From: "C & R Fleener" <crfleen@moscow.com>
Subject: RS: Craft supplies grabbags $10
I've just cleaned out my craft cupboard, and discovered a ton of various
supplies. Some of it would be great for collaging or rubber stamping. I
used to teach a kids craft class, and have a whole lot left from that, too.
I have felt (lots of colors and some are textured), colored feathers,
small white gift bags, plastic lanyard,
plastic canvas, small skeins of yarn, lots and lots of beads,
(esp. tri-beads and pony beads and a whole lot of decorative plastic beads
in all sizes), pipe cleaners, pom-poms, slightly used paint markers
(scented!), juice can lids (glue pictures, glitter, whatever onto them, put
a magnet on back and instant gift!) kid's stickers, rhinestones,
construction paper, wallpaper, fluorescent banner paper, crayons (new),
styro bowls for mixing paints and glue, colored chalk (chalkboard size and
sidewalk size), etc, etc, etc. I'm finding more all the time!
I've kept what I need for my kids, and there is still a ton left over. You
can have a priority box stuffed full for $10, shipping included. I will
stuff boxes until it's all gone. Let me know what you want/don't want, and
I'll do my best, but no promises.
Hope to hear from you :)

you must return a card. We could call it the "Global Swap" or something.

bred a monster crop of snails, banana slugs and worse - too bad I don't like

Subject: Re: RS:TAN:pets naming themselves? (very Long)
On a related thread, I sometimes think pets take on the personna or
their name. I got a sweet kitten and named her Ursula for 2 reasons. I
had a black cat named Bear and Ursus is latin for bear. Also a friend
told me one of the meanings of Ursula is "she who is to be obeyed."
Well that sweet little kitten took that meaning to heart and I have
never had such a battle of wills with a cat over everything before. She
would go places she was forbidden to go (ie table and countertops) and
would glare defiantly at me as if to say "Go ahead and move me, I DARE
YOU." If I tried to move her, she would smack me.
We have another cat named Muldore (we spelled it wrong on purpose) and
he is definately spooky. He can get into any room without us having a
clue how he got there. I don't know how many times he has been happily
locked in the pantry with the catfood.
Precats I had 2 cockatiels named Tiamut (chaotic evil goddess from D&D)
and Bahamut (Good dragon god from D&D). Tiamut definately had the more
sour personality of the two.
Lisa (who really wants a Black long haired cat name Kali someday
although I am not sure why)

From: "Christine L. Cox" <christine@coxes.com>
Subject: RS: Soot swap received!
I just love this technique! What beautiful cards!
Thank you, Libby, for hosting. Oh! and thanks for the postoid UM. It just
fell out of your card. Very nice.
Libby (our hostess with the mostest) - In a glassine envy . . . Libby has
been buying paper from Evo or someone else with good, quality products! On
a buff colored cs with strings in it is layered a deckle edge piece of dark
burgundy cs, on this is layered a deckled soot square on which is stamped a
lovely hat related image. Sort of a still life with hats. Very pretty.
Thanks, Libby!
Thea Boschma - On dark brown cs, Thea layered a raffia bow, a layered
rectangle that says "Just a Note" embossed in burgundy, some off white
mulberry and a piece of gold paper.Layered on gray cs is a soot square
stamped with 2 Kokopellis playing flutes and dancing. Kokopelli is one of
my favorite motifs. I love collage cards so this was bound to please! On
the inside Thea attached a piece of white writing paper so that one
wouldn't have to write with a gel pen. A very happy card. Thank you, Thea.
Jean Jones - On off white cs, Jean layered a soot square that has been cut
with fancy scissors. Stamped into the soot is a big rose stamp. Similar to
the PSX botanical but different. This card is neat because Jean didn't lay
down a lot of soot before she stamped so some of the white glossy shows
through. Interesting effect on the light background. Thanks, Jean.
Francine Schooling - In an envy stamped all over with a feather image is a
card on tan cs. Layered on that is a piece of wallpaper with reds and blues
on white. Layered at an angle on that is a soot rectangle, corners cut with
decorative scissors and then stamped into the soot is the same feather that
Francine used on the envy. I like the idea of the coordinated envy and
card. Thank you, Francine.
Staci - A very dramatic card! On white cs are layered a piece of earth tone
shaded exotic paper and then the soot square with a tiger's head stamped
into it. There is a raffia bow on top of the square and the tiger's eyes
are glittered in a pretty teal color. Neat presentation! Thanks, Staci.
Lorraine Fox - A card with a nice note on the inside from Lorraine. It says
she's a newbie of only 3 weeks but I'm sure impressed! Lorraine colored
sections of the glossy cs before laying the soot on. The card is split into
6 sections by the colors. Then she did the fire thing and then stamped a
fraidy cat into each section. The effect is that each cat is a different
color. This is a wowzer! Libby, please tell Lorraine thanks for me.
This was a fun swap, Libby and I do appreciate the UM! Thank you.
Cheers!!!
Christine

Matt rec'd your letter and goodies today. He was very surprised to get a
letter and loved it. He pulled out the stickers very excitedly and also a
stick of gum! Which he promptly put in his mouth. His friend that was here

Pretty good that you can write in cursive! Matt can't yet. There will be a
