From: Jennifer <goodgolly@rocketmail.com>
Subject: RS: Recieved STAMPIN' UP! Valentines Swap
Well, some beatiful cards showed up in my mailbox today! I got the SU
Valentines swap, and they are all lovely!
From
Laurel McKinley a burgundy postcard, cut with deckled edges and gold
embossed on the edge with the "I love you mini" heart embossed in gold
4 times and the words I Love You from the same set also gold embossed.
The card was finished off with a pretty gold bow in the corner. It
was my DH's favorite!
Winabeth A big bold red heart is cut out and mounted on white
cardstock with a cute little heart embossed in gold with a nice charm
placed in the center of the heart all tied up with a red bow. I love
this one! Red is my favorite color!
Lisa-Marie Irvine send a really cute card, too. she just used 3-d tape
to mount a bunch of hearts all over white cardstock. Each heart had a
little valentind message on it. Looked good enough to eat!
Sarah West On white cardstock, sarah stamped in purple hearts all
over in a random design and in the center she stamped it darker and
put glitter on it and a tiny purple bow. She cut the edges with
deckled scissors and mounted it on a purple card. Really nice!
ANd from Cindy Piet: Cindy you did a really great job on this card
and I'm afraid that I can't really explain how you did this but it
really is a work of art! The card opens in the center and has a
heart cutout in the middle, but when you open it it is a cut out on
either side. That description doesn't actually do the card justice,
but just know that I really loved it!
Thanks so much to RUbberducky for hosting this swap, and to everyone
for playing. It was fun
And if you were wondering which cards I made, mine were the *oops*
anonomous ones...I forgot to put my name and email on them. If anyone
of you recieved one from me will you let me know. I've been ubsubbed
for about a week or so...miss you all!

Subject: RS: Valentine Collage Swap Came
Thanks Clarice for hosting this--love these cards. My DH even made
comments!
Becci--wow! I love purple and this is on purple cs w pretty cut corners.
Glitter on cs,over this is a purply, glittery mesh that's probably same
place mat I almost bought for background--now definitely will go back.
Whatever DID you do to make it so gorgeous!!!! Over that is piece of
tourquoise mesh ribbon at angle, almost verticle is a pice of fuschia
metallic ribbon (Where'd you get this, Becci--I want this, too) On top
of that and to right is textured black paper with purple on it (again,
HOW?) and gold beedz. On very top in center is a heart from patterned
paper. My DH and DS think this is beautiful, too.
CindyMcVay--red duplex cs with lovely things on it--heart doily, ribbon
w/hearts printed, two cancelled stamps, a darling postoid-looking stamp
embossed in white. Hearts out of red foil, someother red plastic stuff,
gold foil, puffy satin, and a stamped scribble heart with wonderful red
tinsel embossing. Inside are two hearts--red foil embossed one, pin dot
one, and Be My Valentine stamped on white w/red pin dot paper. What a
fun Valentine's card!!
Cille Lacy--beautiful heart stamp in red embossing on white cs with
scalloped edges, with red ribbon at top and red jewel at top left.
Mounted on red cs with piece of doily underneath. Inside is Be My
Valentine
Ann-onymous--Bright pink cs postcard in clear envy. On top of pink is
red textured cs with glittler on it, nicely frayed mulberry in white with
lg. red glossy heart over that with heart embossed on that. To right top
is pretty heart charm with tiny Midori ribbon. To left is handmade
postoid with stamp of a stamp on it. Over heart is Swoon embossed in
gold foil on pink with gold on edges. and red bow. under heart to lower
r. another piece of pink with tiny key charm on.
Barbara Graves--Lots of pizzazz on this white glossy cs. Little red
scribble hearts stamped in red randomly, also placed on randomly are a
pink feather, confetti, silver and holographic hearts, lots of red,
white, and mesh ribbon bows, holographic paper on edges. Two laminated
pieces also on this--are these stamped or printed. Really a fun card
DH says I have a bunch of nice cards to send out--yea, sure--I want to
keep them all!
Thanks everyone, Eileen

Ream: 1. a standard quantity of paper, consisting of 20 quires or 500
sheets (formerly 480 sheets), or 516 sheets. (Webster's College
Dictionary)
CS packages usually contain 1/2 ream or 250 sheets.
Non-professionals often mis-use the term ream as being the same as
package. I had a print-shop clerk do it yesterday ... the propietor and
I knew the difference, the part-time help didn't have a clue.

From: SingNStamp@aol.com
Subject: RS: TAN:Joke: THE GATES OF HELL!
Bill Gates dies in a car accident. He finds himself being sized up by
God...
"Well, Bill, I'm really confused on this call; I'm not sure whether to send
you to Heaven or Hell. After all, you enormously helped society by putting a
computer in almost every home in America, yet you also created that ghastly
Windows '95. I'm going to do something I've never done before. I'm going to
let you decide where you want to go."
Bill replied, "Well, what's the difference between the two?"
God said, "I'm willing to let you visit both places briefly, to see if it
will help your decision."
"Fine, but where should I go first?"
"I'll leave that up to you."
"Okay then," said Bill, "let's try Hell first."
So Bill went to Hell. It was a beautiful, clean, sandy beach with clear
waters and lots of beautiful women running around, playing in the water,
laughing and frolicking about. The sun was shining; the temperature perfect.
He was very pleased. "This is great", he told God. "If this is Hell, I
really want to see Heaven." "Fine," said God, and off they went.
Heaven was a place high in the clouds, with angels drifting about, playing
harps and singing. It was nice, but not as enticing as Hell.
Bill thought for a quick minute, and rendered his decision."Hmmm. I think
I'd prefer Hell," he told God. "Fine," retorted God, "as you desire." So Bill
Gates went to Hell.
Two weeks later, God decided to check on the late billionaire to see how he
was doing in Hell. When he got there, he found Bill, shackled to a wall
screaming amongst hot flames in dark caves, being burned and tortured by
demons.
"How's everything going?" he asked Bill.
Bill responded with his voice filled with anguish and disappointment, "This
is awful. This is nothing like the Hell I visited two weeks ago. I can't
believe this is happening. What happened to that other place, with the
beaches and the beautiful women playing in the water????"
"Oh," God said, "that was Hell 3.1."
THIS IS HELL 95!

Subject: Re: RS: TAN:Format My final Tan on this: list message volumn--long
Since I feel that I started a lot of this tan, I''ll let you know the
reason. I use webtv and it limits my capacity to 150 messages. I have
been reading 3 times a day and it takes 2 hours each time. I was
politely told if I couldn't handle it , get off the list. I was also
told that if I had choosen to use such a cheap machine I would have to
live with it. Am still waiting to respond to this person. It took me
three months to decide if I could afford the webtv subscription fee. I
live on $930. a month and my living expenses take up all but $200.
That's the true expenses. I alot $100. for groceries. The last $100.
is "discresinary" (no spell check.) I may go without deoderant and
shampoo, but I get my stamping stuff in every month. A friend was kind
enought to loan me this wonderful machine, I pay the cost of the
service, and it comes out of that $100. I did it so I could be on this
list that my good friends are on and have told me so much about. They
have enrolled me in swaps, and I felt bad when I could never thank other
participants----and to all of those who have followed me this far, and
do remember doing swaps with me, your cards have all been much
cherished, and shown off. They are safely and carefully stored, and
ultimately I intend to mat and mount by swap, and display. Mail art is
just that and it deserves to be treated as such. I started to write my
thank yous in long hand and mail them to my friend to post to the list,
but she said she needed the E- mail addys, and I went "What's that?"
Which brings me full circle. My friend had to come over and enroll me
on the list 'cause I couldn't find my way in. Pretty much I just find
something green and click on it. I haven't been able to learn much or
explore,' cause I've been tending to the list--my priority. When I
asked if some people would send their interpersonal mail privately I
thought everyone's " computer " worked the same as mine--that the
address of the person you are responding to automatically became the
addressee, apparently not true. As to the delete key, if I go messageby
message and delete as soon as I see the topic line, I can usually read
most of the message before it deletes. But here is the end of my
involvement in this tan, and my conclusion. Hence forth I will delete
by listing incoming messages, checking them off and when I am really
tied up I will figure out how to unsubscribe, and do so, and do it soon
'cause I got a lot of swaps to work on. That's it, carry on, And to all
you elitist out there; I still believe in our democratic system. If
that doesn' t reach you try this: I doubt that any of you are spending
anywhere near the % of your income to be on this list that I am.

Subject: Re: RS: RS Ideas to use with your cobwebs
Hi everyone! This is too funny...except, for years we have made cobweb
prints with the kids... Go find a nice fresh spider web, and take a sheet
of dark cardstock, hold it behing the web, then bring it forward so the
web is now on the paper. Sprinkle with flour. spray with a fixative
spray. Now, I am wondering, how about using EP instead of flour, and
wouldn't that be a gorgeous exotic paper?? We have no spiders yet (too
chilly) but maybe in the warmer climate someone would want to try this??
And let us know the results??

Poor Sis! Trade ya...I always wanted bigger eyes!! Anyway, the
Playboy Magazine came out with a cartoon character called "Little Annie

with that moniker. Not fun! Not sure if it was better than "Annie
Bananie Nose" (my Mom's love name for her kid with the pigsnout turned up
nose!).

Wellllll, you could paint the top and/or decorate it with buttons, etc., and
fill it up with your own postoids samples and send it out as a RAK...

paint with matte finish paint and then stamp on 'em.
or embellish with collage ... glue stick works great with torn bits of
paper
put peel'n'stick labels on 'em and use 'em for rabbit-resistant storage

Subject: RS: Review of video Tape
HI All
I bought a tape that Betsy the RCL had for sale. It is my first Video.
This one is vol 3 from USArtQuest on Special Effects for Mixed-Media. I
didn't have any tapes and after reading Betsy's write up I decided to
give this one a try. All I can say is WOW! Oh seriously, this tape is
really great. It covers several techniques and gave me some wonderful
ideas for use of several products (which I've just ordered from RCL).
Demonstrations include paper and paper adhesive using products shch as
Perfect fx-flakes, grandules and embossing tiles, UTEE, Pearl Ex, and
papers. She shows some great ideas for collage, layering, using the
UTEE etc. She shows paper making both with a Grummel and casting. She
shows some flower pressing. her assemblage is just wonderful. I really
recommend this one!
Thank You Betsy for the "push" which got me to order this tape - it has
sure got me going to start doing more with my stuff. Now I'm really
going to be saving my bits and pieces of fancy papers!!

I can't wait. I'm going to see it tonight for the first time!!! Did you
catch the special on TV last night? I was crying from the movie clips!!!
There was one that got me particularly. There was a clip of an adult
tucking his/her children to sleep and it looked like the 3rd class
section. I'd better bring lots of kleenex.

Subject: RS: Very unexpected Valentine gift
I just received the most unexpected Valentine gift from my DH. We don't
usually give gifts on Valentine's day because our annivesary is the 18th(that
is our Valentine's day). Today when I got up to get ready for work there were
two packages on the kitchen table. Sitting on the table was a round brown box
with hearts hand drawn all over it. Inside it was a rollagraph stamp with
chocolate candies on it. The kind that you get in candy boxes. This is not
unusal because he has bought stamps before. I thought the candy theme of the
rollagraph was cute. You know, candy for Valentine's day. On top of the second
box was a card that was turned upside down. When I turned it over it was a
card he made using the rollagraph. That was very unexpected. He had never
stamped before. I almost cried. I thought he loves me enough to not only buy
me stamps but to try stamping too. He is so sweet. When I spoke to him about
stamping he said he actually thought the rollagraph was fun. I jokingly said,
maybe you'll start stamping with me. He said he'd like to try sometime. It's
too bad I have to work today. I could have had a stamping party with my hubby.
That would be so much fun.
I just had to share the excitement. This is better than getting roses.
Carol
BTW- the other box was a box of Jelly Belly variety box.
