involved with Peterpan &
Giggles fundraising as the thought of getting a neat SS parcel that also
helps out Giggles medical bills etc really appealed to me. She is a very
caring SS and it is a shame a few more arent like her.

Hi All,
I'm new to this list, so I hope I'm not posting incorrectly. Anyway,
I'll be in Sacramento the 15th through the 19th and am hoping there are
some stamp store to visit. Hopefully within walking distance of the
capitol square place? I've never been to California before, so please
put a hold on the earthquakes. :) Thanks for the info.
