I still have my MIA/POW bracelet, too. My brother was in the Navy at the
time and got one for himself, my sister and me. My sister doesn't know where
her bracelet is, but my brother's POW came home. Mine, although "officially"
listed as dead, is MIA, as he was last seen alive.
My younger son studied Vietnam last year and they wrote and performed a
marvelous play. He became interested in my bracelet when we checked the WEB
site for the Wall and discovered a discrepency between the "facts" listed
there and the bracelet. He now has a Web page for my MIA. He has tried to
locate relatives in Peekskill, Ny, but hasn't had any luck. The one thing he
hasn't done is write the newspaper there. There is still a big movement to
find out about these guys. My son gets lots of e-mail regarding political
agendas, etc. At 13 he knows more about what's going on than I do.

Subject: Re: RS: RE:Tan what one item from past
I have something really special that means the world to me. In high school, I
had a good friend named John Freeze. He was just the sweetest guy. He drew
comic strips.....good ones. But I don't think he ever showed them to anyone
but me and one other friend of ours. Anyway, one day in gym class, I fell
(gymnastics....I'm a klutz) and messed my wrist up pretty bad. He drew me the
coolest comic with his own character "Random Beaver" about my fall. "Poor,
poor Kim, she broke her arm while doing flips in gym," it said (in part). He
gave me that and several other strips he had drawn. About a year later, he
shot and killed himself. I had talked to him just a few days before and we
had planned to meet at Homecoming (he had graduated the year before and I was
a senior). I was shattered. I've kept the strips (with the exception of one
or two I gave his parents) and even had them laminated so they wouldn't fall
apart any further. They bring my joy and pain. Joy for the memories and pain
for the loss. Everytime I take them out and look at them, I cry. I still
miss him. These are very, very precious to me.

I received the best Rak today from Barbara Simpson. It is a paper made
pocket/box with wonderful cat stickers as we share a love of cats. This
is the neatest thing, I have never seen one and I have no idea how you
would make this but I sure lke it. Then I opened it up to find a magnet
she had made with little ducks on it that said "I've had enough rain" .
Boy is this ever true as we both live in Northern California where we
have had tons of rain although we saw sunshine today. I love this
magnet, I will take it to work tomorrow to proudly show it off and then
right on my frig. Thank-you Barbara, you really made my day. I can't

Subject: Re: RS: STAMPS BY JUDITH
Finally something that I actually know about! I worked the Stamps by
Judith booth Saturday at the Grapevine Convention, along with Natalie
from Shannon's stamp club. Judith, her husband and daughter were also
there. What I was told to tell people inquiring about selling their
stamps is....They are a small operation and have grown by tremendous
leaps and bounds recently. Since they cannot keep up with supply and
demand from all the stores and continue to grow they had to make some
decisions. They are trying to only take on stores in areas that they
don't currently have their stamps represented so that they can regulate
growth and still let as many areas as possible see their stamps. The
decision was also made to go with stores over re-sellers at this time
since they cannot do it all.
Now I know that there are also some other policies they have that many
of us may not agree with, but I guess we have to keep in mind that it is
their company. They are delightful people and Judith is extremely
talented. I feel fortunate that I worked this booth because I really
feel that I learned quite a bit watching her "color" and demo.

Being a military spouse myself, the best advice I can give you is to not
sit around moping. I had to put up with 3 months of not seeing my
husband (I know that's nothing compared to some of you wives). It was
rough, but then you get into a routine. You can always call him. We
were able to limit it to once a week. Not very easy, but it was easy on
the phone bill!
Hang in there! Just think, you have all the time to stamp without any
interruptions from anyone, unless you have kids at home.

an opening business special, I would like to offer a grab bag of 75 =
sheets of 8 1/2 x 11 cardstock for just $10.00 which includes priority =
shipping within the United States.
This is truly beautiful cardstock. The grab bag includes four =
different neutrals (perfect for Easter or Spring cards). Included are =
white embossed leather, pebblestone, oyster flecks, and cottonwood. All =
of these are textured or have flecks or specks of a variety of neutral =
colors throughout the cardstock. These are not plain ho-hum papers - =
they are all quite beautiful. All are 80 lb. cardstock except the =
pebblestone which is 65 lb.
I know that you will be taking a leap of faith by placing an order =
with me since I am a new vendor. That is why I am offering such a =
special price on this paper. All I ask is that you please give me a =
chance to show you what a wonderful vendor I will be for you. (By the =
way dh about died when I walked in with 9 cartons of paper. Personally =
I am in paper heaven!) =20
Remember the grab bags are just $10.00 per 75 sheet grab bag =
including priority shipping! To order a grab bag (or two!) for yourself =
or your SS e-mail barbara@kans.com or mail check or money order to:
Creative Images
1112 Neosho
Burlington KS 66839=20
I am working on being able to accept credit cards but the paperwork =
is not done being processed at the bank - lots of red tape! For right =
now I accept checks and money orders. =20
Soon I will have a line of rubber stamps and supplies available =
(hopefully by March 1st). Thank you in advance to all of you who are =
taking that leap of faith and placing an order with me. It will be =
remembered and appreciated. If you have any questions you can e-mail me =
or feel free to give me a call at 316-364-8744.

Subject: Re: RS: DISCUSSION: too many COMM/AD's?
well, here's is my opinion .... from this side of the fence.
I try very hard to only post one ad per subject per day... meaning that I may
have 2 or 3 subjects... but only one of each per day.
I also try to alternate. For example... today, I may post about the new
cardstock I have (I split it into 3 different posts because it was too long
the other way). Tomorrow, I may post about my Cardstock of the Month Club.
I realize that I am probably one of the most prolific advertisers. Please, if
you feel that I am posting TOO MUCH, let me know! I am very curious as to
what *you* guys think!! Truth is, if I don't post one day... I don't get any
sales for the day (I've tried this several times, and with the same results
each time... no post/no sales).
I *do* welcome constructive critcism, REALLY! If you have some insight for
me, I would be glad to hear from you (no flames, I promise!!!)
Thanks for listening!

Many thanks, to both of you, who each sent me wonderful
Kimono origami patterns.
Eileen made me a sample using lovely red foil paper. I
love the patterns, and the sample, Eileen. Thanks so
much! I _did_ "get" the instructions, yes. :))
Andrea sent me a pattern for the cutest tiny kimono,
and even made a sample of the various stages of
construction. Thank you for going to all that trouble,
Andrea!
I really appreciate this, Ladies! I will have fun with these,
for sure.
You'll be "seeing" me in your mail!

Jaimee,
All I know about snowboarding I learned from my son the hard way.
Patrick was an EXPERIENCED skier.....been skiing since he was 5. At the
age of 16, he was an incredible skier....took up snowboarding when they
first hit the market because he loved skate boards as a little
kid.....BIG MISTAKE! He had been on the ski team at the prep school he
attended and knew the slopes well. He learned to snow board readily,
unfortunately. He had a terrible accident the second year he was snow
boarding...broke both the bones in his lower leg....spiral fractures no
less! The releases didn't release when an inexperienced, out of
control, skier collided with him. My son, who is now 25, is in constnat
pain as a result of that accident. He tried skiing again and was too
traumatized to enjoy it. He has given up one of his very favorite
sports. Can no longer ice skate and was a terror playing ice hockey.
You decide, but here was an experienced skier, ice hockey player who can
no longer enjoy the winter sports he loved. Be cautious if you opt for
the snow board.

<< Ugh, when they're really small, stamp only when they're asleep (I know,
it requires self discipline, and yes, some loss of sleep.) As they get

sure nothing on the floor of your stamp room/area can make too big a
mess, because they will be right at your feet, getting into everything
(while chewing on your stamp.) Pretty soon they catch on and will start
wanting inkpads. Use your descretion here, I guess. RubberBekah (now 19
MO) usually found one anyway & got all pink or blue or whatever the color
of the day was. And yes, I've big green sploches on my beige carpet
now. But hey, I haven't killed her or died of stamping deprivation yet.
As for the older ones, get them their own stamps, pads, markers, etc.
Works well for my 5 YO Beth.
Daisies,
Meridee >>
I see you haven't met my Caroline yet. She's 13 months old and knows EXACTLY
what stamps and ink are for. She will take a stamp (inked in food coloring)
and stamp me, herself, her brother, Daddy, the table, the
floor.....everything. She will not stand for being excluded from the stamping
activities. And I can't do it when she's sleeping 'cause that's when I work!
And here lately she insists on being held CONSTANTLY! Not much fun. But I'm
starting to develop a few little tricks. I'm doing the actual stampin while
she's down, but do the coloring, layering, etc. while she's looking. She
doesn't seem to care about that stuff...she just wants STAMPS.
