Don't know how I got this catalog, but it has all kinds of lace--have to
order five yards, but if sew or for other craft projects, it sounds
ideal, and beautiful laces and other things, including an expanding
sewing gauge that would enable you to evenly mark 8 places at once!

From: Lynette Walters <lynettew@ptialaska.net>
Subject: RS: TAN Rental Properties/Insurance
I would like to talk to others privately who have any experience in
dealing with renting your home, damages to the property, and insurance
coverage.
Just a little background on this - when we moved to Alaska a few years
ago, we put our home in Washington up for rent thru a rental manager.
It has never been empty for any length of time, tho we've had problems
with our manager being trustworthy and giving us notice when it was
going to be vacated. To make a long story short, we are moving back to
Washington in about 2 months, and my dh (who is down there right now)
went to see the house earlier this week. He was totally sickened by all
the damage to the house - holes in walls, the flooring in the kitchen
has been torn up by a dog or some other animal, the bathtub has a crack
(it's cast iron) and leaks, which has also brought up the tile in the
bathroom, broken light fixtures, ruined carpets, etc. A real mess. The
rental manager said that the carpets will be professionally cleaned, and
some of the other depost $ will go towards some other damage, but
recommended us to file an insurance claim for some of the other damage.
Has anyone dealt with this before? Can you give me any advice on how to
deal with this and what we should be aware of? I spoke with our
insurance guy and he has told me he will submit the info to the claims
department, and we'll go from there. I am just so sick about this - we
put so much time, love and effort into this home. It is a really unique
house, a geodesic dome - and we were really proud of it and the yard,
etc. (also found out all the low voltage lighting we installed by the
sidewalks has been ripped out - probably because they didn't want to
take the time to have to use the weedeater instead of just mowing around
it) I would really appreciate any suggestions -
TIA
Lynette

In a message dated 98-03-06 13:59:04 EST, you write:
There were others who sent packages of supplies to the makers also. Postage
was over $3.00 plus the little gift of supplies. It would be nice to at least
view the flinger card. I was so excited about this and it was my first
venture to participate in anything on this list. The fact that 3 of these
packages disappeared was discouraging and did not leave a good impression of
the list members. I will never again participate in a RR.
I would like to say a quick thanks to Linda for trying though and the three
who generously gave of their time and talents to make all these cards. I'm
sorry I did not get to see them.

I was just wondering what the favorite inkpads are. I LOVE to heat emboss, so
most of my pads are pigment, but lately I have really loved playing with my
Kaleidacolor dye pads. I only have Spectrum & Berry Blaze so far- and I will
not be content until I horde them ALL! (a little greed leaked out there,

Anyway, I 'd love to know what other folks like doing with them or their

Lori sent me a card that has a pink "bubbly" background..there are then 2
layers of polka dot paper (purple and pink). On top of this is the stamped
image..a BIG woman (with an itty bitty head) standing on scales..yes,
"scales"..plural. She has one foot on each of the scales. Who makes that
stamp Lori???
On the inside, it says "Tragically, Ida had set her buttmaster on
reverse"...ROFL!! I saw that stamp at the San Mateo show, and I laughed my
head off!!
Thanks so much Lori..this is great!!!

Subject: RS: Paper Pillow Swap rcvd
I just rcvd my Paper Pillow Swap items...this was a really neat swap!!!
From Eileen....A heart shaped paper pillow (very clever Eileen!!!)...the
attached note says it is done on paste paper..cool!!! There is a gorgeous
Midori ribbon at the top, with a neat bead bow. There is a tag attached to
the pillow that says "Friendship is a Work of Heart"....thanks so much
Eileen..you did a wonderful job on this.
From Darlene...A very pretty green square pillow...there are gold embossed
flowers and copper colored stars on the paper...and the pillow is tied with a
gold cord that has a cool bead in the middle. This pillow is VERY elegant!!
Thanks Darlene!!
From ??....I cannot give credit for this one as there is no name on it. This
is a small square pillow made out of awesome gold paper. There are 2 rows of
white pearl beads, and a small green bow in the middle of those. Along the
top and bottom are angels that have been stamped in burgundy. Very
cute..thank you to whomever made it!!
From ???2..Another anonymous person here!! This is a neat little
pillow...done in burgundy tissue paper (I think)...there is a very faint
silver splatter background on one side, and there are gold hearts done in a
square design in the middle. Around the gold hearts is god stitching..very
interesting layout! The back of the pillow has gold hearts stamped randomly.
This is nice..thanks much!!
From Zonia...A very "royal" pillow!! :) This is done on gorgeous light
green mulberry. Zonia has made a criss-cross patterns with a green and rust
ribbon..my gosh, that must have been time consuming!! Within the squares from
the ribbon are silver crowns and gold/rust fleur de lis symbols. This is
awesome Zonia..thanks!!
Thanks to all for the great art here..and thanks to Victoria for hosting..and
for the "thank you" with the pillows!!

Subject: RS: Wonderful Mail from AlphaBecky
I recently responded to a post from AlphaBecky, she had many swap cards and
was willing to share them with newbies. She said she would send to the
first 6 to respond. Well, wouldn't you know I was # 7. She graciously
offered to send me a consolation package. I got it today, and if this is her
idea of a consolation package...............
She is one heck of a WONDERFULLY , UBELIEVABLY GENEROUS
PERSON!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
WOW............If this was a consolation package the first 6 people to
respond are really in for a treat !!!
AlphaBecky Question: Did you do the pin? I love that cat!! Is that one of
Evo's cats, do you know? There wasn't anything on the back and I didn't
find anything floating in the envy to give me any clues.
..........and the little books!!!!! I've seen many posts to the list about
them but these are the first I've seen !!!!
..........and the envelope!!!!!! Now I have to go to the wallpaper stores
in the area for sure !!!!!!
........and every one of the cards are just great!!!
OOOPS........had to take a break, my husband just got home and I wanted to
share my WONDERFUL mail!!!
He looked at everything and even commented that "Those stampers are some
pretty awesome people!" (an understatement for sure) Then he asked if I was
going to share any of these cards with my sister-in-law...NOT (yet anyway).
She's NOT a newbie and she's the one who sparked my interest in
stamping.........besides, she has her own swap cards.
Now, I have to say that my priority list of things to do this weekend has
just been modified.......first priority is to clean off my craft
table......find the cards, stock, stamp pads and other things that I got for
Christmas from my sister-in-law, and DO SOMETHING WITH IT ALL!!!! If I get
anything else done this weekend it will be a miracle (LOL)
I'M READY TO START PLAYING NOW !!!!
To just say Thank You, doesn't quite seem adequate.............hmmmmmm
!?!?!?
For now it will have to do. Thank You so much for being so generous and
sharing these with me. You have made me one very happy stamper-2-B.

From: VOriginals@aol.com
Subject: RS: Used stamps CHEAP!!!
Hi everyone! I am selling a TON of my wood mounted stamps that I have no
more need of... I used to sell Stampin' Up! stamps, and collected quite a
few from them as well as other companies... but now I have my own rubber
stamp company (Victorine Originals) and I don't use my other stamps. So
here's what I have done. I split up all my sets and marked each wood mounted
stamp either $1, $2, $3, $4, or $5 depending on the size. I called all my
friends over and sold a lot of them individully. I still have quite a few
left, so I am going to sell them in grab bags over the internet.
This is Make Your Own Grab Bag style. You tell me how many $1 stamps you
want, $2 stamps, and so on, and I will total it up, and send you a fun mix of
wonderful stamps! Shipping will be $3. No tax, this is a garage sale...
kind of.
For each stamp you purchase you will also receive *2 FREE Hand Stamped
Samples* (not necessarily of the stamps you get... I just have a TON of
stamped samples that I can give away!!)
To order e-mail me at VOriginals@aol.com
OR Horntk@aol.com (The latter address is much less cluttered, so if you
want to make sure I get it, you might want to e-mail Horntk@aol.com)
First come, first serve, and unfortunately, no returns or exchanges. I have
44 $1 stamps, 67 $2 stamps, 85 $3 stamps, 41 $4 stamps, and 19 $5 stamps.
Thanks a TON guys!
Vicki

Subject: RS: ARGH - behind/SWAP
I have one package of swap cards that were sent
to my mother's home so I'll have to get those from
her this weekend. I've been having a cycle of
migraines again - 4 out of 5 days this week. Today's
lasted most of the day even after an imitrex injection,
800 mg ibuprofin, cataflam, and excedrin. ARGH!!!!
I hate this. after all the damn medication then my
stomach starts revolting. I just can't win with these
things.
Anyway - will try to get the gold/white swap in the
mail this weekend and the fabric swap shortly thereafter.
Thanks for being patient. I did receive 2 most packages
of cards this week so I think both swaps are virtually
complete (or as complete as they are going to get anyway).
Thanks
Hugs
Debbie

I just got home from Target and as I was walking the aisles I saw a black
cherry silverware tray for $11.99 (reg. price). I picked it up and held it on
its side and---voila!--a great looking curio shelf unit!! I am going to watch
for a sale on it!! I suppose you could also put a piece of glass over it and
make it into a shadow box. Oh, I also bought some stick-on tile covers
(supposed to go right over "cracked, etc. tiles"). These are 6 to a pack,
thin, self-adhesive (vinyl?--haven't opened them) and come in lots of designs.
I bought one with goldfish. I'm going to try them out on card fronts.

I'm waiting for the ovals to be made so stop that stripping and get busy!
