You do not need to know any html to use WordPerfect
as a html editor, it takes you normal wordprocessing
commands and saves them as html files.  The style sheet
or whatever WP calls it takes care of everything for you.
Marlene, is doing all kinds of links and graphics and
not doing any html coding it is all done for her when
she saves the file.

One problem I am seeing with the web site editors is they
encourage one to make slow web pages with a lot of
animation and stuff.  I do not surf the net for fun, I
do it to find answers to questions, and when I hit a
site that is slow, I quit and find a different faster
site.

Subject: RS: Never been RAK'd and Wannabee?

I was very excited when I received my first RAK (Random Act of Kindness)
and I've RAK'd others who also were excited to receive their first one.
To further explain what a RAK is, someone on  the list challenged us to
send a card to someone for no apparent reason.  Not a birthday,
anniversary, swap etc. but just for the fun of it.  It really caught on and
we all enjoyed receiving these unexpected cards.  Someone called it a
Random Act of Kindness and it stuck.

The Wannabee RAK'd List is for those who have never been RAK'd and want to
be. If that's you, just send me your name and address with a request to be
added to the Wannabees.  It will not be posted to the whole list, only to
those seeking a name to RAK.

Likewise if you would like to RAK someone who has never been RAK'd
contact me for the latest list.  Some send only a card or postcard,
(signed or unsigned) others include small token gifts, such as postoids,
um's, background papers, embellishments, once I even received homemade
chocolates!  So most anything can be a RAK.

[Not to be confused with the "Snail Mail List" which requires filling out a
form and lists everyone who does this.   This is "Only" a list of those who
have never been RAK'd and Wannabee.]

Last week I received my cards from the Barn Swap and the House Mouse
Swap.  I don't have the cards with me to describe them, but they were
all great.  Some of the cards were done in chalks and they just
looked perfect.  Others had so much layering on their cards that
produced such a nice effect.  Everyone must have spent many hours on
these cards.

Thanks RS Mom!!

I received a beautiful card in a clear envelope in the mail on Friday.
My new RS Mom had used colored markers on a coffee filter and then wet
it.  She then mounted the coffee filter and put beautiful 3-D
butterflies on the card.  The card also came with directions which my RS
mom knew I needed!!  It was a technique I had to try myself this
weekend.  My coffee filter is drying (I did it yesterday but had to come
to work today) and so I'll see if mine looks half so distinctive.

Yes I had a weird tossing and turning night last night, which always
allows me to remember lots of my dreams.
And I dreamt about all of you!
 We were all in this big airplane hangar sized room, *ALL* of us - and I
knew who everyone was on sight. (don't ask, I don't remember the
specifics)  But the only way we could talk to each other was to use the
computers that were set up all over the place.  No one was talking to
each other other than electronically.  People were sitting at their
keyboards typing madly away, laughing, or crying or just reading
intently, some were walking about silently.  And not a rubber stamp in
sight.
Anybody care to interpret?

12. Cats eye, inkspot pad in a spring color
13. Make a magnet, rubberstamped or computer generated using our theme of

14. A sheet of tissue paper, not plain, either stamped or purchased with an
Easter theme
15. Confetti either spring, flowers, gardening, bees, butterflies, etc.. or
Easter items, bunnies, chicks, eggs etc..

I live pretty darn close to this site, about 15 minutes away in fact.... so
if anyone needs a place to slap their sleeping bag down, I'm it!  :)  Now,
bear in mind there are four kids and a greyhound in this house but I cook
well (is kosher cooking too!  And, yes, I can do vegie as my daughters would
much rather be vegetarians but I insist on the occasional animal protein in
their diets), couch is comfy, and my kids are well behaved (the hound is
whiny, though)  :)

And, I'd be willing to show y'all around the San Antonio stamp stores.  Bet
Kaye Lynn/Sing n' Stamp would too, wouldn't you?  Now, as far as eateries...
well, I'm not too well informed about those opportunities (remember my
reference above to those four kids?  Well, we don't eat out much as it's a
major purchase if we do!  Plus, there's the kosher aspect to consider...) so
I'll have to defer those arrangments to Kaye Lynn (that okay, Kaye Lynn?)

The girls, Jacob, and I are already working on our pins... now, to save up
some money/get my budget back in shape after the Grapevine convention!  I'm
excited already!

There is a garment for newbornsof either gender known as a sacque, that's
pretty much like a long dress but the bottom is closed, either in a
drawstring or buttons or whatever.  This allows the baby's feet to kick
freely but remain warm, and allows for ease of diaper changes.  Could the
garment in the stamp be interpreted as such?

i just answered the door and i got a huge package from my sss.  what a
wonderful suprise!!!!!!!!!!

first, i opened a large envelope and found a 1998 calendar. she has it all
ready for me to decorate, and has marked my birthday with an adorable stamped
elephant. so neat!

next, wrapped in peach tissue paper and tied with a ribbon is..a delicious
smelling orange blossom candle. i absolutely love candles

in a green envelope....a color box pigment in pad in harbor, sea spray bath
crystals, and a wonderful pin. the pin is 3-d with a bird house and a flower
pot and says  "thyme to garden"  the birdhouse says  "rest your wings"

oh my gosh!!!!!!!!!  wrain red checked tissue paper is a set of le plume II
markers. i am so excited!!!!!!!!  i have been wanting a set of these.  hoe in
the world did you know?

ooooooohhh...ruby red embossing powder. just in time for valentines. i can use
these on the gift bags i am making.

this envelope is full of patterns and instructions for seed packets, bookmark
cards,lantern cards,  embossed velvet pillows, and a rolling window.  i can't
wait to get started!!!  i have only done cards and bookmarks, magnets and some
gift tags. so i know this will be tons of fun.

in a pink baggie is the cutest stamp of two bunies in their robes sitting at
the table and smooching.

and in a large clear envelope is some new years confetti with champagne
glasses and top hats, some silver and gold cording,a gold heart doiley,3 large
sheets of card stock,some really neat handmade paper, some really pretty
silver paer and velum, and the jan/feb issue of the rubber stamper.


i cannot believe all of the wonderful things you sent thank you so, so much
for everything!!!!!!!

If you have trouble getting it to cut straight, you can call Fiskar's
customer affairs line (1-800-950-0203 ext. 277) and they will send a *fix
it* kit.  The kit will contain 3 more of the curved washers.  If you use
the 3 washers together, it provides more stability for the blade so it
won't deviate from the straight path.  Tell them which blades you have
trouble with, etc. and they may send you a new blade, cutting mats, etc.
It does take a while to arrive (6-8 wks.), but with the kit, I'm much
happier with the results.  Also, all paper trimmers aren't alike.  My
sister-in-law's cuts straight without the added washers and hers has a
different feel to it also.
