Personally,
I think it's just as easy to write CCCC as to reach over and find the
stamp then pick the color of ink I want to use. I made my own postoids
for mine which you will see next time I send out cards. Just my two
cents on having a stamp or postoid made for the CCCC. Not that I want
to put any one out of making any money off of us, so please don't flame
me. <LOL>

7 Dual Purpose Clear Acrylic Templates... 1/8" thick...geometrically
designed to give you perfect layers in 1/4" increments for your 5 1/2"
x 4 1/4" cards. Largest template is 5 1/2" x 4 1/4"... Use this
one to tear or cut out perfect post cards every time. Or to cover
and protect your working model as you create more cards.
Beautiful templates... beveled on one side for a reason.
Use them on the flat edges... tear or cut your layers. The
Olga hand-held rotary cutter or exacto knife works beautifully
with these. Flip them over onto the beveled edges... draw perfect
rectangles with your ink pens or markers for graduated
borders. No bleeding of ink under your template, thanks to
the beveled edges.

This has nothing to do with anything, but MicroCenter is a Columbus, OH

the newest Columbus store. I just thought that was funny. They do a
good job, even here in Columbus, where they're so dominant that they
don't have to. It's a good, reliable, company.

Subject: RS: FEB SSS PKG ARRIVED
Wow!! My February package arrived and I want to let everyone know what I
got:
3 chupa chups suckers that my girls claimed, two beautiful stamped
cards,
one bookmark with three different hearts on it, a box of Brachs
chocolate covered almonds, a packet of purple card stock with envelopes,
sample and instructions on how to make paper "chocolates", the paper,
liquid applique, and the wood mounted stamp to make the chocolates with,
black embossing powder, woven tapestry embossing powder and tea pot and
cup confetti.
Most of my surprises were in either red or white tissue paper and were
tied shut with gold cording.
SSS I thank you for the great package. I am going to have fun making the
paper chocolates. I really loved everything you put into my package. I
could tell a lot of time and care were put into it. I thank you again.
You also asked my if there was anything specific I really wanted. In
answer to your question, no---each of your packages have been absolutely
wonderful. If you have more wonderful ideas on different cards to
create that you would like to show me how to do, I would like that.

I hope your kindness is returned tenfold !
My only regret is that I couldn't see everyone's cards. If the ones I got
are any indication, I know they were all wonderful! I know I got some
ideas and have used some of them already!
My first card was from Satampenpal (Carol). She made an inviting
livingroom scene on a postcard. Her room started with a lovely potted
plant and an area rug. On top of that she layered a blue sofa and
colorful throw pillows. Next to the sofa she layerd a tall floor lamp.
Her greeting said "Have a wonderful day".(Delafield stamp - who sells
them?) The card was expertly colored with Prismacolor pencils. I really
liked the composition. It gave me some ideas for a new stamp I have
Thanks Carolyn!
Next was a sweet card from Rubberheart (Paula). Paula started with white
CS cut with fancy scissors (Paula - which ones did you use?) On top she
layerd some beautiful blue eyelet lace paper and attached a cutout angel
with foam tape. Very cute. Paula made a very pretty envelop with some
gorgeous rainbow colored paper. She decorated her envy with a gold
embossed butterfly border - colored to complement the rainbow paper. Loved
the way the butterflies sparkled! Nice job! I really loved the stamp she
used on the flap of the envy. It said: " Enclosed is a Handmade Card. As
such it deserves a place of honor in your home and should not be casually
discarded like an ordinary store bought card." Paula, I've already checked
out where to buy this - it's on my "need to acquire " list!
Last, but certainly not least was a very dramatic card from Amymisha (Amy).
Amy - you have inspired me! Amy's card started with a very nice piece of
cream colored CS with a nice satin finish to it. Next, Amy layered
another piece of CS which was so cool.
She took a piece of white CS and sponged it with shades of brown - such
nice work - looks like leather (I thought it was leather when I first
looked at the card!). On top of the sponged brown, Amy added several
streaks of Gold EP. On top of this she stamped images of petroglyphs
(cave-wall drawings - sorry my descriptions don't do this justice) They are
stamped in black or dark browns and embossed with clear EP. The envy is
simply stamped with a couple of matching petroglyphs. Amy thinks this card
was
too plain but I disagree! It was very striking! I really liked it!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Valentines Day. Keep Stampin' and see you
out there on the list!

From: "Maureen Butcher" <rinski@ap.net>
Subject: Re: RS: Stamping on tiles and porcelain.
Hi Lynette and all,
I took a class on this and we made trivits out of gardening tiles that you
find at a nursery or landscape store. They are heat set so you can use
them as hot pads. You can use this technique on clay pots for planting and
for dishes. They are dishwasher safe and can be used in the microwave as
long as you don't use the metallics.
1. First clean off your item. For clay pots just wipe them off. For glazed
surfaces, wipe thoroughly with alcohol. Make sure your item is dry before
starting.
2. We used Pebeo's Porcelain 150 as ink. Transfer some paint into a dabber
bottle (like Bingo dabbers). Ink your stamp with the dabber and stamp. It
will come off again if you make a mistake as long as it hasn't been baked
although it's harder to get off porous items. Let the image dry for about
15 min. before you color the inside.
3. Using Qtips or a paint brush, color the inside of your image.
4. After letting the item set for 24 hours. Put item in cold oven and set
for 300-325 degrees. When the temperature is reached, bake for 35 minutes.
Turn off oven and cool in the oven.
Baking too long or at increased temperature will brown the colors.
Microwave ovens can't be used for baking.
This info. is from Num Nums guide to stamping with porcelain.
Always stamping,
Maureen

Subject: RS:Newbie Swap received!
I got my newbie swap cards the other day, but haven't been home long
enough to post about them! Thank you to Germaine and all of the vendors
who contributed!! It was such a surprise to see so much great stuff! : )
When I get my tax returns I will definately be ordering from some of
you!!!
Onto the cards...
From Daine Aiken (Twin202@juno.com) I got a lovely card. She says she is
her own worst critic...she shouldn't be!! I liked it!! It is a purple
card, glossy cs, with "Happy Anniversary" stamped and embossed in gold
on the cover. Their is a circle cut out of it with a gold embossed roses
stamp on vellum underneath. This is really neat velum...it has flowers
on it! On the inside is stamped "Wishing youmuch happiness on this
special day", embossed in gold.
From Paula (Rubberheart), I got a cutie card of an angel. It is on white
card stock, the edges have been scalloped. There is a layer of lacy
yellow crepe paper on top and pretty holographic shimmers in a wavy
pattern on it. The angel is a honey!!!! She is mounted on foam tape, so
she floats above the card a bit. Inside it says "Never go faster than
your gaurdian angel can fly". : ) I love the envelope that came with
it!!!!
And finally, a super card by Terri & Toni Tosh! It is a white linen like

Not the hand made ones. I know those are your treasures. The ones I

old old store bought ones. The older the better. Let me know what you
have.

Personally,
I think it's just as easy to write CCCC as to reach over and find the
stamp then pick the color of ink I want to use. I made my own postoids
for mine which you will see next time I send out cards. Just my two
cents on having a stamp or postoid made for the CCCC. Not that I want
to put any one out of making any money off of us, so please don't flame
me. <LOL>

I can attach a photo of an antique handed down to me thru my father....
The little painting is on a steel box, PUT IN A WIDE FRAME used to hide
valuables!! This could easily be done using altoid boxes....
I emailed back to who I thought wrote the creative idea on the list, and she
said she would rather carve a hole in her sheetrock and use a dummy socket for
her valuables...I personally think she has no understanding of antiques and
she showed me her ignorance! kathie

Yeah, lighten up! :-)
One time, my wife and I went to a local store's monthly swap club, and we
had been told to make 20 or so. Like the naive little bozo I was, I
thought I was going to do my best work ever! So, the night before I was
giving myself wrist cramps working a blitzer and drying out my pens making
the 20 cards.
NEVER AGAIN!
And in the end, not that many people were impressed (surprised?).
Thank heaven for the list swaps! You make five for the swap, a sixth for
the host, and one for your files. Boom. Yer dun.
Hey, BTW, speaking of swaps, do you (Mars) want in on the newest surreal
swap? Sure like to have you play!

Here in SLC, we've been lucky to have a program with members of Ballet West
and someone from a New York ballet company come out and teach our kids
regularly. It's been pretty impressive to see. It was cool because they
had mostly men teaching the classes, and many of the moves are more
"masculine", so the guys didn't have any trouble at all diving right in.
They're practicing two or three nights a week right now. It's a great
program.
