Subject: RS: COMM: VLVS! Web Page
I understand that there are some people dissatisfied with how long it takes
my Web Page to load... not wishing to sound elitist but there are plenty of
pages out there that load FAST but there's not much on them when they load.
I admit that I've gone WAY OVERBOARD in tinkering with this page but my hope
is that your patience will be rewarded by the enjoyment you will get out of
the page with the animation and music.
If you're not interested in animation and music, it's VERY simple to just go
into your Browser's Options and disable animation and graphics and music so
all you get is text and them my page will load lickety split! You might
want to do this if you're viewing the page from work and don't want the
music giving you away.
I've also added frames to the page so that you can quickly go to the area
you want to get to without waiting for a particular page to fully load...
but I hope that you WILL find the time to let the pages load and explore the
craziness that is my mind. I sneak off to tinker with the page when I'm
exhausted from doing "work" and it's my creative outlet these days.
Obviously, I subscribe to the notion that nothing exceeds like excess.
Last night, I added a Meditation Chapel for those who are exhausted from the
frenetic pace of the showgirls and the leaping stuff all over my page... so
if you get worn out, you can always just retreat to the Meditation Chapel
for a brief respite... it's under Wedding Chapels, where else? I've put up
a bit more Mail Art in the Gallery as well and hope to get lots more scanned
and up this weekend... it's been great to get stuff for the Gallery in the
mail... your name may be in lights one day too! I've done a bit of
renovating to the Church of Spam.
Some people reported not being able to get past Page Three in the Last Call
sale... I tried the link this morning and it worked fine... not sure what
the problem is but it occurs to me as I write this that if anyone has a
problem in the future, you might refresh your page three and see if that
helps... if not, please let me know and I'll try to figure out what could
possibly be going wrong with the link.
Finally, thanks to all who understood my predicament with the lost e-mails
and so graciously resent their orders. I had a computer expert try to
recover the lost Juno mail but no chance. He did find a whole whack of
voice mail messages in a file I didn't know existed so I'm slowly working my
way through them as well.
Oh, and I STILL haven't found time to get Upgrades 9.1 and 2.4 to the
printer but hopefully will get them in the mail to subscribers next week...
I've been trying to find time to upload both catalogs in full to the Web
Page as well.

From: DJKnapp520@aol.com
Subject: RS: One Stamp Swap Received
Wow what a BIG swap! Thanks to Lisa Wynn for doing such a great job with
this one!
Carol Nimmer - Dark blue cs stamped with gold and silver musical notes, inside
is sheet music type paper these are held together with metalic cording. Nice
Charley Faust - White cs stamped and embossed mauve flowers. More flowers
have been crystal laquered and layered on top of the embossed ones. The
flowers
are then embellised in the centers with the itty bitty gold beads. Very nice.
Tara Gibbons - Off white speckled cs stamped and embossed with mauve, green,
and red hands. The card is then edged in the same colors inside and out.
Cute
Barbara Tew - White oval window tri fold card. The oval is outlined in dots
and dashes with a boquet of wildflowers showing through. also embellished
with a blue satin bow. Simple and very pleasant.
Tina Verhulst - White cs stamped with a dolphin and embellished with layered
colored papers to represent the sun and water. Very creative use of one
stamp.
Thank you one and all for this great swap.

Subject: Re: RS: Rainbow pad uses?
This idea is brayering, but with a bit of a difference. I learned this =
from someone on the list a year ago or longer, but don't remember who =
mentioned it. If you have a brayer with a removable handle, take the =
handle off, wrap three of four different width rubber bands from end to =
end on the brayer, maybe twisting one or two of them and snap the handle =
back in place. Now roll this over your rainbow pad and then roll onto the =
paper. This is especially neat on the embossed leather papers. =20
When finished, make certain you remove the handle, run the brayer under =
water to clean and save those rubber bands for future use.
It's been a long week and I'm tired, so if it doesn't make sense, just =
holler. And if you beg REALLY hard, I might even send you a card.

All this talk about rainbow pads . . .=20
They're so pretty, I admit to owning a few myself, but outside of
brayering or simple stamping of rainbowed images, how else do you use
these?
Feathers - who goes thru black dye and pigment ink like water.

Subject: Re: RS:Production quotas on cards?
Oh, what a good question! (for me, anyway!) Sometimes I see those high
numbers, too, and wonder how in the world....
On the other hand, I have soooo many stamps (I know that's highly unusual
on this list, hehe) and soooo many ideas, that I try to maybe do just a
half dozen of any one design. If I'm doing a swap, I do the six, then
maybe four more. Also, I usually do one prototype, which takes much longer
as I may try several different things...but the subsequent ones usually go
faster.
I'm even in Fran's 50 state swap, but couldn't possibly do 50 all the
same...I like variety :)
I even sell a lot of my cards, but still won't do more than a half dozen of
any one design, though some sell out, I really won't do them again! Just
too many other new things! But I'm the same with all my crafts--I won't do
a quilt pattern more than once, or cross stitch a design more than once,
etc. :)
Gee, are there output quotas that I didn't know about? <major grin>

Someone told me I should use hot glue gun sticks instead of sealing wax for
embellishments. I was told that you can impress the soft glue pool with a die
inked with pigment ink. They said they don't crack like the squished sealing wax
bits can....and they also said they come in colors. I'm really only interested
in black or copper. I've checked the Nasco and Dick Blick catalogs....nothing
but clear glue sticks. Anyone else heard of this stuff????? (I don't even own a
glue gun, so don't know much about these things <G>).

Subject: RS: Stampin' Mom Spoils Me Rotten! (long)
- ------------------
My stampin' mom, Val Kildaw, is so super. Her friendship is a treasure, as
those who know her have experienced. But she always goes many steps
further, sending me wonderful goodies in the mail. Yesterday I received
this wonderful holiday box, crammed with great things. She made two great
cards for me. One is stamped on (red) velvet in a frame (gorgeous) and the
other is a wonderful Valentine's lion with ruby red glitter perfectly
placed throughout his mane, complemented with silver spots on his mane and
for his tail.
She also sent Roger's yummy chocolates, which DH is gobbling now, beautiful
cardstock, a cuddly Valentine's bear, and celestial wind chimes (I can't
wait to find the perfect place to hang this --it sounds so melodic. She
also sent a great celestial box that's covered with sunflowers and
moons--really pretty, and there's a matching zippered purse (the label
reads "coin/key case, but I can use it for my cosmetics). She also sent me
a package of charms, Liquid Applique in burgundy (I'm going to use it for
that technique I learned at a class), a jar of Fancifetti holographic stars
(I better master a shaker card) and three little recessed frames that look
like chalkboards (tell me how to use them Mom!). And of course that's
already way too much, but she also sent me a set of stamps from Stampin'
Up--a heart, a Happy Birthday, a squiggly design, and a thank you, so you
know that I will be using them in a card that I'll make her this week.
I hope everyone's stampin' Mom is even 1/4 as nice as mine!
Thank you so much. I can't tell you how much I appreciate the gifts and
your friendship.
Fondly,
Roz

Recieved a Valentine package from my SSS6 today. It has some red and white
foamie sheets, some victorian wrapping paper, a sheet of multi-colored hearts,
several real cute valentine card with teddy bears and hearts all over them--of
course, what else would you use for cards. There was a jar of red embossing
tinsel from PSX. Love red. I also got some red heart confetti in a baggie
tied with some white ribbon with red hearts and two heart buttons tied to it.
These will look cute on a card SSS. And I got 4 new stamps to play with--a
small angel face, a small heart, a cute teddy holding a couple of hearts, and
a dove with two hearts. All of the smaller items came in a hand decorated bag
with hearts of all colors all over it. Looks like this is meant for me to make
lots of valentine cards. Thanks SSS, this was a real surprise.

be fun to do a swap representing our stamping nicknames. I think it will
be fun to see how we interpret our nicknames visually.
DETAILS
Swap: Nicknames
Hostess: Rosemary Fleener (Stampaloosa)
Items: 5/5 cards, postcards, pins (no backs please), magnets
Theme: a visual representation of your stamping nickname (example: Crazy
Stamper might be a picture of a wild-looking woman jumping up and down on
top of a rubberstamp; be creative, you don't have to literally interpret
your nickname).
Mailing Info: SAML. equivalent postage plus 1 extra loose 32 cent stamp (no
meter strips or non-US money please)
Postmark: March 31

cut on bottom front...hearts on white paper that appear to have been sponge
brayered in shades of purple and pink, cut out and some of them the ultra
thick embossing powder used on. then they were layered on top of each other
in a random pattern...so nicely done...and Debbie tells me her mother is
NEWBIE...well this lady shows some real talent....if this was a beginners
card I want to stay in tough with her because she's gonna' be GOOD ! Inside
of the card she had enclosed a sheet of gold embossed messages that I can
cut out and use later on my own cards. They are on sticker paper. Thank You
