Yes, I haven't been a regular poster, but I'm going to be signing
off the big list in a couple of weeks as I've just gotten a new job at
Microsoft doing software testing, and therefore will be leaving my current
job at the ISP where I received all this rubber mail. I just won't have
the time to keep up with it. I'll be subscribed for another couple of
weeks, but after that I'll be out of here. It's been a great 18 months,

I've ordered from Stampo three times, without problems.
I've received approximately $600 worth of goods for approximately $250 cost
(and no sales tax). Many, many of his prices were less than posted "sale"
prices. In my "stampalogically deprived" location, Stampo's sales and service
were a Big Plus.

Subject: RS: storage for EP's: Creative ideas needed
the pill bottles would be great storage for extra EP's but for
usage, i have those plastic parts cases with the long pull out drawers.
the folded card can be held directly over the drawer and the ep
spooned over and right back into the drawer, making far less handling of
ep and clean up.
i put less of the metallic ep's in the drawer because i've heard that
when exposed to air, they get dull.

I color on glossy with Marvy LePlumes and ZIG pigment pens. I found that
it's easier to color on it if you emboss first. You're less likely to have
the marker slip on the coating and go outside the lines.

Subject: RS: Announcing Australian Adoption
Fellow stampers,
I heard the saddest thing in Evo's chat room the other night. We were
talking about the best way to arrange ums and how long it takes to organize
our stamp supplies. Jenny Neary said it would take about 5 minutes to
arrange her very small collection. I don't think anyone should be able to
say that!
I got to thinking about her later that night. I have talked to both
Jenny and Daisy about the lack of stamping supplies in Australia. Can you
imagine not being able to go to a stamp store and pick up a new stamp or
having to pay the kinds of prices they have to pay for supplies? I think if
we did we would all be able to arrange our supplies in about 5 minutes time.
So Elaine, you now have a sister! Welcome to the family Jenny.

Subject: RS: TAN: DH, 911, and Diabetes
I had to call 911 for my DH last night, and had a really stressful time,
and am still trying to calm down after the adrenaline surge. I'm hoping
writing this will be that kind of therapy, and the people on this list have
always been so understanding. I'm also hoping that this note reinforces
the need to keep on top of your diabetes if you have it.
My DH is insulin dependent diabetic. He is normally in very good control
of it, but does tend to have more low blood-sugar problems than high. He
sometimes pushes "control" to its limits. Yesterday her took the wrong
kind of insulin at the wrong time, and it peaked in the middle of the
night, and he had an insulin reaction (commonly known as insulin shock).
He had a huge seizure, and afterward it was like he was in a waking coma.
His eyes were open, he could talk, but not logically or about anything that
was happening. He couldn't take directions or follow conversation. Think
sleepwalker and you're pretty close, only worse. I called 911 while he was
having the seizure, and it lasted a long time. There was no way I could
control him, or get him to take his glucose. My SIL happened to be in town
visiting, and she came over while we went to the hospital, and stayed with
the kids, who thankfully never woke up during this whole thing. That is
amazing as we had 3 EMT's and 2 deputies tromping through my house. It was
awful.
My husband is reasonably healthy with little to none of the common diabetic
side effects, so this was a shock to us. If you have diabetes, please take
good care of yourself. Test your blood regularly (had he done this before
he went to bed, this whole mess could have been avoided). And take the
right kind of insulin at the right time, don't use a different type than
you're supposed to. DH was out of the regular, so took a little of the
other kind (NPH?) to get him through the day until he could get more
regular. Bad mistake. I just hope someone can learn from this. I know we
have. Thankfully, he seems to be better now. I'm glad he wasn't alone
when it happened.
Thanks for listening
Rosemary

Subject: RS: Saturday WOW What a Mail Day
Saturday was one of the best and one of the worst mail days in a long
time. First the bad day...got a postcard at 4:00 p.m. from the Disney
Online Catalog that the Pooh Gram I had ordered for DH for Valentine's
Day was no longer available. No gift for DH, I was miserable...BUTTTTTT
WAIT....What's that I see, pkgs and envelopes for me..Things started to
look a whole lot better very quickly.
I received my 3D vinyl from Evo..Now I need to find the hostess of the
swap but first I have to play with it. Thank you Evo for such
wonderful, quick service..and then I spy another envelope GIGGLES
Cookbook. Yummy, I wasn't a dessert baker until I got that book and now
I guess I'm a dessert baker and definitely dessert eater. And then
there it is the box from my Valentines one time only SSS swap (see next
post for details)
See ya.
Love and hugs,
Letty

Applause, applause!!! A standing ovation to Jody, Phil, Evo, Sheryl, &
all the recipe donators for this remarkable cookbook!
To borrow a phrase from another fundraiser (VBG) this is indeed an
amazing labor of love! The dedication page pretty much says what I feel
in my heart about our Giggles, and I hope lots of money is going to her
from the sale of this!
I feel honored to have participated and am very grateful I did!
Thank-you again all you warm, loving, generous, extremely special
people!!! You are wonderful and remember - what goes around, comes
around! I hope it comes around big time for each of you!!
Love & hugs
Terri
P.S. Phil - Thanks very much for the templates! I haven't tried them
yet, but they look like fun! You're a sweetheart!!!

Subject: RS: One Time Only Valentine's Day SSS Swap Received.
Hi: Wow what fun this was going through the box and the separate envy
from Heather (sorry I don't have your e-mail so I could thank you
personally). First she sent me an envelope filled with wonderful
Valentine's Day Tissue Paper and lots of card stock in some very pretty
Valentine's Day and Spring Colors. Wow, I love that paper. And now to
the box....First there is the wonderful large heart shaped clear red
plastic box stuffed with all kinds of goodies, plus some more goodies
all around the plastic box. Lets see, there's a beautiful rose heart
wreath mounted stamp from Rubber Stampede, an I love you mounted from
Art Impressions, A box of Sweetheart Stamps from All Night Media, A
Heart Background mounted stamp from Rubber Stampede. All the stamps
were wrapped in pink with white polka dots tissue paper and then we have
two plastic Valentine's Bags filled with goodies. The first is filled
with all kinds of embellishments..there's ribbon in red, white and pink,
satin roses in mauve and some Valentine's Charms and in the other bag
are goodies to eat, some pretzels coated with white chocolate. Yummy,
Thank you so much Heather for the wonderful gifts. Oh wait, she also
sent two Valentine's day cards very very pretty Valentine's day cards, I
might add.
Thank you again.
Love and Hugs, Letty

Subject: RS: Charlie: Your Postoid Order
Charlie,
I received your payment today, thank you. I read your "likes"
on the RS Snailmail list and saw you like Victorian... that
made me smile. I've been doing a lot of research on my family
history for the last few years and have a developed a passion
for old letters and photos. I just this moment finished making
your little organizer book and it certainly says, "Victorian."
I hope you like it as I am pretty darned pleased with it! :)
Not only will it keep your postoids all together, it almost
begs to be displayed on a small stand on a bookshelf. (BTW, the
little earrings are heart-shaped Czech crystals, which you can
remove from the bookcover and wear, unless you're sensitive to
the faux gold wires.) Guess I've got your curiousity in full
swing now, huh? :) Thanks for giving me the opportunity to share
some collage creativity with you! Your book and postoids will
go into tomorrow's mail, let me know that your order arrives okay.
Get ready to smile!!!

From: Tim & Ally Smith <timotsc@vision.net.au>
Subject: RS: Aussie Stampers wanting to get RAKed!!!
Hi fellow Aussie Stampers
LIke me you may have been reading all the wonderful raking that's been
going on, on the lists; but can't play cause of the cost of Overseas
postage! Well no longer will this happen! Yes that's right I'm organising
a RAK list for us Aussie Stampers.
Basically what the deal is -
* You email me with your name address, birthday (year optional) - family
dates/wedding anniversary, etc (basically any dates that are important to
you - and you'd like to be remembered on).
* I complie a list - which I hope will grow regularly and I email this
list to you.(as new people come along they will get added to the list)
* Then when the urge to make cards comes upon you - just make a couple
extra for people on the RAK list.
* The idea being it's better to give than too recieve.
If you want some ideas just read what other people are sending as RAKes
from the mailing lists or email me for ideas - it's not just cards, but
also paper or other goodies - really up to you.
And what do you get out of it - well besides having more reasons to stamp
more cards (and therefore buy more stamps! LOL!!!); cause your name will
be on the list someone else will probably be sending a RAK to you - more
mail - now don't we love this one!
I can't see the need for rules and regs with this one - though there would
be an expectation that you send off atleast 1 card per month to someone on
the list and that you email the mailing lists (or me if that's easier) -
letting your RAKer know you've received it ok.
And the name to avoid confusion....Aussie RAK
Looking forward to recieving your names and address...Or feel free to ask
me questions or give some ideas...

Subject: RS: 2 Fabulous RAKers...Carole and Paula!!!!
Wow! My mail today was great, but it went to absolutely wonderful when I saw
these great cards (with goodies!!) from these 2 kind ladies!!
From Paula Panart: This is a gorgeous card!! Is this the shelf liner
technique that was just discussed??? And what is underneath? I cannot begin
to describe this card, but I will try! It has a butterfly embossed in white
on clear shelf liner (?), layered over a beautiful tapestry-like background
(wrapping paper, perhaps?). This background has a few small butterflies
stamped in white. Paula used scallop scissors on the edge, with a gold edge
under that. There is a gold cord tied around the card! Inside is the saying
"Reach for the Moon and you'll always land among the Stars" I love that
saying!!!!! Please tell me who makes that stamp! Then Paula wrote a
beautiful sentiment and to top it all off she included a package of Class A'
Peels stickers! I also love the RAK stamp on the envy!!!
From Carole Mork: This card was gorgeous, too!!!! I loved the
composition/layout!! She sent this in a clear envy and I just love this, b/c
it gives all the postal employees along the way a little sunshine as well!!
Carole started with pink CS and in the upper left portion of the card there is
a strip of pink striped wallpaper with a heart cut out. "Just for you" is
stamped in glittery green EP inside this cutout heart. On the lower right
portion of the card is "thinking of you" stamped on vellum in that same
glittery green EP, and then fancy cut with scissors. This is then layered
onto green mulberry paper! There are touches of glitter all over this card.
Inside she stamped "hope you feel better soon" and she wrote a message hoping
I was no longer pouting!! (about my lack of packages from my SS last round).
Carole included a little calendar with a magnetic back, and a RubberStamp
Friendship Book that I will fill out and pass on!!
Ladies, you have made my heart smile!!!! Thank you for sending your beautiful
cards, well wishes, and the gifts!!! You are fabulous!!!!!!
Smiles to each of you,
Tricia = )
