The cards from this swap are fantastic! The cards I received which have
not already been described are from
>Sarah Shivler--Sarah used beige cardstock and inked a red seam around the border. She then layered two decoratively edged squares, one solid red and the other red and white checked. On top is an apple tree, nicely colored with red, green, and brown markers. The layering really added a nice touch to this card. Sarah, would you let me know the source of the stamp?
>Lanel Welch--Lanel used a very dark olive/brown cardstock. Layered on this is a white, deckled paper on to which an overflowing basketfull of apples and black-eyed susans have been stamped. Colored pencils were used. The saying on top is "Friends are the Sunshine of Life." The finishing touch is a hand-tied just bow. This would be such a nice card to give to a special friend.
>Susan Bentley--Susan made a beautiful, multi-layered card. A large, ivory card was first layered with a green and beige gingham paper with scalloped edges. It covers most of the top and extends 2" over the back-this was a nice touch. Then she layered a black square. On top of this is a black and white checked bordered image of a red apple, green apple and blossoms. These were embossed. For a 3d effect, she again layered a black and white checked border. I wish y'all could see this one!
Thanks to all for sharing!
Susan

Subject: COMM: FREE stamps from AAS/Imagick
Couldn't resist, could you? Lol!!! Here's how you can get your free stamp
from AAS!
We'll be doing our first stamp convention ever, this year in Cleveland! I'd
love to have some killer display art , but I am so busy making enough stamps
to satisfy the ravenous hordes, that I just don't have time to do it right!
Here's where you come in
( and the free stamp BTW)
If you''ll make us a card or other item for display purposes, we'll trade
free stamps for your work! Here's the deal.... 2 unmounted dies or 1 mounted
stamp for each contribution. If you have our catalog, you may specify which
stamps you want. If
you don't have a catalog ( cause you got stamps only via grab bags, for
instance)
you can request a theme and I'll pick for you. It will be a brand new image
so that you won't have to worry about duplication.
Here's the catch, and it is very important.. you can only use Appalachian Art
Stamps or Imagick stamps in your work. The goal is to display our images,
remember! I know I'll get much better art back that I have time to do; I've
seen what ya'll are doing with our images and it's pretty wonderful!
Please remember, AAS/Imagick images only! Send your goodies by March 15 to:
AAS/Imagick

P.S. Jodie returned to me an extra stamp. There had been some recent
discussion on postage and how nobody returns it if it is less than what is
sent. Or that it is used for others who did not send in enough. I did not
expect anything in return - But wanted you to know - it was very sweet of you
to send it. Thank you.

Several years ago (appx 1985) I sent off to this place that made
peforated glossy regulation size postage stamps out of any picture
you sent. I did a collage, and they were really kewl. The stamps are almost
cardstock weight, glossy, and perfectly perfed, landscape orientation.
Anybody have any idea what company may have done this, or still be
