Subject: RS: Poinsettia Swap Rec'd
Date: 04 Feb 1997 17:46:32 -0500
Thanks to my daughter, Lisa Wynn (Stampher2) for hosting this *seasonal*
swap! I was fortunate enough to see ALL the cards after she had given me
my *share* - everyone did a truly beautiful job!
>From Michelle Oakley - On red cardstock, she layered green then
off-white cardstock on which she stamped a pot of poinsettias - simple
and beautiful!
*No name* - Gold speckled on a black background - with a poinsettia
stamped and EP'd in gold on solid black. The poinsettia is done in
interference paints and has a foil gold marble border. Very different
and very pretty!
Carol Otani - On gold foil cardstock she layered green cardstock and
stamped the poinsettia. It's EP'd in gold with interference highlights.
Very elegant!
Thea Boschma - Ivory natural cardstock layered with burgundy cardstock
which has a gold EP border, then another ivory natural cardstock stamped
with winter boughs and fine-line edged with burgandy glitter EP.
Finally, she stamped the poinsettia and mounted it on burgandy cardstock
(following the flower's outline) and *nestled* it on the boughs. The
card fold is tied with a gold cord. Really great job!
Finally, from Ranee Hempler, the Comotion poinsettia stamped on foil and
colored appropriately (how did you stamp this?) - it's sitting elegantly
on sheet music (It Came Upon The Midnight Clear) which was layered on
green cardstock. Really gorgeous card!
Thanks again, Lisa - as usual, your swaps attract quality stampers!

If you ever become a victim of a HORRIBLE crime, you will probably change
your mind about the death penalty. I know it sure changed mine.
I hope you never find out how it changes your mind. Trust me!

I guess I'll start. I hope others will follow.
I am 31, married for a little over 4 years, have 1 little boy almost 2
and 1 on the way, 2 dogs (a black Lab and a Dalmation) I live outside of
Austin, Tx. In all my days I have been: an EMT (Emergency Medical
Technician on the ambulance) a firefighter, plebotomist, medical sect.
and a graphic designer. The job I love most is the one I have now,
being a wife and a mommy.I have been stamping since last May. I also
enjoy Polymer Clay and making jewelry. And you?

Subject: RS: Getting stamps organized

I had this great idea. I was thinking with all of the kindness on the
list.... that someone would let me send them all of my stamps (just the
UM's, of coarse) and organize them for me into Angel vs Non-Angel and
then in the catagories under each. Now, who wants to volunteer?
Hey! I can dream, can't I? :O)

Have you thought about returning them? I'm the queen of returns. If it
doesn't work, it doesn't work. All they can tell you is no (though that
particular word never is acceptable to me when it comes to returning things)
and better yet, they may say yes! and you get your money back.

Subject: RS: About me
Date: 28 Feb 1997 07:08:55 -0600
My name is Dawn Stegall. I am married to a wonderful husband and we have
two beautiful girls. (Katlynn-3 1/2 and Kelsey-2 next month) My husband is
begging me for a third. We live in St. Louis, where I grew up, but my DH
wants to move to Colorado. I do some wordprocessing at home. Which I
enjoy, since I can be home with my girls. I have been stamping for a year
now, more seriously since originally joining this list last summer. I
don't have the time to do what I would like though, if only naptimes were
longer or if I could live on less sleep? I am a demonstrator and love
teaching and sharing my passion with others. (especially those who have
never heard of rubberstamps and are soo amazed at what can be done) I
dream of someday selling my work and fantasize about starting my own
company. Which isn't too far fetched since my husband has actually
encouraged me to do so. This year I tried to discipline myself to only
spend a portion of my commission checks on stampin stuff, but I already
blew that one! The wealth of information, kindness(I received my first RAK
last week and it felt great), and sense of belonging on this list is
incredible. I love it!
Stampingly Yours,
Dawn Stegall (Stampin Turtle)
St. Louis, MO
Behold the mighty turtle for she only makes progress when she sticks her
