Subject: RS: Rakked by MoGal!
MoGal's card was really neat. It was a friendship saying with heart
frame in the shape of a diamond embossed in silver. This diamond shape
was layered on a circular doily and layered on dark blue cs that had been
trimmed with fancy scissors. It's topped off with a white organdy
ribbon. Pretty. Great idea for the doily. I have some but haven't used
them yet.
Thanks!

Kaye,
How about giving this woman an old rubber stamp catalog or better yet an old
rs magazine.
When you give it to her include a list of just the basics to get her started:
paper, ink, stamps, cleaner etc. Also give the address of a stamp store that
you don't frequent(avoids running into her).
That way you've helped but from a distance.
Just a suggestion,
Kaye

Janice,
California Stampin' isn't a company that carries their own line of stamps.
They're a vendor, like Baggie or Grandma's Attic, except they aren't signed
up on the RS e-mail list as far as I know. You can e-mail Suzanne Slupesky,
the owner, at Mizstamp@aol.com. She offers several lines of stamps and
accessories for 25% off and is very nice to work with.
Hope this helps!

Subject: RS: Cards for Guys Received
With a husband, a son, a father-in-law, 2 brothers, 11 brothers-in-law
and 13 nephews, I am so glad I joined this swap. These cards would be
perfect for any of them.
Ann Sager - Yellow cardstock with a tool box with a paint brush sticking
out it. On the inside are other tools framing "Happy Birthday".
Kimberlee Dick - On pale gray cardstock and really great stamp of bear
laying in a hammock with fishing pole over his shoulder. He surrounded
by trees and bushes. Its beautifully colored with what looks like
chalk.
Sharon, the Mouse Potato - Blud cardstock, layered with a piece of map,
then green cardstock, then orange. In the middle is a racecar, stamped
on black paper and embossed in silver.
Ponine@aol.com - A beautiful card done on light brown cardstock. The
background is covered with little gold dots then randomly stamped with
dark brown Celtic knots. There are two larger Celtic squares that are
stamped with white, then the stamp is turned and stamped and embossed
with gold glittery EP. "Looks I'll need to add some Celtic stamps to my
collection.
Melinda Carmain - On light brown cardstock is a carpenter stamped and
embossed with darker brown EP. That is layered on black cardstock and
the edges are trimmed with yellow paper that looks like a tape measure.
Unknown - A shirt card made of wallpaper with real buttons glued to the
front and a little bow tie. The sleeves are stitched and the is a
little pocket with a on the front. This is a really neat card.
Thanks everyone for playing and Melissa for hosting - all these cards
are great. The men in my family will pleased that I'll be better able
to make cards that look like "guy cards".

Oh Merlene,
You are right about the waste of the courts time and yours! I am
conatantly amazed at what our courts have to deal with and the COST to all
of us. I have served twice on jury duty and the cost of a trial even if it
is settled out of court during the trial process is so high that I just
shake my head.
When I sat for jury duty I now only wish I was into rubber stamping or
pergamano it sure would have made the waiting time go much faster... in one
instance it was 3 weeks for the federal court system that I sat and waited
the majority of the time... But if called to serve again I would in a
moments notice! But if that ever happens I will definitly come prepared
this time around.!

From: ~ lupie ~ <eherman@flash.net>
Subject: RS: TAN: Homemade Finger Paints
Cleaning out my file cabinets and came across this recipe. It's been a
couple of years since I made any, but it would make a cute, inexpensive
children's Christmas gift.
Ingredients:
1 envelope unflavored gelatin
1 cup cold water, divided
1/2 cup liquid laundry starch
2 cups hot water
1/2 cup mild soap flakes (like Ivory)
food coloring or acrylic or tempera paints
medium saucepan
wooden spoon
Directions:
Soften gelatin in 1/4 cup of cold water; set aside. Combine laundry
starch with the remaining cold water in a medium saucepan. Add the hot
water and cook over medium heat, stirring constantly with a wooden spoon
until mixture comes to a full boil and has become completely thickened.
Remove from heat; blend in the softened gelatin. Add soap and stir
until completely dissolved. Add food coloring or paint to all or part
of the mixture until desired color is obtained, adding no more than 1
tablespoon of food coloring or paint to each recipe.
Store finger paints in covered containes. Makes about 3 cups. Recipe
may be multiplied.
Lupie's notes: When the kids in our family were younger I made batches
of this and stored them in the small canning jars. Gave painting
baskets to the kids with a jar of yellow, blue and red paint and a pad
of finger paint paper. It was a big hit and really cheap!

Sorry I'm so late in posting these - they're all great!
Debbie Kaeding - A really cute jack-o-latern pin. Theres a small brad
in the upper corner and it opens up to reveal "trick or treat and a
little ghost. I'm having a hard time keeping track of this one - every
time I turn around, one of my kids has got it on!
Carlene Czarnik - I love this card. The first layer is orange cardstock
sprayed with black webbing spray. The next layer is a rectangle of
black cardstock sprayed with gold webbing spray, glued at an angle. On
top is a square off white cardstock with a jack-o-lantern tea pot
stamped and embossed gold. It says "There's mischief brewing". On the
inside is white paper with a pumpkin post stamp in the lower corner.
Bonnie Lass - white cardstock with big yellow moon circle on top with
silver glittery stars. in the lower corner, slightly over-lapping the
moon is a really cute jack-o-latern. It looks like its colored with
markers, but I can never get the color this even. On the inside it says
"no tricks, just treats" and has little candy confetti glues on.
Ranee - a beautiful card done on light brown card stock with leaves of
shades of brown, orange and green stamped on it. Then there are layers
of gold, dark green and white. On top is pumpkin stamp that is
beautifully colored. The pumpkin is real shiney and looks like it has
little circles all over it. I'd love to know how you did this.
Melissa Klap - another beautiful card. On gray cardstock, stamped and
embossed in orange, is a row of pumpkins (who makes this stamp - I
really like it) along the lower edge. The pumpkins are beautifully
water colored. There is a gold border with fall leaves in the upper
corners. This is trimmed with deckle edge scissors and layered on black
cardstock and then on white.
Sherri - An orange card, with little pumpkins and "Happy Holloween"
stamped all over the background. On top is a rectangle of black
mulberry paper and a holographic pumpkin. The lower edge is trimmed
with deckle edge scissors a little shorter than the back. On the inside
of the card is a strip of pretty pumpkin paper that shows on the front -
this is such a neat idea. And is filled with Halloween confetti.
Thanks Sherri, this was a great swap.

Subject: RS: Pooh Bear Swap descriptions
Thanks Suki for hosting this swap. Im a huge Pooh Bear fan and
couldn't wait until the cards arrived! I was so excited to find
them in my mailbox today! Let me know if you are going to do
another one, I want to join in!!!!!
Rubbertales: This original postcard is made on green cs that is
speckled with gold glitter and trimmed with fancy scissors.
Center on the front is a piece of brown corregated paper.
Centered on this is a small image of Christopher Robin and Pooh.
The image is colored with felt pens and then it looks like it is
embossed with liquid glass ep. It almost looks laminated. Neat!
How did you do this? Thanks!
LZ: This Halloween card is made on white cardstock. There is a
layer of gold paper, orange paper, and then balck paper.
Centered on this is an image of Pooh, Piglet, and Tigger carving
a pumkin. This is colored nicely with felt pens. This is very
nice, thanks!
Jennifer Huffman: This postcard is made on white glossy paper.
This is an adorable scene with the background of sky, sun, trees,
and ground all stamped with sponges (Ithink). Pooh and the Gang
are stamped and embossed with black ep. They are colored brightly
so that they stand out from the rest of the picture. They look
like they are all bouncing! Theis is great! Thanks!
Mandy Welch: This beautiful Christmas card is going to be
displayed on my hearth for the holidays! The card is made on a
white glossy cs. The edges of the card are sponged with dark
green and yellow. The yellow sponging is done so that it looks
like it forms a oval frame. Around the edge of the frame are
small Christmas ornaments and tree branches all colored with felt
pens. Inside the frame is a stamped image of Christopher Robin,
Pooh and Piglet wrapping presents. Christopher Robin and Pooh are
set out from the image with foam tape so that the image looks 3d.
This is wonderful, thanks!!!!
Wendy: This card is made on cream colored cs with the corners
trimmed with fancy scissors. The center of the card has a small
peice of blue marbled paper with an image of Christopher Robin
and Pooh sitting. A frame is cut out around them with blue
showing through from the inside of the card (neat idea).
Surrounding the frame are stamped images of Pooh and Tigger and
some flowers. This is very nice, thanks!
Jennifer Hanes: This adorable little gift tag is made on cream
cs. The front of the card is covered with cream material with
small dusty rose flowers on it. Centered on this is a layer of
dusty rose paper and then an image of Piglet and Pooh playing
patty-cake. This is colored with felt pens. It has the saying
"it's so much friendlier with two..." This is really cute,
thanks!
Tracy Yamamoto: This Halloween card is made on beige speckled cs.
This is stamped with images of candy corn all over it. Centered
on this is a layer of orange paper and then white paper with an
image of Pooh, Piglet and Tigger carving a pumkin. Above this is
a bow made from natural colored rafia. This is very nice, thanks!
Unknown: This bright card come in an envelope covered with
clouds. The card is made on bright red cs. Centered on this is a
layer of navy blue cs that is backed with foam tape so that it
stands out. This is cut out like a picture frame. Inside the
frame is white paper covered with light blue clouds that match
the envelope. Sitting on top of this is an image of Pooh. He is
holding 3 pieces of gold thread that attach to large red
balloons. They are positioned so that it looks like he is
floating out of the picture. This is beautiful, thanks!
Pat Mellors: This card is made on white cs. The front has an
image of Pooh embossed and colored with felt pens. In his hands
are actual pieces of black thread that attach to stamped balloon
that are backed with foam tape for a 3d effect. This card is
really bright! Thanks!
Claire Moore: This is a really neat bookmark idea. The bookmark
is made on white cs. The bookmark is blank except at the very top
where there is an image of Pooh embossed with black ep and
colored in. It says "think, think, think" underneath him. The
image is die cut along the edge. If you use this in your book the
Pooh bear with stick out of the book! Neat idea!!!!! Thanks!
LHeale: This card is made on yellow cs. The is a layer of white
paper with yellow, blue and red stripes (checkers??). Offset on
this is a small square of red adn then a layer of white
corregated paper. Set on this is a stamped Pooh bear sitting
eating honey out of a honey pot. This is embossed, colored and
backed with foam tape for a 3d effect. This card is very bold and
bright, thanks!!!
Suki: Thanks for including 2 pooh bear stickers and a gift tag
with Piglet on it. This was a great swap and you were a terrific
hostess!

Subject: RS: Christmas Angel Swap
Jeannine, thanks for hosting this swap. My girlfriend has me
hooked on angels and it was great to receive these terrific
cards. Let me know if you are going to do another one!
Leila Steineckert: This card is so cute! It is made on brown cs.
Layered on the front is a piece of matching corregated paper, a
layer of burgundy paper with the corners trimmed, a layer of
yellow and white checkered paper and then a layer of white paper.
Centered on this is a "country angel" holding some stars (?) in
her hands. She is colored with felt pens. She sort of looks like
a Rageddy Ann doll. Above her is a large bow made from burgundy
and white checkered ribbon. The inside of the cards reads "an
angels work is never done". Very nice, thanks!
"Par": How do I describe this beautiful card? Im not going to do
it any justice, but I will try..... The card is made on white cs
that is covered with a blue cloudy paper. The center of the front
has a strip of turquoise paper going from top to bottom. On top
of this is a light cream colored mulberry paper that is very
wispy and loose (Sorry, I couldn't think of what to sayLOL). On
top of this is a beautiful angel embossed and colored with felt
pens. She is holding a large book. Beside her is the saying "and
the angel said unto them". You open the card to find that the
turqoise strip is not actually the center of the card front but
actually the edge. The right side of the strip is actually the
inside of the card. The angel overhangs the edge fo the front
(does this make sense!LOL).The inside is stamped with blue
snowflakes that are accented with silver glitter. There are two
sayings stamped as well "fear not: for behold I bring you good
tidings of great joy.... Luke 2:10" and Wishing you a heavenly
Christmas and a wonderful new year". This is so beautiful!
Thanks!
Lynn Legge: This card is made on cream cs. The front has a layer
of a green wallpaper with small dusty rose, blue and white
flowers. In the top left corner there is a bow made with green
sheer ribbon. Centered on the wallpaper is a cute little angel
holding flowers that are accented with sequins and beads. The
inside of the card reads "May this be the holiday season you'll
remember for the Joy it brings and the Memories it leaves". There
are two stamped images of holly in the bottom corners. This is
really cute, thanks!
Connie Maginnis: The front of this card is covered with a green
metallic paper. A fringe of gold ribbon runs along the right edge
of the card. Stamped and embossed in gold is an image of an angel
playing a harp (this is really beautiful!). The inside of the
card has a piece of white mulberry paper that is stamped with
"Jesus is the greatest love of all" and embossed with gold ep.
Very nice, thanks!
Jean Peka: This card is made with white cs. Centered on the front
is a piece of grey marbled paper with a "country angel" stamped
and embossed with silver ep. Above her is a bow made of silver
ribbon. The inside of the card reads "Merry Christmas", also
embossed with silver ep. Very cute, thanks!
