  44. KOZO on Union. Kozo is a paper/bookbinding
  45. store with BEAUTIFUL stuff. Flax has a huge 
  46. selection  of paper sheets - Four big binders full
  47. of samples. Nice, spacious well kept store.

  63. You and I both had the same kind of weekend!  Only the store I found is only a 
  64. few miles from my house and poses a great threat to my marriage!  Hee!

  66. I've been really frustrated lately with the lack of "good stuff" from the two 
  67. craft stores in my area.  Most only carry one line of stamps, and they're 
  68. really picked over.  So imagine my delight when I finally decided to take a 
  69. chance and see if there was a real stamp store in the area, and there was!  I 
  70. could hardly keep from hyperventilating as I begged hubby to hurry up and put 
  71. some pants on so he could drive me over!
  72.  
  73. Once in the store, it about took a shoe horn to get me out!  I drooled, I 
  74. shook, I know I quit breathing several times and had to be patted on the back 
  75. to start up again!  Now every member of my family will be given a map and a 
  76. detailed list for all holidays!  : )
  77.  
  78. What I thought was funny was, the store is on the top floor of the local 
  79. farmer's market and these women stuck their heads in the door.  The one said 
  80. to the other "See anything in here you want to look at?"... "Nope," was the 
  81. reply.  Hmm... there are some weird people out there aren't there?  : D
  82.  
  83. It's great to be able to share stories like this with others who understand.  
  84. Although my husband tries to share my excitement, his eyes begin to get that 
  85. familiar glazed look if I talk too long.  <g>

  95. I'm sure I'm not the first to do this but had never seen any examples or
  96. samples anywhere.  I wanted to stamp a single image so I colored the top
  97. with a clear embossing pen. Then embossed it with white EP.  It took a
  98. long time to emboss and the rock got hot, a big duh :) After it was cool
  99. enough to touch I embossed my image 
  100. (a CELTIC design :) in black.  It turned out pretty cool, I'm going to do
  101. another one though before I give it away, now that I have a better idea
  102. what I'm doing.
  103. Has anyone else tried this, I would be interested to know how you did it
  104. and how you thought it turned out.

  207. I agree with what I've been reading here lately and have decided to take a
  208. break from this list. I'm signed up for a few swaps and will follow through
  209. on those. There have been some really good posts on the list regarding
  210. rubberstamping in the past, but I notice I haven't seen anything on TOTW in
  211. a couple of weeks now. I've really appreciated the response I've had to
  212. direct questions, it's been really helpful. For the small amount of hints
  213. and tips I've seen lately, the volume just isn't worth it. If there is a
  214. way of hearing about just the swaps, I'd love to have that info. So if
  215. someone knows how I can do this I would appreciate it if you could e-mail

  231. envys from (I think) Impact Images and I think they are great.
  232. I do use them a lot and the p.o. does take them, because they
  233. always end up at their destination!  They are resealable too,
  234. don't have to be cut open.

  243. just a bit bigger than I normally use and the post office was charging me extra 
  244. for the postage so I took my faithful Seal-A-Meal and was able to size them down

  265. coffee..  Which my husband has already brewed and thoroughly enjoyed..  In
  266. the second was a whole BUNCH of hersheys chocolates... Krackle and milk
  267. chocolate was my favorite and then Jim was digging for the dark chocolate
  268. and the chocolate with nuts...  In the third package was more chocolate..

  380. We finally had a break in the dreary rainy 
  381. weather and I indulged myself in a trot 
  382. about town. Saw  (and then thought of more)
  383.  some wonderful Easter Card Ideas I thought
  384.  you'd all enjoy. Easter Stamps are NOT
  385. required for these (optional and you could
  386.  work in):
  387.  
  388. *Use or create decorative paper 
  389. (paste paper, emboss with design stamps 
  390. all over some 2 inch scraps & color in with
  391.  markers/pencils or just leave uncolored &
  392.  embossed on your colored paper (you can
  393.  even "over stamp" the embossed stamp 
  394. designs to get really glittery design paper
  395.  or just use your inkpads/markers and 
  396. stamp and stamp over  on scraps to make
  397.  design/collage papers - make different 
  398. scraps with different colors of embossing
  399.  powder, use multiple colors embossing
  400.  powder on the same scrap, use mulberry
  401.  paper etc).
  402. *Cut out egg/oval shapes. 1 1/2 inch long
  403.  is great if you want to layer your card.
  404. * PLAY* You may want to layer a similar 
  405. shaped rectangle of interesting paper to
  406.  the card first (about 3/4 inch smaller 
  407. than the card is a nice size), arrange & 
  408. layer about 3 eggs, *use real grass* with
  409.  ribbon or thin strip of decorative paper
  410.  OR glue small clump of *easter basket
  411.  grass* (really thin it out) and glue some
  412.  eggs on top of that OR cut out a *basket
  413.  or bowl shape* from your decorative paper,
  414.  use eggs and/or grass and layer/collage 
  415. these together. You can also cut out bunnies
  416.  on brown paper for the chocolate rabbit 
  417. effect (I kinda like REALLY pretty eggs on
  418.  interesting papers only, but that's me).
  419. * Make explosion card - place fold on left
  420.  vertical and cut to large oval/egg shape,
  421.  then make bottom flat (so whole card is
  422.  egg shape, flat cut across bottom let's
  423.  card "stand".
  424. * Make/use larger piece of decorative
  425.  paper (how about the tissue/plastic 
  426. combo used for envy's)  and make whole
  427.  large egg shaped card.
  428. * On all, put your Easter greeting on the 
  429. inside or cover as you please.

  585. I visited the imfamous Stampers Warehouse in Walnut Creek this week while I
  586. was in Oakland this weekend. My own impressions - pretty far from
  587. SF/Oakland. A large selection of stamps, paper etc. but the prices were no
  588. better than what I get in Seattle. Staff was very knowledgeable and
  589. friendly. The one thing they had that I had never seen, which delighted me,
  590. and I bought several, were little charms of a Egyptian pharoh head -
  591. perfect to go with my Egyptian images. I'd say this is definitely worth the
  592. trip if you are passing through the Walnut Creek area, and also if you
  593. don't have any big stamp stores in your local area (we have a ton of stamp
  594. stores here in the NW - I admit it - we're spoiled) but may not be worth a
  595. taxi ride from the city or from Oakland. If you go - eat lunch at nearby
  596. Max's Diner - the best deli food I've had outside of NY. I highly recommend
  597. the Flax store in SF recommended in another email - I've been there and
  598. their prices do beat anything I could get in Seattle - not alot of stamps
  599. but great paper etc.. Just my impressions. Thanks to everyone who gave me

  617.    Yup...the "people" have the final say about the laws.  "Jury
  618. Nullification" comes to  mind. The Jury has the duty to judge both the
  619. facts and the law.  'Twas to
  620.  avoid tyranny as they had in Jolly Old England with the King.
  621.  An example of jusry nullification was during "Prohibition" - those on
  622. trial for
  623.  running liquor were found "not guilty" : Those on the jury refused to
  624. find a guilty verdict as they felt the law was unjust.
  625.   You will not find a court which will tell the jury of their right of
  626. nullification:
  627.  we are supposed to KNOW! what we can and cannot do.  THe court will
  628. tell the jury that
  629.  they "have to follow the judges instructions" and that is a bunch of
  630. horse hockey!
