Subject: RS: TAN: USED PIANO HELP!!!
we are looking for a good condition used piano...we have our eye on one and
are curious about the brand name of it and what we should look for...the
business we are buying it from is a reputable place and this old man that
owns it is 3rd generation in the bus. any info would be appreciated...the
name on the piano is Behning and Son and it's out of New York...the # on it
cross referenced to say it was made between 1911 and 1912...it's mahogany
finished and has the original bench with it...it is a taller piano and has
the original ivory keys on it. i really like the look of the piano and it
sounded really good too...the base sounded great but i have no idea what to
look for and no one i know seems to know this brand name and no one seems
willing to help me out. please, anyone? also, the inside was very neat
and dust free for the most part.
Thanks,

Well, I have several...some I can even repeat here!!
First, I am GoblinAnne. YES, that is one of my Screen Names. So what? Second,
I am RubbrKitty. (see #1) Third, I was just christened "Queen of the Glitter
Goddesses", for I have JUST discovered Glitter!!
Fourth, finally, and MOST IMPORTANTLY: It is NOT Debbie, Debi, Debby, Deb, or
anything similar. It is DEBI-ELLEN. One name, not a first and middle. On RARE
occasions, I WILL allow D-E, but you have to kiss me, first!!! LOL. Just ask

Is everything settled now? Good!!

Subject: RS: Received order from Chris McEwen today!
Just wanted everyone to know how pleased I was with the custom stamp order
I received from Chris McEwen today.
Late last weekend, I had a brainstorm (did ya smell the smoke???) for a
card. I needed a Word stamp to go with it and couldn't find exactly what I
wanted.
Yeah - sometimes I print things out on the computer - but I wanted this one
stamped and embossed nicely! One of the kind listees referred me to Chris
and tonight I'm Stamping with my new stamp! That's how fast the service
was!
Chris was so accomodating and helpful as I talked through my idea. I would
recommend Chris to everyone on the list!
If you have an idea - e-mail him. You too can be stampin' with your own
original stamps! (Mine was a word stamp, but he can work with images too!)

Subject: RS: Need Nickname
First of all I want to thank Dee and Kaye Lynne for volunteering to
undertake this task. It's a major job to maintain a list like that
especially with people dropping off the list and newbies joining the
list. I think they both deserve a standing ovation.
NOW: I need a nickname. I tried to register a name Stampin G (for
stampin grandma) but now I'm not sure about it. A few quick notes about
me: I'm 50 in body and about 20 in the mind, have been married to my DH
for almost 25 years now, have three children 31, 23, and 18, one dog and
a tank full of fish. I love to stamp and am definitely addicted to it.
If anyone wants to suggest anything I'm open to all names (keep it
clean, my mind does travel to the gutter on numerous occassions so no
double meanings cause I'll always take the nasty one). Thanks
Letty

I had some fun with this. I just rubbed a pigment pad over it, dumped on
contrasting powder, shook off the excess and embossed. Between Robin and
I, we had three different weights and colors. The skinny stretchy stuff
worked best. None of it smoked or caught fire. (I do all my embossing,
etc. in my stamp room where my 3 cockatiels live. I figure it's sort of
like taking a canary down into a coal mine. So far they have suffered no
ill effects.)

From: Karen Harris <harris@njcc.com>
Subject: RS: TAN: 50th Birthday Party
Thanks to all who helped with ideas for my husband=92s 50th birthday
party. I ended up having an office party for about 20 people on Thursday
- -sort of to throw him off and to accomodate friends who were going to be
away over Valentine=92s weekend. Then we had about 75 people come out on
Sat. Peter was clueless about both parties up till I called him from the
church on Sat. My rouse was that my car wouldn=92t start and I needed him
to come jump it. I even had a good description of the problem (It just
makes a click, but won=92t turn over.) Unfortunately, my ever-so-practica=
l
honey told me to call AAA! I couldn=92t believe it. I guess I have always
figured AAA was for when you were far from home or if you couldn=92t get
someone you knew to help. Well, I whined that I didn=92t have my card but
he said he would call them from home. I didn=92t want him to do that, so =
I
finally told him that the car was fine and to just come over. So he knew
something was up but not how many people or who.
I did make the video of his baby pictures up till now. The songs I used
for background were:
Birthday - Beatles
Bicycle Race - Queen
If I had a Hammer - Peter Paul and Mary
To Know him is to Love Him - the Teddybears
These were all suggestions from the list. Thanks!
I also started a scrapbook for him of those old pictures. My first
scrapbook. Now, I am really hooked on it. I included a Fun Facts page
made by Phyllis Ingraham with interesting facts from the year he was
born.
One of his favorite presents was an old poster of Einstein on a bicycle
(suggested by Laura!) I used 50=92s confetti donated by Teresa Durn to
decorate a card and package for him.
And Peter received at least one Valentine a day from the Someone Loves
You swap for the whole week before his birthday.
Just wanted to let you all know how much of a part you played in making
this a very special day. (Unfortunately, he is already planning revenge
for my 40th birthday - still 8 years away. He loved the attention - I
will not!)
Thanks!

Hi there:
I really don't know why these things get so out of hand
and hurtful. This should be
a low stress, fun kind of a thing. How about YOU
decide what is best for this little adventure with the
nicknames
and so be it. If people want to get their BP up
and fume about these things so be it. You probably
just full filled a void in their day and did them a favor.
You are surely doing a great job. and appear to be
responsible and care about those around you. If only I
would have that appearance on this list I would be
so happy.

Miracle Tape is a double sided, heat resistant tape that is perfect for
attaching different layers (by just using it as double sided tape),
adding glitz and pizazz (by adding beadz, glitter, or embossing powder),
and adding dimension to your projects (by stamping your image on the
Miracle sheets, then cutting them out and flocking or using 3-D paper,
etc).
Miracle Tape comes in rolls of 36 yards or sheets of 8-1/2 x 11.
3-D Illusion Sheets are not tape, but half-sheets of cool material
that gives your stamped products a 3-D effect.
I personally use Miracle Tape for almost all my taping needs. I love
the stuff!

Just so you know this is no flame!!
When I joined the list I already had the screen name StamperCat. I didn't
want to change it and there was another lady on the list at the time
called StamperKat with a *K*. We were confused for each other for a while
but she is the ever loved Neuteress of the Night. We corresponded about
the name and it was decided that I could use that nickname too. No
problems!
There can be more that one person with the SAME nickname! It just needs
to be worked out between the ones that share a name. No Problem!

From: Melanie Allen <allen@siva.usc.edu>
Subject: Re: RS: RE: Best L.A. Stamping store
I live in the area and I'd say that the best Los Angeles stamp store is not in Los
Angeles but in West Hills. It's called the West Hills Rubber Stamp Shoppe at
8230 Fallbrook Ave, West Hills CA 91304 phone is 818 710-1551. They are really
nice there and have lots of great stuff: stamps, paper, magazines, sealing wax,
and tons of supplies. It's about a half hour north of Los Angeles up the 101.
I'm sure if you call you can get much better directions than I can give you. They
also teach classes there so maybe your friend will get lucky and find a really
good class. At any rate I think it is worth the trip
As for the other stores I saw mentioned:
Stamp Stamp Stamp in Santa Monica is really just a very large closet. I get
claustrophobia every time I go in there, the people are not friendly, and they
never have anything I'm looking for. I can't say that I'd recommend this store.
Pearls - this is a great store for all kinds of art supplies and has an isle or
two of stamps. But if your friend is near it by all means do go. The second
floor is filled with craft stuff and they also have the best price on Tria markers
in the city.
B. A. Stamper - isn't really worth the trip. Their selection of rubber stamps is
quite limited and no great deals can be found there.
If your friend doesn't mind traveling 45 minutes or so there is another stamp shop
in Thousand Oaks (about another 15 minutes north on the 101 from the West Hills
store) called The Paper Post. As the name implies it has lot of great paper and
also lots of great stamps. When the weather is nice and I feel like a drive, this
is usually where my car takes me. It's a lot like the West Hills Rubber Stamp
Shoppe in that it carries a wide selection of things but it has far more paper.
The address is 1145 Lindero Canyon Road, Suite c-1, Thousand Oaks, CA 91362 phone
number is 818 865-0702. It got written up in the Quest section of Somerset a few
months back. Oh, and they also teach classes there too.
Now if your friend has an whole day that she doesn't know what to do with she
could go all the way up the 101 to Santa Barbara (about 2 hours north of the city)
and make the pilgrimage to Stampa Barbara. Though the first time I went there it
was a bit overwelming...so perhaps she should not venture there all by herself.
She may just pass out from the sight of all those stamps. <<grin>>
If I were going to recommend just one store it would be the West Hills Rubber
Stamp Shoppe. It's not so big that it's overwhelming but big enough to have a
good selection of stamps and other supplies too.
